1-1 in Anaheim.
Even though they are playing in Anaheim there is a sea of red which is playing right into the Flames hands as that is their claim to fame on home ice. Anaheim is in their home black uniforms ...
Still locked at 1 halfway through the 2nd period.
So Netta and Emilie both got evicted tonight but Netta goes to Jury.
I can smell an ignored rat hiding in some thick socks LOL.
3-2 Anaheim after 2 periods. Hell of a hockey game so far.
Calgary is killing themselves with penalties and just killed one of 7 so far. Anaheim scored on 2 of them to take the lead though and less than 7 minutes left in the 3rd.
Fuck around, no sooner do I mention it and Calgary takes another stupid crosschecking penalty as a retaliation for one of his players getting rocked by Getzlaf.
You have to wonder sometimes and can see that some of these guys are still young and learning. Anaheim had a powerplay and had worn the Flames penalty killers down and as Calgary killed off the penalty some dummy on Anaheim iced the puck which allowed the Flames to make a line change. Had they played on they would have outpowered the tired penalty killers and made a good scoring opportunity.
Now Calgary goes on the PP with 3 minutes left. Actually it will be a 5 on 3 for Calgary with a second highsticking penalty. Here is their last kick at the can ...
WOW, Calgary threw everything including the kitchen sink at them but just couldn't punch it on as the puck sat on the goal line.
17 seconds left.
So all first games are in the books as the Flames fall 3-2 in a hard fought game.
