Henry Ford kept updating the Model T from 1908 to 1927 when his son finally convinced him that it had to go. Ford would have not survived the Great Depression if it hadn't developed a new car. The Model A was so much better than the T in just about every way. The 1932 Ford V8 was superior to anything in it's price range. There comes a time when technology requires a complete restart. These days it happens a lot faster than in the past.
