This is a quote straight from the APA website its self on this issue as i said earlier no real therapist makes a real diagnoses without see the patient in person. By the way of all the sites i have read about this story the site you link to is the only one using the term leading experts. You have names like Bandy Lee, an assistant professor in forensic psychiatry at yale shes a assistant thats it nothing more yea she has a MD in psychiatry but so do 36,000 other MDs in America yes that number comes straight from the APA so 27 out 36,000.

It is no secret what you think about Trump. I don't even disagree with some of it. You research and post things that lean towards the way you believe. That is fine, at least you will take the time to look something up. My problem is that you are ignoring a glaring problem here. None of these "Experts" have even met the man. This makes their statements nothing but conjecture.

If I posted a story of 27 "experts" from different fields of research, that acknowledge they have never met the man, who then claim that Donald Trump is the epitome of sound mental health, then go on to do interviews and write a book... What do you think your response would be? What if it were 270 experts? Or 2,700? It wouldn't change a thing, and I think you would still call bullshit, and I would too. It is impossible to say he is mentally sound without meeting him.

You are letting your hatred for the man cloud your (usually) better judgment. There is another member here who loves to claim that conjecture and opinions are fact. That guy is an idiot. Do you really want to align yourself with him?

There are plenty of reasons to dislike and disagree with the POTUS, but to listen to unsound theories, from people who are looking for their 15 minutes of fame, and who go against the APA guidelines, seems more like emotion than rational thought.

You apparently have very serious reading comprehenson problems. The atmosphere of fear is referring to recognizing Trump's forms of mental illness and being afraid of what he might do. Including their dire warning that due to his mental illness and his need to maintain his delusional version of reality the more he fails and the more reality closes in on him the more dangerous he becomes up to and including starting a war just to try and change the subject.

And the hundreds of communications refers to hundreds of mental health care professionals who were unable to attend the conference but called, mailed, and/or emailed to say they are also concerned about the signs and symptoms of Trump's mental illness and think something needs to be done to protect the nation and in fact the world.

No you are missing the crucial point here. These mental health professionals as well as many many more are basing their diagnosis on several things. First their expertise in diagnosing mental health problems. And then what they are seeing in Trump's speeches, on TV, on Twitter, in his speech patterns, on his delusions, on the way he strikes out at people and countries, on his constant lying, and on his refusal to accept reality. As they point out those are things all of us can see. But since they are trained professionals they see the signs and symptoms of profound and dangerous mental illness average people don't see. And that is perfectly reasonable and logical. It is not hyperbole or politics to them. It is what trained professional mental health experts see and want to sound the alarm about.

And yes if 27 mental health experts said this about anyone, including President Obama, I would take notice and be concerned. But especially these particular 27 mental health experts because I have been aware of some of them and their work for decades. So they really got my attention.

Also lets just stop pretending that its only these 27 mental health experts that are sounding the alarm. Because there are many many more that have also expressed concern.
