Kids back in high school might do stupid things. But a supreme court nominee lying about it today is something quite serious.

 

Do I want Kavanaugh in? No, I do not. Frankly, I do not care which side of the aisle is pushing for someone, above all other branches including the military, the Supreme Court MUST (though never has been) be non-partisan. They are about constitutional issues only, and for far too long political leanings and party influence has tainted the supreme court.

That said, regarding the "me too" thing and resulting issues such as this, it has gone way too far before it even started. If you go by the standard that movement demands, the human race would end this generation. Every man would justifiably, sexual inclinations or not become gay as their only option at physical sexual interaction, and that would be that. Personally, I could 'me too the fuck' out of all of the me-too petitioners ten fold. I never play the 'well you were mauled but I was raped a gazillion times' deal, yet good lord, much of what many of these folks now, and for a long-long time (as this has gone on in one form or another for a few decades, date-rape a classic example wherein AFTER the gal changes her mind), is simply too far.

In fairness, it was not that long ago that it was COMMONPLACE for a woman to be sexually harassed, assaulted, coerced, forced or raped. A lot of rapes go on that ever get reported, a lot. More so, the pushback from men who like implying their sexual values upon how a woman should act and react has been a big part of the problem. So don't think this pushback or extreme swing of the pendulum is unwarranted.

However, just about any and all sexual interaction between two people by the current standard pushed for would fall under this accusation of assault. Boobs don't get groped by some gal whipping off her top and shouting "maul my boobs." They may want that, yet they still wait for the guy to make the move to do so... However, if the guy does, even if they want him too, it's now assault because he made the move without being told to. Naturally, if he doesn't then the gal calls him a pussy or gay or some other slur... If he does however, he's a masher.

It is a ridiculous situation, one wherein people simply need to remember the old standard of "no means no," and that the word "no" can't happen unless someone tries something first. At that point, he tries, as he is EXPECTED to do, she says no, and it stops (and frankly at that point the guy should go look for a different gal that says yes, vs. keeping hammering away at her until she gives in... which is just another shade of the issue). If women want men to be the aggressor, then you have to let the be allowed to be the aggressor, with the condition that they stop when told... HOWEVER, at that point, it's no harm, no foul. None of this "well I didn't want him to, didn't tell him to, so he assaulted me" nonsense.

High school, everyone drunk and acting like teenagers? I don't see much of an issue except his parents should have taught him better, and her parents should have taught her better than to go to a drunken party with four boys.

Kavanaugh should NOT be affirmed due to the fact that he is a partisan stooge who will make whatever deal he can to reach the peak of his career. This whole issue only comes up in that, that is what he is, and wrongly again, each side is pushing for their own partisan leanings because the whole fucking system is broke.

This is the Supreme Court however. The one place above all others where party bias cannot be allowed by a potential judge. On that standard alone, Kavanaugh fails... this whole thing from decades ago, is silly.

It will be interesting to see how Christian conservatives respond to this. Those people forgive any number of sins from men who are likely to overturn Roe vs Wade.

On the topic of sexual harassment, sexual abuse, and rape Christian conservatives who are sincere in their stated values should feel the same way and take the same stands as feminists.

 

I never would have thought it but it now appears Kavanaugh, Thump, and the GOP are in real trouble with this nomination.

And they might still ram it through but if they do millions of women coast to coast are going to make them pay dearly for it in November's election.

 

......... and millions of voters coast to coast are taking note of the new lows unsupporters will go to in attacking anything Trump.

Mid terms are going to be interesting.

 

You know someone is living in their own little plastic bubble when the pretend not to know women are already turning out to vote and a record number of women are running for office.

And also that Kavanaugh's approval rating actually went down after the hearings because a majority thought he was lying.

And now Kavanaugh is calling his accuser a liar. And if she seems more credible than him that is the end gate for his nomination.
