In 1996-98 the very same women who want Trump removed were the first backers of Bubba Clinton. The word was " this is an attempt to overturn an election." Ms. Paula Jones and several more accused him of what is now called sexual harassment. Piglossy, James Carville, Chuck Schumer, and the card carrying liberturds demanded that Bubba was above the law. If that was true then and he wasn't removed from office then they can't turn around and demand that Trump step down. Only thing different is this time a Clinton got fucked.

 

I hold Kennedy's womanizing against him, but it does not seem that he was guilty of making "unwanted sexual advances." With Kennedy the advances seem to have been wanted, longed for in advance, and often enticed.

They were right. Clinton was above the law. Nothing has changed. If a person did what Clinton did they would not ever be able to run for office.

If you favor Republican approaches (small government, strong military, low taxes for companies and people, gun rights, protecting our borders, etc.) then you vote for a Republican even if he or she is a slimeball. Ditto for the other side, if you hate free enterprise, don't want any guns, want to let all the poor downtrodden masses into the country without regard for pesky things like the law, and want a diminished military, "free" health care for everyone including illegals, and confiscatory taxation. Anyway, not the way it ought to be, just the way it is. It has nothing to do with morality. Remember too that the libs are on a quest to eliminate Trump. That's all they care about. They will eat their own to make it happen. So sacrificing a few Al Frankens is just par for the course to then go after "sleazeball" Trump. We are all sexual animals, and sometimes that translates into weakness that can be exploited for political gain. Sad commentary on our society.

Military spending adds to the size and cost of government. If it is not paid for by taxes it has to be paid for with borrowed money.

You and I are old enough to remember the War in Vietnam. That was colossally expensive, and a colossal mistake. The War in Vietnam causes me to question the level of military spending.

I would argue further that the Cold War was a colossal mistake. Neither the Soviet Union nor the United States wanted to conquer the other. We each feared that the other side wanted to conquer us. Therefore we took defensive measures which were seen by the other side as preparations for an invasion.

During the Second World War the Soviet Union lost an estimated 28 million dead, and the destruction of one third of its industrial and farm plant. No country so devastated was about to launch on a campaign of world conquest. Sure, the Russians wanted their way of life to spread throughout the world. So did we.

It remains the case that military spending is government spending, and that it must be paid for with taxes or borrowed money. Cutting taxes while raising defense spending, which Republicans have done since Reagan, is fiscally irresponsible. Even so, Republicans still have the nerve to complain about deficits while raising military spending and cutting taxes for the rich.

Nevertheless, I do not want Trump to resign, at least until he has been discredited in the eyes of most of the white blue collar workers who voted for him.

 

A former congressional aide Friday accused Rep. Bobby Scott, D-Va., of sexually harassing her and claimed she was fired and blackballed from further work on Capitol Hill when she refused his advances.

Legal powerhouse Lisa Bloom tried to line up big paydays for women who were willing to accuse President Trump of sexual misconduct during the final months of last year’s election, according to an explosive report.

The Hill reported Friday that Bloom worked with campaign donors and tabloid media outlets to arrange compensation for the alleged victims and a commission for herself, offering to sell their stories. In one case, Bloom reportedly arranged for a donor to pay off one Trump accuser’s mortgage and attempted to score a six-figure payment for another woman. The former ultimately declined to come forward after being offered $750,000, the clients told The Hill.
