I may look up the actual stories later but just as examples of how bad Trump's mental illness is getting he goes around the White House screaming at TV sets, and he keeps interrupting meetings by blurting out I am not under investigation out of nowhere. And he can't stop doing those things and nobody else can get him to stop either.

 

And here I thought everyone screamed at their TV's occasionally.

Back in 1964, a whole bunch of psychiatrists decided they would like to psychoanalyze Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. The result was what's known as the "Goldwater Rule."

Well, that's not technically what the rule is all about. In fact, it states:

On occasion psychiatrists are asked for an opinion about an individual who is in the light of public attention or who has disclosed information about himself/herself through public media. In such circumstances, a psychiatrist may share with the public his or her expertise about psychiatric issues in general. However, it is unethical for a psychiatrist to offer a professional opinion unless he or she has conducted an examination and has been granted proper authorization for such a statement.

The short version: It's okay to talk about psychiatric issues — but not okay to diagnose people you haven't treated.

The American Psychiatric Association first began to follow the rule in 1973, but given recent events, it saw fit Wednesday to remind psychiatrists across the United States that the rule exists and must be followed.

"The unique atmosphere of this year’s election cycle may lead some to want to psychoanalyze the candidates," Maria A. Oquendo, president of the APA, wrote, "but to do so would not only be unethical, it would be irresponsible."

 

Also, I wonder if medical ethics would require disclosure of political affiliation.

You post something from nearly a year ago while I have posted numerous articles on this very thread of multiple mental health professionals who have come out and publicly stated the "Goldwater Rule" cannot be applied in Trump's case because his mental illness is both so pronounced and dangerous they must sound the alarm. Because Trump is after all Commander in Chief and has access to the nuclear codes. So some antiquated rule can't be applied when the safety and security of the w0rld is at stake..

 

Oh well then, as long as they come right out and say "Rules be damned!", just like when the NY Times admitted "we can't kill the beast and at the same time keep our journalistic ethics intact, so instead of admitting defeat, we'll toss ethics out the window, then I guess it makes it OK. (And so what if we vote Democrat?!)

 

I don't blame the PR hacks and their many many socks and the Trump supporters for constantly trying to change the suject about Trump's mental illness. All the other things that get him removed from office take a huge amount of time., But as soon as congress admits the obvious that Trump is in fact mentally ill he will be removed from office immediately.And as his mental health continues to deteriorate it could be any day now.

And I sure don't have much sympathy for you and your healthcare costs if you are making that much money. Getting health insurance through the ACA allowed my wife to retire early and my daughter having health insurance through the ACA is absolutely essential for her health.

Also I am very curious. Didn't you say you worked for a healthcare company? What kind of corporation like that does not provide health care insurance? That seems unbelievable to me.

 

I moved back to NJ in 2016, so I needed to enroll in Obamacare, otherwise I would have been penalized come tax time. I now have insurance through my employer beginning in 2017, so I was able to drop Obamacare.

 

Why did you have to enroll in the ACA? Were you unemployed? And if so why didn't you just take COBRA from your former employer? And gee if you hate the ACA so much and your costs went up 400% why didn't you just take the tax penalty which is actually really small compared to the costs you are claiming?

And during my time reporting on my own newspaper I often used anonymous and/or unnamed sources. And that was especially true when I was running a series of articles about the corruption of one of our town councilmen., And everything I wrote was ture and he was eventually removed from office and had to pay some restitution to keep from getting charged with crimes.

Also most of the reporting on Watergate used unnamed and anonymous sources and those stories were also true and resulted in Nixon being removed from office. So your laughable bullshit isn't going to work here. In fact they are really foolish.
