Okay now for something a little more civil than normal ......... hockey is a gentlemens game and this is proof positive.

The whole thing is good but pay special attention to the 2:30 mark and the beating that the whole team gives this fan.

Oh ya ........ it's set to Guns and Roses so crank it.

Shanahan is being aware but cautious in his handing out suspensions due to "illegal" hits and a good example was in the game last night between the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators. Shea Weber was fined $2,500 from a hit to Jannik Hansen behind the net and assessed a boarding call as well as a 2 minute unsportsmanlike conduct penalty due to the hit but a suspension will not be handed out. Shani said that a players history is taken into consideration in cases like this and Weber is not a repeat offender but is now aware that he is on the radar.

Zach Parise scored a sweet shorthanded goal on a penalty shot for New jersey against San Jose tonight but let them back into the game and San Jose took the win in a shoot-out to avoid their 4th loss in a row. Joe Thornton marked the occasion with a goal in his 1000th game of his career with 1004 points total.

Wow ......... you have to love the Montreal Canadiens fans. They are ready to run their Habs out of town already after only a few games, granted the Habs suck shit so far but seriously they should let them get their stride for at least 10 games before they make them walk the plank. :excited:

On a Winnipeg Jets note, Dustin Byfuglien was charged last month with boating while intoxicated three weeks after his arrest in Minnesota. He admitted taking muscle relaxants as well but refused a breath alcohol test. Just what a guy needs, if the booze isn't doing the trick ......... pop a few pills and get the party started. It's probably lucky that he got stopped before he ended up killing the 3 people in the boat with him but if it were only him, he would have done the world a favor. Seriously how much shit can one guy get himself into and he is definitely not a good example for a "professional" athlete. He passed a breathalyser test but refused to give a urine sample and has also been charged for that as well as boating infractions.

The one thing that troubles me is :

I've got a lot of respect for Parise and all but don't you know that Flyers fans are supposed to hate the Devils?

    Fuckin' Scott Stevens.

I know but it was such a sweet goal and penalty shots are always exciting.

My main focus though was the accomplishment of Joe Thornton who has been such a clutch player all these years.

Good to see Scott Hartnell back on the ice and tearing it up after earlier this season having heart concerns as Philly took out Toronto last night 4 - 2.

Jagr had a sweet break away goal late in the game to seal it for them.

Goaltending kept this one from being a runaway as Toronto was good in the pipes.

I can't believe I am going to say this and don't expect me to repeat it.

The Edmonton Oilers are playing some seriously fun hockey and gave Vancouver a quick lesson tonight and if I'm not mistaken, they pulled Luongo.

Columbus beat of all teams Detroit for their first win of the season as well.

Pronger is recovering from his eye injury but will miss 2 - 3 weeks just to make sure. There is never a good time for something like this to happen but my Flyers are motoring along without him right now but he will be needed in the crunch.

Anyone happen to be watching any of the Edmonton Oiler games?

These guys are playing some great hockey and their goaltending has been excellent as well.

They look like they are having fun out there and that's what hockey is supposed to be about.

PS ......... I still wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire though.

After a terrible start, Winnipeg is getting their legs and are a respectable 5-6-2 so far but are in tough against the Rangers tonight. 2-0 with 6 to go in the third. They are actually tied with Montreal in the standings right now.

PS ......... Calgary is in Colorado for a divisional game and it's 2-1 Flames with 12 to go in the second. I have the game on TV here so I can keep curiousgirl updated if my Xmas wish for her will comes true tonight. I'm sure you could hear a mouse fart in the stands though ... where is all the noise for a near full arena. Hmmmm.

Ya, I know the Flames well but don't need to cheer for them though. My Flyers on the other hand, that I cheer for and that 9-2 win last night was a slaughter against Columbus.

Washington, Edmonton and Philly are all tied for 5th place right now. Edmonton, did I read that right, lol. They are playing some great hockey but their streak was ended last night by the Coyotes.

Sorry cg ........ no Xmas present tonight. The Flames played scrooge this time, lol.

    Flames 2 Avalanche 1

Btw ... this was Calgary's 8th win in a row against Colorado.

Kipper was incredible in the pipes and this could have been a Colorado blowout if not for him and a couple good saves by the defense as well.

Scary moment in the Rangers/Jets game tonight that saw a 3 - 0 win for NY.

Dan Girardi was checked awkwardly into the corner boards with a check and went down in a way that it was lucky he didn't go head first and good to see him get up from it after he shook it off.

Checks like that scare the shit out of me and are career enders at times, glad this one worked out okay but I'm sure he will be icing a few spots tonight.

Out with the old and in with the old, lol.

St. Louis Blues have fired coach Davis Payne and replaced him with Ken Hitchcock today.
