Will new stories continue to be posted at this present time?

 

i not sure this is the right place to ask this

got a few ideas/comlaints
i really dislike the way this sight searches either for movies or stories. im used to being able to narrow the search by adding more words. (honestly it doesnt make sense the way it is right now at least to me)
also it would be nice if there was a brief decription(you know to a hook to get you interested) of the story made by the auther or a qulified editor of some kind. some stories arent worth reading.(its mean but true)

i had another idea cant remember what it was at the moment will try to think of it if any one in charge is even reading this.

Well that sucks. The underage stories are why I cum here. Otherwise this site is the same as all the other crap story sites.

Am I being dense?

Posting this notice at the top of the first page of the Stories Site seems like a good idea at first glance, and it may ease the conscience of the site owner, but does it really solve anything?

The phrase "clearly pedophile stories" still doesn't set any specific guidelines. Does that mean a story with an adult and someone under the age of eighteen? Or sixteen? Or fourteen? Or does it only refer to stories with adults preying upon pre-adolescents? Or pre-schoolers? Or infants? Does it also include stories that do not involve adults at all in the sexual acts, thoughts, or feelings, such as coming-of-age stories?

The notice provides a link for people to use to report unacceptable stories. It also asks for specific citations of the offending passages. Does a phrase such as "Her father had noticed she was developing into a beautiful young woman who some day, when she reached adulthood, would be as sexy as her mother," pass muster as a pedophile phrase?

How young is too young? What, in the collective minds of the admins/owners, is "clearly pedophile"?

Asking the readers to report the stories makes sense, but they've opened a can of worms by not defining their terms.

And why do they, as they put it, have to do this?
What is the deal with that?

     Clearly, the administrators are leaving the rule intentionally ambiguous, so that they can exercise discretion and use their own common sense.
 
 
     I, for one, like it. The ambiguity of the rule behooves contributors to exercise their own common-sense judgment. Yet it also allows the site to use discretion in the publication of material that has literary merit. Are we not, as authors, sick and tired of seeing ultra-stringent and literal rules that preclude one from posting real literature? How many places have we seen, where it is impossible to post Innocent Erendira, by Nobel winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez, or Lolita, by Nabokov?
     
     The great thing about this rule is that it allows, in principle, the possibility that the likes of Marquez or Nabokov could successfully slum it here. I like it. I like it a lot.

Hmmm, I hadn't thought of it that way. You're obviously a "glass-is-half-full" kind of person. I hope you're right.

My cynicism makes me wonder, though, if the exact ambiguity you praise doesn't also leave the door wide open for the "Moral Minority" to completely overwhelm the censors with reports of everything that doesn't meet their own, narrow standards.

I sure wouldn't want to be the one that has to wade through all of this, making judgement calls.

Amen to that last sentence, wsf.....I for one do NOT envy ejls, smc, and the rest. They must have gone through a crate of Ibuprofen in these last weeks.

 

See? That's what I'm talking about. Kay mentions babies. OK, no argument from me. My own standards don't allow me to read or write about pre-teens, let alone infants and toddlers. If THAT'S what all this fuss is about, I'll shut up.

But what about someone on the eve of their 18th birthday? Or is it 16th? Or 14th?

 

Yeah, and they're not even the ones who are going to be dealing with the Stories site!
