  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

So a couple of years ago I was gaining weight from a combination of medication and poor eating habits, so the doctor told me to reduce the amount of carbs I was eating. I cut out all cereal and the milk that went along with it, along with reducing myself to a single slice of bread a day (if I chose to eat any at all.), and started exercising more.

Well I'm off all meds now and lost the weight (and then some!). While I'm still exercising, I started eating dairy again and increased the amount of carbs so I don't pass out in the middle of a workout.

My god, what a mistake the dairy was. I already knew from personal history if I stop eating dairy for any length of time I'd suffer, but my body would adjust back to being able to digest it for a couple of days.

But not anymore. I appear to be incapable of digesting any amount of any substance containing lactose at all.

It's horrible, but there is a solution. There's an OTC supplement that is made with lactase enzyme and I usually (only usually) take it anytime I have something with dairy. But in all the excitement today I forgot to take it with the huge milkshake I just had.

I think I'm dying. Not literally dying but my stomach is very upset, I'm passing huge amounts of gas, and suffering severe cramps.

With any luck it was a teaching moment. I would shoot myself in the head if I became lactose intolerant, I love ice cream too much.

On a related matter I become "intolerant" when I don't get to suckle on my sweety's "milk machines".:rolleyes::)

I love ice cream too. This isn't the first time I've made this mistake, but I don't make it very often. I carry a bottle of pills with me wherever I go, in case I should decide to eat something.

I think I tend to become more intolerant whenever I haven't been milked in a while, but I think that's pretty normal.

It isn't something to be taken lightly as lactose intolerance suggests problems with the small intestine and it can happen to people that were never previously intolerant ... illness, surgery or a number of things can trigger it.

The gas is caused by fermentation ...

I've been slightly lactose intolerant since I was a child, but as long as I continued to consume dairy it was never an issue. I would go periods of time without milk and start again and have stomach troubles for a few days but it looks like I've gone without for so long that my body stopped producing lactase. The gas is caused by intestinal bacteria breaking down the lactose and producing large amounts of hydrogen. Some people produce methane as well. There's a test you can take called the hydrogen breath test that checks how much hydrogen you produce after consuming pure lactose.

LOL! Sorry, had to do it!
I can have milk in coffee, tea, or anything that only has small amounts, but anything
with a large amount of milk, or cream, and life becomes uncomfortable.
    My sympathies. :(

It usually takes a woman 3-6 months to let out a fart in bed in a new relationship whereas it usually takes a guy about 3-6 minutes lol.

Since no one else appears to be offering any suggestions, except maybe BigDDSub48, let me offer this. Almond milk. It's very tasty, very good for you and you can easily digest it. It's good in oatmeal, steel cut oats please, good in Farina, I'd cut out the cold cereal though, pure junk. If you must put milk in your coffee it's good for that. They have different flavors. For those that really like dairy but are intolerant, I will tell you a way to overcome your aversion to dairy, fish oil taken daily will end your lactose intolerance. It will take awhile, 3 to 6 months but it will end your lactose intolerance. It also will lower your cholesterol, and lower your high blood pressure. Silver, you are off to a great beginning, continue your new dietary habits and keep exercising. As you can see, it is really good for your body.

Lactose intolerance is caused by the lack of a single gene that originated in Europe about five thousand years ago, and spread because it had survival value.

There are no degrees of lactose intolerance. Some people can digest milk as adults; some cannot.

Those who cannot should switch to soy milk. However, soy milk has plant estrogen in it, so men should not drink more than a pint a day.

No no no, stay away from soy. D.L. please keep up with current scientific nutritional studies. Soy is extremely bad for humans. Recent studies have confirmed this. Almond milk has been found to be best.

Fortunately today we have otc medications for lactose intolerance and lactose free dairy options. I couldn't imagine not being able to have cream in my coffee, so I sympathize with those who are lactose intolerant.

People forget that there are simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates like white flour are immediately converted into sugar, which in excess is stored as fat in the body. Complex carbohydrates require extra work by the body to convert to sugar, thus reducing the blood sugar spikes. I've eliminated sugar and as much refined white flour as possible in my diet and have lost weight as a result.

Many medications can cause weight gain, especially anti-depressants.

    Ha!

Men can actually lactate too, though there's usually a medical reason that causes it. It's thought that early in mammalian evolution, males and females lactated to feed their young. I'm wondering if that was before or after the evolution of nipples?

I have cut out all cereal from my diet, my carbs are mostly brown rice and a little bit of whole wheat bread. When I do eat dairy, it's usually in the form of cheeses (most cheese doesn't bother me but I just found out that feta is very bad for me,), and a little bit of milk used in sauces for cooking. I take an OTC medication with the first bite of any food that has dairy in it. It's basically the lactase enzyme in pill form.

I hate almond milk. I'm very particular and fussy about food texture. Mouthfeel is very important.

I've read that lactating a small amount is not a too uncommon symptom for boys going through puberty. My nipples got sore once, but they never lactated. Still, it was annoying.

Yeah, unfortunately a lot of people are like that. Texture means a lot. I didn't like it at first either, but with time I grew used to it.

I think it was the exercising that did it for me. Once while running I felt like a black shell around me was cracking apart. Months later I felt the shell completely fall apart and I was... Better. Now I'm back in school and have a promising career to look forward too. Silver's finally doing some growing up. 'Bout fuckin' time, too.

I have an Activia yogurt every day and that helps my digestive system. Try one in the morning and one in the evening for a couple of weeks and see what happens. It helps others with lactose intolerance.;)
