I have stories in more than one genre but I'll stop submitting ANY if I'm prevented from just one. I'm not totally sure, but I think he was responding to another member by the name of SpecialKay. She has been quite vocal about having this particular genre removed. SSB doesn't normally go off on people he doesn't know. K was a coincidence.

Even if it all had to go through the legal department any normal company would have made the announcement when the i's were dotted and the t's were crossed so we can only assume that those who made the announcement are not those who will be carrying it out

 

Well you've got me confused.

There is no contract between the site owners and we story submitters so there is no need for legal opinion there, nor is there any between the surfers and the site owner, so no need for legal opinion there, the site is looking at bringing in "edgy" porn to more restrained limits and even thought they are retreating they need to consult the legal team.

Why?

 

But there are legal ramifications when doing international business, which this company does. I'm just saying that until the administration comes out with hard and fast rules, we should be patient. Let them run their business the way they see fit.

 

I do not understand why so many believe that a FREE porn site owes them anything.

First off that is what some of the writers here, good ones too , are doing.

Second do you not understand how it feels to put large amounts of effort into writing a story, or a number of stories , posting them here because you were of the understanding that they were welcome as were you only to find now "they were never welcome but, um we never read the bloody things so we had no idea what was there?"

Now we have Special K and friends running round with their torches and pitchforks harrassing writers and we still have the message on the front page. So now after putting so much work into the story site we are told you're just a pack of sicko perverts take your revolting stories and we will replace them all with wholesome extracts from selected Mills and Boon novels.

Does anybody know what's up with the change on the author's page where the story was previously listed as "validated" with a date and now is listed as "Published" in bold, with the date?

When I logged in and went to my own author's page, I noticed this change. It seems that it was done since I logged on yesterday, as I seem to remember it saying "validated". Lately, because of the change in rules, I've been watching my stories to see if they'd be deleted so I noticed it.

Anybody have a clue?

I'm afraid that I feel "validated" means the story was checked for content (which - I'll bet - they never really did) and "published" now means that THEY own the rights to YOUR story.

A fast one is being pulled here. The old "bait and switch" routine. Get us all worked up about censoring our stories and then STEAL them while we are all looking the other way.

 

This is actually correct, and that would explain the whole situation of why it had to change, because they cant be seen to PUBLISH any stories with paedophilia. i think a re-read of the terms and conditions are in order, to find out whether we still own our own stories..
