The question is too simplistic. I would need to know the specifics of what following each one would entail. For instance, the question of whether it's better to be a slave in heaven or a king in hell. Are we going with the biblical version of things or some alternate one. If we are taking the Bible at it's word then you'd be stupid not to pick God. After all, we've already seen how it ends. No one willingly sides with the looser.

So be more specific and I'll be able to give you a specific answer.

I don't need to be given a choice. You see I know in my heart That Jesus died on the cross at Calvary and someday I hope to have everlasting life I'm not a southern bible thumper, and hope no one takes me that way. I'm just a simple guy that believes in John 3:16

 

If we're going from a Christian viewpoint, I would no doubtedly follow God or Jesus.

If I were a Satanist, I would no doubtedly follow Satan.

Now, if we throw it back to writings of the early Bible, it pretty much proves that Satan just wanted to prove God wrong, not that he is super evil. He just wanted to see if he could turn even the most devout people against God. He couldn't. I am not a Christian (or at least a Modern one) but believe in the Christian God, I don't follow the certain rules of it, because I quite personally think that a lot of the commandments are bunk. Everybody abuses them. If I had a personal choice of which one to choose, I think I would quite personally choose God over Lucifer. But it would be no doubt tempting to join with a person who can make all of your desires of the flesh come to reality.

Also: I'm not bashing people's beliefs. Every time I state my opinions, people get pissed off at me for some reason. I'm not telling you how to believe. Just letting you know how I believe. That is all

 

I like your answer. In my view, Lucifer wanted to prove to God that man was unfaithful, and unworthy.

definitely God. and to Stretch, i am a southerner and the term "bible thumper" is the wrong term. 'round here in these parts, we call them there religeous folks "holy rollers". :lol:

but really i love, and will always follow my Lord and saviour.

 

I know I pu up a pseudo-flippant reply earlier on, but the truth is I worry that I'm
a) going to upset a bunch of people on here whose beliefs I respect but don't share
or (possibly worse)
b) I'm going to bring down a pile of comments either trying to convince me I'm wrong or tell me I'm going to burn in hell

but the simple fact is that I am an atheist and I don't believe in either God or the Devil. I believe in people. And sometimes they disappoint me, but not as badly as a christian resident of New Orleans would have been disappointed in the power of prayer when Katrina hit, I suspect.
