I was not at Charlottesville, but I agree with Trump that both sides were guilty of violence. From what I have read about it, it seems that antifa initiated the use of violence.

Although Republican politicians and commentators have condemned the alt right, I do not believe any Democrat leaders have condemned antifa.

Democrat leaders have generally been supportive of Black Lives Matter, even though violence often follows BLM demonstrations.
