Two things bother me regarding the past to confirmation hearings regarding supreme court judges. First, Manny on the left one confirmation how these charges would rule regarding some issues. If someone is willing to tell you how they will roll before hearing the arguments means that they have a predetermined ruling in other words they are not qualified to be a judge. Asking the person if they will go and overturn a law should be grounds for dismissal.

I want a person that will listen to both sides of the argument if a case is brought up to the supreme court. Wanting a nominee to confirm that he will uphold and existing law is asking the person not to do his/her job.

The other thing that I find disturbing is the notion that overturning existing laws that have been in place for 30 or 40 years is considered to be a threat to our freedom. Again, I suggest we need to hear an argument for the pros and cons first. But let’s think about it, what makes this country great is that we have the ability to change the laws that we feel are not appropriate in today’s time. Case in point, if we believe a law that was on the books for 50 or 100 years should not be changed then we would not be where we are today. Slavery, woman’s rights and many of the freedoms we enjoy today we would not have if we believe that we cannot and should not overturn laws that are currently in place.

Shooter watched some of the hearing.
He is pleased.
The unsupporters have resorted to their standard "we got nothing else" ploy of disrupting the process, using outrageous tactics to delay, obscure and dismiss a process that they all know and otherwise use to their advantage.

Their demand that the hearing be delayed because they "just got the documents" they hope will provide smoking gun evidence of a reason to not confirm Kavanaugh is typical stuff.

They already got the juiciest bit; the man charged thousands of dollars to his credit card for baseball tickets. Shooter thinks this alone should be enough (in Democrats minds) to upset the nomination.

No matter. They will continue to express outrage, froth and spew all things Trump, and try to disrupt the proceedings because they already know Kavanaugh will be confirmed and there is no good reason not to. Other than, you know, Trump.

But, America is watching. And taking note. More butt hurt Democratic bullshit. Mid terms are less than 2 months away.

If laws should be changed, I think that should be left up to the voters, and the politicians they elect.

I am neither pro choice, nor am I pro life. I favor abortion because it has beneficial eugenic effects.

(For the record, I support capital punishment on a massive scale.)

Nevertheless, I never liked the Roe vs Wade Decision of 1973. I believe that an issue that continues to be so emotional should be decided democratically. If Kavanaugh helps the Supreme Court overturn the Roe decision, the results will be interesting to watch. Some states will outlaw all abortions, and punish women who have abortions, along with abortion doctors. Other states, like California, will enshrine abortion rights at any time in pregnancy in their state constitutions.

 

Well, the Democrats and their supporters have been spewing that Kavanaugh will;
1) Overturn Roe V Wade
2) The LGBTQ community will be forced undergound, denied the right to marry, vote, or order wedding cakes.
3) The old will be forced into death camps
4) The poor will be poorer
5) Minorities will be segregated again and forced out of schools
6) Immigrants will be denied ……….. everything
7) Any hope of criminal charges for Trump, or impeachment, will be lost.

And so forth

But of greater import, if Kavanaugh is confirmed, the Democrats and their supporters say,
1) One will have to be white, rich, male, and a Republican to have any freedom at all.

And Democrats STILL hope to take at least the house in the mid terms.

Sasse said it best. Congress makes the laws and the courts interprets the law, the executive branch enforces the law.

The Dems have nothing but to try to delay and scare the public with lies. I would love to know how many of them actually read or even reviewed any of the documents they already have. After all , they didn’t have time nor did they feel it was necessary to read the 2,700 pages of Obamacare.

Begging the question; is this as low as the Democrats will go, or do they have even more skullduggery planned?

Shooter thinks, they got more planned, all of it about as effective as a condom in a labor room.

 

Unfortunately I think the Dems will keep diving lower and lower. The best is they are only hurting themselves. I believe some are ok but the party won’t or they won’t stand on their own feet. Why is it now that everyone in each party expected to vote as their party votes?
