If you think that you are so intuitive, let me ask you this:

Is there a sock account connected to this one?.

 

Let me tell you...it's not against the rules to have sock accounts.

 

I highly doubt that. They may all share the same ideology, but they're not the same person. Their thought patterns and writing styles vary significantly.

 

Actually the first thing I look for is familiarity.As in does the tone, sentence structure, words and phrases, and theme seem familiar. And also does a new "poster" seem to be already familiar with the forum and its members. And as soon as they start referencing past discussions, events, or members its a dead giveaway.

I also look for "members" who constantly reinforce other members and follow the exact same themes and have the same method of operation; i.e. posting attack threads, telling the same lies, and making threats they can't or won't ever back up. Those are rather uncommon traits and usually point to the same member.

And another thing I look for is the false right wing propaganda talking points of the day. Which is just obvious if you frequent the comments sextons of several other sites. Because they will normally be fairly consistent with like minded posters but as soon as something damaging comes out about Trump those comments start getting flooded with pro-Trump comments, and a constant theme we see here, of trying to change the subject from Trump to Hillary Clinton and/or President Obama. And another thing they have in common are pushing already debunked lies that have been proven to be lies over and over again. And as soon as I see someone here posting the latest right wing false talking points of the day here before they appear anyplace else its another dead giveaway.

Then there are the posters who claim to have jobs and yet are here posting during what would be working hours. And maybe they do have spare time to be doing that. But in almost every workplace I know of accessing a pron site at work even using your own devices will get you fired. And actually in many cases just being a member of a porn site can get you fired and there are constant examples of people getting fired for what they post on social media on or off work. And a porn forum would be right at the top of the list.

I also look for members who claim to be just normal good old common folks and yet they display very uncommon skill when it comes to posting really slick graphics and just generally have a "slick" quality to their posts. And "slick" is a journalistic term for what they used to call the "slick" magazines which would be magazines like Life and Time for example whose pages literally felt slick compared to the cheaper more course magazines printed on more like pulp paper. And the term "slick" eventually evolved to mean a high degree of professionalism.

Finally I also go back to something an incredible member called ThornyRose posted years ago. He was a professional photographer and journalist who also did professional PR work for a few companies. And one day he noticed something that was brand new, phenomenal, and actually disturbing. And that was he uncovered OVER 3,000 new PR firms that were employed by mostly GOP members of congress, and quite typically in many cases the PR firms were actually owned and operated by some family member and/or friend. And they were pouring literally millions of dollars into these PR firms and almost all of them were pushing false right wing propaganda and fake news. And that was really different. Something that never happened before in those kinds of numbers. Which has literally expoloded since then to include entire websites dedicated to spreading fake news, companies like Fox and politicians employing astroturf posters to spread fake news or positive propaganda about them. And of course the latest addition of Russian using paid posters to spread fake news and influence US elections.

 

This is the first time we have disagreed. But one thing I would point out is that one of the goals of socks is to try very hard to vary how and what they post from their other accounts. But that is actually a very hard thing to do. And if you observe them over time they slip up and similarities emerge.

@stumbler: I never thought of what I was doing on my phone being an issue, but you raise a valid point. I will have to limit my time to lunch and breaks. If I were to get fired, then I'd be on here all the time.

Maybe this is my learning disability talking but how do you actually know, without a doubt, that someone is a sock or that a sock account belongs to a particular person. Is it something that you realize/figure out after spending enough time here?

Is there any credibility to what @CassandraSaturn is assuming?

 

Cassandra Saturn strikes me as an attention whore. A flashy maybe, and people might like that, but still an attention whore. She may be telling the truth about herself, but she goes about it in such an in your face way (I'M A GIRL, AND A GAMER! AND I HAVE SOO MANY FANS, PEOPLE THINK THERE'S A CARTOON ABOUT ME) that at time I find her repugnant.

And then she'll post something serious and thought provoking in sexuality about gender. So it's a mixed bag but mostly I find her annoying. She presents herself as a cartoon/video game character, when she's neither. I imagine in some people's opinions she's not even a real woman, as she's open about her transgender status, but that isn't an issue for me.

Is she a sock? How the fuck do I know. I think I might have found her posing as a girlfriend and her own mother but I can't say for certain...

Credibility? I think she's have more credibility if she didn't pretend to be a fictional character, but so many of us are fictional characters here. I guess my issue is that she's so blatant about it. She lacks subtlety and finesse. I suppose making those accusations makes me a pretentious shit, doesn't it?

 

I can never see the point of "Sock" accounts..I didn't even know that they existed and that people had them till I came here to XNXX..maybe its a unique phenomena to this forum but it seems like a truck load of work keeping up the pretext and a whole lot of energy to maintain them..Only one question..Why bother, if you want to argue then just argue, if your argument is good enough then you shouldn't require an alter ego to bolster your argument..Maybe it's a "Bully" thing but it's lost on me and to be honest I won't give it another thought..it just isn't worth it.

Remember a few days ago when we had to sign in each time we came to the forum?
Anyone notice something that happened at the same time?
Certain members who had always posted at the same time as their buddies were not anywhere to be found.
It would take some time for them to sign and post bullshit supporting each other.
That is a sure indication of a sock. For them to post as their sock they were automatically signed out.
Then the sock had to sign out before they could sign in to post bullshit supporting their sock.

If you want to know who is a sock all you have to do is look back.

I don't know. She may be right. She may be wrong. I haven't paid enough attention to Jdbfromnj to get a feel for his style of posting. Mr. Smith is a sock because he's said as much but he could have been lying just for drama.

As for you having socks? Again I don't know. I hate politics and GD is so full of political shit it just blurs together. You tend to post in political threads and if I'm remembering correctly tend to lean towards republican sympathies, but so many people here do I can't say for certain. I don't know if the people she's listed are your socks. I can't know.

 

I think most people would find this unbelievable of a few counts. One who that uses the internet of just even watches TV doesn't already know posting on a porn forum or even social media for that matter during working hours won't get you fired? Second, many employers especially those involving sales really frown on their employees frequenting porn sites. And third posting from a phone is a lot harder than using a keyboard. So making lots of posts in rapid succession with no typos would be very difficult if not impossible.

And don't you know it. Especially when they post multiple of threads per day that hardly anyone even responds to. But the ones who get me the most are the socks that get banned for things like posting multiple racist threads. And then within a matter of days they are back posting the same racist bullshit. And they never seem to really leave.

And SliverLycan if someone asked me to name a counter to my sock criteria you would literally be one of the ones that come to mind. And that is exactly because of your learning disability. I don't think your individual style can be duplicated and I don't think you can pretend to be someone else. Every post I've ever seen from you has a very distinct and unique tone and voice. And not that you don't make sense and at times are even quite profound. Its just that you have your own style that is just a little bit different than everyone else.

But as far how can you know if someone is a sock without a doubt? You can't. Or certainly I can't. I know better than anyone I am not as smart as I think I am and am often wrong. So the best I can do is base my idea of who I think the socks are on what I see as a preponderance of the evidence at the time. But that evidence doesn't really mean anything to anyone else but me. And I have to admit even to myself I could be wrong.
