Jaden Schwartz scored with 2:27 remaining during a 4-on-4 situation and the St. Louis Blues beat the Wild 2-1 on Friday night to leave Minnesota with a 2-0 lead in the first-round series.

 

Toronto nets the winner in the 11 minute mark of the 2nd overtime to tie that series 1-1.

So Toronto gets the split so show the Caps that they can skate with them but they are still in tough.

Ottawa got back on track and beat the Bruins to tie that series 1-1 as well while Nashville hammered the Black Hawks to take a stranglehold on that series 2-0.

I mentioned the wrong game when I said Calgary was getting hammered and they just scored to tie the score 2-2 in the 2nd period.

Phaneuf nets OT winner as Sens even series
Dion Phaneuf scored the overtime winner as the Ottawa Senators beat the Boston Bruins 4-3 Saturday to tie their Eastern Conference quarter-final series 1-1. Phaneuf scored the winner from the point at 1:59. The Senators had rallied from a 3-1 deficit with a two-goal third period to force overtime.

Preds pound Blackhawks for 2-0 series lead
Pekka Rinne made 30 saves in his second straight shutout and picked up two assists, helping the Nashville Predators pound the Chicago Blackhawks 5-0 on Saturday night for a 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series.

Fucking Flames started out so well last night and ended up giving the game away late in the third and the overtime loss. All 4 games went into OT last night, another sign of parity. At least the other Canadian teams are all doing well so far and lead their series. The Toronto/Washington series is a little shocking ...

NHL to hold awards, expansion draft on same night
The NHL announced on Tuesday that the expansion draft for the Vegas Golden Knights will be a part of the NHL Awards show in Las Vegas on June 21. The event will take place at T-Mobile Arena, the home of the Golden Knights when they play their inaugural season this fall.
