I am setting here having a few drinks and got to thinking.
What is more important to you, honesty or political party?

This may come as a surprise to some but I am 67 years old and have only voted once in my life. That was in the 1970s sometime. I registered as an independent. My parents were both democrats. My mother used to say she was a yeller dog democrat. My father was pretty much the same until he got older. In the area I lived there was only one family that was republican. They were not a very popular family.

I really didn't see any difference in democrats and republicans. From what I could see the people were not really important to either party. My life didn't change when a different party was in power.

Now that I am older I base my political opinion on who I think cares more for the people. I do not plan on ever voting again but I do have a preference. Honesty is something I value more as I get older. The person who I think is the most honest is my preference, no matter which party they belong to.

In my short time back on the forum this time I can see people have a very strong preference in political parties.
What I would like to know which is the most important, honesty or political party?

 

The democrats are not honest. Look what they did to Sanders.
The Republicans are not much better.

 

I only care about the Constitution.

If you're never going to vote again why do you participate in so much political "discussion"?

It seems pointless to me. At least when we exercise our right to vote we have a chance to change the status quo. It's like trying to change something without taking any action whatsoever.

I still have an opinion even if I decide not to vote.
There has only been one man I thought deserved my vote so far.
The rest I would not vote for. That included republicans and democrats.
I would have voted this time but I already knew who was going to win.
He didn't need my vote. He had enough already.

Too many people think they have to vote. Some do not vote for a person, they vote against the other person.
I am more honest than that. If there isn't anyone who I feel I could vote for I would not vote.
Some vote for the party. Again I could not do that because it doesn't make you a better person just because you belong to a certain party.

We don't have enough honest people running for office and have a very large shortage of honest voters.

 

I vote based upon my own personal beliefs. Whichever candidate is closest to my beliefs gets my vote.
