You're quite right there stunbler. I live in the north west of Qld and in the last 2 years we would have had maybe a weeks worth of rainy days. It has been between 35 and 40C for the last 2 months and getting hotter now that it is summer !

 

I believe the most significant weather changes can only be traced back to within the last 30 years. It's bullshit.

Global warming is a scientific phenominan that has been hi-jacked by unscrupulos liberl politicians who seek more control and power over our everyday lives. I have heardall the horrific scenarios such as Al Gore warning us that we're doomed if we don't do something now. He claims that the world will flood by2020. Yea right! I think I shoud just give him my car and all my money so he can fix it all! You people need to get real. All this started out as "Ecology" in the weekly reader in the sixties elementary schools and now look at the way everyone has bought into the "sky is falling" bullshit. The atmosphre is evolving and many things affect it. Sunspots anyone? The real fact is that our atmosphre heats and cools over time and that is beyond or control. About the only thing I can think of that might trigger global warming is when Iran developes nukes we are all going to burn!

 

You know, mrmrs, every time you post on this subject, I start off thinking I should respond in detail to each of your so-called points...and by the time I get to the end, I realize it would be a complete waste of my time. You're going to persist in your egregious ignorance and even revel in it as a matter of pride, no matter what the facts suggest.

Well MrMrs I see you are a fan of Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh. If you'd bothered to read through the posts on this thread you'd know that at least Limbaugh's arguments have been debunked and those who's information he misquoted and distorted have taken extreme remedies to get the true story out. But as already pointed up you're content to keep your head buried in the ground which of course is why you wouldn't see the sky falling until it hits you on your ass.

As to other comments suggesting there is a concerted effort to keep concerns for global warming down and oil company profits high, todays news has a great deal of air time telling the public how much safer they are in big heavey gas guzzling cars as opposed to small cars.

 

Yes, and if this reluctance to deal with global warming continues there will be a now 2 or three year old girl who even with no credentials will dominate the issue. Her name is foggy right now but she will emerge the champion of the earth. So let’s deal with this now so as to prevent the rise of the uneducated goddess.
