Roy Price of Amazon has now been sucked into this vacuum and has been put on "indefinite leave" for his indiscretions as exposed by Rose McGowan who is nothing more than a victim here and a whistleblower.

Amazon suspends studio chief amid Weinstein scandal
Amazon has put the head of its video content service on leave after he became embroiled in the widening scandal surrounding the disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein.

Roy Price, who is in charge of Amazon Studios, is accused of sexually harassing Isa Hackett, the producer of one its best known shows, The Man in the High Castle. The actor Rose McGowan also claimed Price ignored her claim that Weinstein had raped her.

Amazon announced that Price had been placed on an immediate leave of absence, while it investigated the allegations. Price has yet to comment.

Amazon also said it was considering scrapping two projects it was working on with the Weinstein Company, which sacked Harvey Weinstein, one of its founders, earlier this week after he was accused of sexual harassment and assault by several actors.

The projects are the The Romanoffs, with the Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, and an untitled drama starring Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore.

Hackett, daughter of the late science fiction writer Philip K Dick, alleged that Price repeatedly propositioned her on the way to, and during, an Amazon party in 2015. She told the industry trade magazine the Hollywood Reporter that Price had said: “You will love my dick.” She said after she made clear she had a wife and children, Price loudly suggested “anal sex”, within earshot of several others at the gathering.

Hackett added that when she told Amazon about the incident it hired external investigators, but she was never told about the results.

Christopher Tricarico, a laywer for Hackett, said the magazine’s account of her allegations was accurate.

Price is also accused of ignoring McGowan’s allegation against Weinstein and dropping her show after she spoke up.

“I told the head of your studio that HW raped me,” she wrote in a tweet to Amazon’s CEO, using Weinstein’s initials. “Over & over I said it. He said it hadn’t been proven. I said I was the proof.” She further claimed Amazon had “won a dirty Oscar” while “funding rapists”.

The studio picked up three Oscars this year under Price’s helm.

Police in New York and London have launched investigations following the publication of a series of claims against Weinstein that go back decades.

He denies allegations of non-consensual sex.

On Wednesday he was seen in public for the first time in days when paparazzi descended upon him as he left his daughter’s home in Los Angeles.

“Guys, I’m not doing OK but I’m trying,” he said in a video obtained by ABC. “I got to get help. You know what, we all make mistakes.”

As he climbed into a large chauffeur-driven 4x4 he he said he hoped people would give him “a second chance”.

Around 30 women, including Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow, have gone public with accusations against Weinstein after an initial report by the New York Times last week. Many are calling for sweeping changes in the industry, and urging more women to speak out about harassment and abuse.

The eastern branch of the Writers Guild of America noted the scope of the problem in a statement on Thursday, writing: “Sexual harassment and assault have long been hallmarks of the entertainment industry.”

 

Ya ya ya I get it, everyone deserves a strong and vigorous defense but seriously I do not envy those that are about to bury their careers defending this guy in court and don't kid yourself, this WILL end up in court.

NY is revisiting their past files to take "another look" and at the same time this investigation has crossed the pond and Scotland Yard has entered the hunt ...

Someone better get ahold of their money to pay for costs that will be incurred to cover civil suits and other "frivolous costs".

Update: Harvey is in a ritzy elite, addiction center, he is officially a victim.

 

OK, you really have to wonder which direction some peoples' moral compasses are pointing when they decide that "ain't no big thang" if an executive repeatedly subjects the company to sexual harassment lawsuits, as long as he reimburses the company for any court judgments, plus a little "sweetener".

Harvey Weinstein may have been fired illegally by The Weinstein Company, a company that wrote a contract that said Weinstein could get sued over and over for sexual harassment and as long as he shelled out money, that was good enough for the Company.

TMZ is privy to Weinstein's 2015 employment contract, which says if he gets sued for sexual harassment or any other "misconduct" that results in a settlement or judgment against TWC, all Weinstein has to do is pay what the company's out, along with a fine, and he's in the clear.

According to the contract, if Weinstein "treated someone improperly in violation of the company's Code of Conduct," he must reimburse TWC for settlements or judgments. Additionally, "You [Weinstein] will pay the company liquidated damages of $250,000 for the first such instance, $500,000 for the second such instance, $750,000 for the third such instance, and $1,000,000 for each additional instance."

The contract says as long as Weinstein pays, it constitutes a "cure" for the misconduct and no further action can be taken. Translation -- Weinstein could be sued over and over and as long as he wrote a check, he keeps his job.

The contract has specific language as to when the Board of Directors can fire Weinstein -- if he's indicted or convicted of a crime, but that doesn't apply here.

There's another provision ... he can be fired for "the perpetuation by you [Weinstein] of a material fraud against the company." The question ... where's the fraud? Lance Maerov, the board member who negotiated Weinstein's 2015 contract, said in an interview -- and we've confirmed -- the Board knew Weinstein had settled prior lawsuits brought by various women, but they "assumed" it was to cover up consensual affairs. The Board's assumption does not constitute fraud on Weinstein's part.

And here's the kicker. Even if Weinstein had committed fraud by not fully informing the Board of Directors, the contract says before he can be fired he has a right to mediation and if that doesn't work, he's entitled to arbitration. He got neither. He was summarily fired, and sources connected with Weinstein tell TMZ he was never given a specific reason.

A source connected with TWC tells TMZ, the company had a right to fire Weinstein if he didn't notify the Board of Directors of settlements. We're told there have been no settlements since the contract was signed, so it would seem this clause does not apply.

Marquez says her allegations were ignored by her bosses and the media. Maybe people were “afraid of big names,” says the actress.

She accused actor Eriq La Salle and a crew member of being “p—sy grabbers” and said racial abuse about her Mexican heritage came from “Anthony,Noah,Julianna,” referring to cast members Anthony Edwards, Noah Wyle, and Julianna Margulies.

Marquez said she complained to executive producer John Wells.

Hours later, Clooney issued a rather cocky denial. “I had no idea Vanessa was blacklisted. I take her at her word,” Clooney said
