Exactly what the title asks. Whats the biggest lie you've told and or been told. Most of us have the tendency to avoid awkward situations with a little small lie to get out of it which is completely understandable but thats as far as I've gone. Curious about yours.

Mine was when I was 19, this was in regards to my lets say weird...friend: "oh, yeah I got to go visit my uncle he is need of me to go paint his fence."
Haven't seen my uncle since I was seven and by the looks of his current financial situation at the time...that poor guy probably couldn't afford a fence to call his own.

There was this one time when I said yes.

 

Hell, I can't even remember the lies I was told just yesterday.
I have found it rather useless taking the time to come up with a believable lie when the person is not really listening anyway.
People just have to stop lying long enough to take a breath before continuing their lying.
It is hard to cram in a good lie in that short amount of time.

 

When I visited my parents' home to attend a high school reunion my mother made me promise to call a cab to get home. Instead I walked.

I did not consider it to be a flagrant lie, however. When I promised Mom I would call a cab, I intended to. Then I changed my mind.

 

There was the time when I told my daughter that I'm still a virgin.

 

"Honest I won't cum in your mouth" ...

 

I'll use a rubber. You can't get pregnant if I pull out. Can't remember how many times I heard those.

According to research a child learns to lie about the age of 5.
It is all just one lie after the other after that.

When you grow up with three siblings, guilt on your own and/or by association taught one how to bend the truth...at least hide the truth. Lies didn't really work. If the mother asks the kid a question, they usually already know the answer. Deceiving things, parents are....Lies to spare feelings are the acceptable ones...other than that "take the fifth" or tell the inquisitor to fuck off.
