  3. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

Starring Warner Baxter (as Colonel John Beetham) and Lois Moran (as Eve Mannering), BEHIND THAT CURTAIN is another film wherein CHARLIE CHAN hardly appears at all, a total of less than 6 minutes of the film's 91......

In the original novel, Eve Mannering (Durand) was supposed to have run off and married more than 15 years before this mystery began, and then to have disappeared in India. Sir Frederick Bruce was been trying to unravel a 15-year-old murder mystery involving a pair of slippers found at the scene, connected to Colonel John Beecham, who Eve has hooked up with.

This line would have been a bit difficult to use in the film, since Lois Moran was still 19 years old when filming began....which would have made her 3 or 4 years old when she married Durand and then disappeared.....

One more of E.L. Park, who played Chan stiffly and nervously. Thank goodness he wasn't on screen longer than 5+ minutes!

You are very welcome. I am trying to compile as much information as possible from various sites in order to post pics and history of the Charlie Chan films in order of production.

In 1930, Swedish actor Warner Oland (Johan Verner Oland) was hired to portray CHARLIE CHAN in the next film, CHARLIE CHAN CARRIES ON

The 50-year-old Oland had already had a long stage and film career. In films, Oland had typically played villains, including oriental baddies. He was tapped as being a 'perfect look' for CHAN, and (although never confirmed) the actor even claimed Mongolian ancestry.

Filming began the day after Christmas, 1930 and was complete after 17 days of shooting.

The world enjoyed it's first look at the man who is generally considered the "definitive" CHARLIE CHAN in March, 1931 when CHARLIE CHAN CARRIES ON premiered.

Because of poor preservation techniques (meaning NO efforts were made to carefully store and preserve the film), no print of CHARLIE CHAN CARRIES ON exists. It is one of the four WARNER OLAND portrayals of CHARLIE CHAN that are "lost". In all, OLAND made 16 films as the Chinese detective.

CHARLIE CHAN CARRIES ON was not only a "talking picture", but it was the first to contain the "sayings" or "made-up proverbs" that CHARLIE CHAN became famous for quoting over the next 40+ films
