I agree with you there’s lots of kids who if everything wasn’t handed to them and they never got in trouble and taught everything is okay just like the “affluenza kid”. However we live in a society now days that it’s sad all the bullying both pyscial and mental abuse that it messed some of those kids up mentally. Parents, friends and family need to pay more attention to those around them and help them to catch it.
There was a teacher on Facebook who had taught for twenty or thirty years and at the beginning of the school year she would have parents discribe their child and what makes them special. Years ago she said it would be a huge stack of papers and now only a few parents submit a page.

April 2018 saw the most gun-related checks run through the Federal Bureau of Investigation's background check system.

The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) ran 2,233,213 checks in April, according to an FBI document. That's nearly 90,000 more checks than the previous April record set in 2016. It also represents the second month in a row to set a record with March seeing 2,767,699 checks.

The drop off in background checks between March and April matches the industry's typical sales cycle where more guns are sold in winter months than in summer months. December tends to be the best month for gun sales in any given year. December 2015 holds the record for most checks in a month with 3,314,594.

NICS checks are one of the strongest indicators of gun sales in the United States. While there is no federal registry of firearms, NICS checks are required on nearly all sales conducted by licensed gun dealers. The number of checks does not perfectly correlate with the number of gun sales, though. Most states do not require NICS checks for sales of used firearms between nonlicensed individuals, many states use the checks during the gun-carry permit application process, some states don't require a NICS check during sales to those with gun-carry permits, and multiple guns can be sold during a single NICS check.

"These statistics represent the number of firearm background checks initiated through the NICS," the FBI wrote in its report. "They do not represent the number of firearms sold. Based on varying state laws and purchase scenarios, a one-to-one correlation cannot be made between a firearm background check and a firearm sale."

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the gun industry's trade group, said its analysis of the numbers found that checks related to gun-carry permits may have driven the record NICS numbers more than gun-sales checks.

The record number of NICS checks came as the push for new gun control remained in the public eye, and some states enacted new laws. Vermont's Republican governor Phil Scott flip flopped and signed a new gun-control package that outlawed magazines of varying sizes and gun ownership for any adult under 21-years-old in April. The town of Deerfield, Ill., also announced its own ban on certain rifles in April. Both measures are now being challenged in court.

Conservative student's parting shot at college's anti-gun policies goes viral: 'Come and take it'

A conservative woman who recently graduated from Kent State University has received threats after she took aim at her school’s anti-gun policies in a photo shoot where she carried an AR-10 and wore a cap that said, “Come and take it.”



Kaitlin Bennett, a 22-year-old Second Amendment supporter from Zanesville, Ohio and founder of Liberty Hangout at Kent State, a student media outlet that promotes libertarian values, posed in front of the Kent Student Center for the tweet that has gone viral.


“Now that I graduated from @KentState, I can finally arm myself on campus. I should have been able to do so as a student – especially since 4 unarmed students were shot and killed by the government on this campus. #CampusCarryNow,” she posted on Twitter Sunday.

Bennett told Fox News she wanted to condemn the school’s “insulting” policies.

“I wanted to draw attention to the gun policies on campus that allow guests to open carry, but not students,” she said. “I find it insulting that the school values the lives of their guests more than those attending the university for four years.”

The university has a rule against students, faculty, and staff carrying “deadly weapons.” But Kent State University spokesman Eric Mansfield told Fox News that because Bennett is no longer a student, she violated no policies.


“After graduation, she joined the ranks of our proud graduates,” Mansfield said. “So at the time of this photo, she and other graduates would be permitted to open carry on our campus.”


Mansfield noted that KSU has a full-time, certified police force of more than 30 sworn officers who protect the campus and the university was recently ranked the safest big college campus in Ohio and the 25th safest in the country, according to National Council for Home Safety and Security.

Bennett said even though she’s received death threats because of her post, she has no regrets.

“I have no apologies for my graduation photos,” she tweeted Tuesday. “As a woman, I refuse to be a victim & the second amendment ensures that I don't have to be.”

In another tweet, she made it clear her gun is an AR-10 and not an “assault rifle” as many had claimed.

“Don’t talk about gun control,” Bennett wrote, “when you can’t even get your facts straight.”

When one person, or group decides what others need or want, I just wonder where their authority lies. The second amendment is clear. The first amendment is clear. They are both under attack now. I've not seen conservatives burning buildings when their feelings were hurt. I've not seen conservatives need cry rooms and safe spaces at colleges. Before Obama I never saw masked thugs rioting in the US. I personally would never want to harm anyone. When one obtains a concealed carry permit, they are taught to avoid confrontation in any way possible. You can't even show a firearm without possibly being charged with aggravated assault. You can't use deadly force to protect your property. You can only use it if your life is in immediate danger. We understand that. At the same time, If you break into my locked house, you have a high chance of leaving horizontal. If I leave horizontal, there will be empty brass next to my body. At least I had a chance.
