Where is the thread about the riots in Missouri?
Noticed there wasn't much about them on the news also.
Everyone afraid they will be called racist if they actually know or talk about the riots?

Isn't this the thread about Missouri riots.

I think Obama did a good job in speaking of them today.

Just how big is the rock do you live under anyway? It must be very small and buried way deep. The military style police attack on peaceful protesters and members of the news media last night has dominated nearly every news channel and website all day long today. The aggressive actions of the Ferguson county and local police was addressed by President Obama today and Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has not only addressed it on national TV he has also removed the Ferguson County and municipal police from the protests and turned policing the peaceful protesters over to the Missouri Highway Patrol. It has also resulted in calls from community leaders and politicians alike for a national movement to de-militarize departments coast to coast.

And while there was some property destruction and looting on Sunday night the only people rioting, resorting to violence, and destroying property since has been the Ferguson County and municipal police.

PS If you really want to see what is happening in Ferguson you can watch it live like I did last night.

You obviously just don't watch or read the news. Its been a major story every day since Michael Brown was shot and has gotten bigger each day. Here are just a few examples from at least three days ago.

What you need to know about the death of an unarmed black teenager in Missouri

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ath-of-an-unarmed-black-teenager-in-missouri/

Eyewitness to Michael Brown shooting recounts his friend’s death

    http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/eyewitness-michael-brown-fatal-shooting-missouri

Some Ferguson, Mo., residents don't buy cops' story of fatal teen shooting

    http://www.cbsnews.com/news/michael...missouri-residents-do-not-believe-cops-story/

And if you are from New York you didn't notice the coverage in the New York Times

[h=2]The Death of Michael Brown[/h] [h=1]Racial History Behind the Ferguson Protests[/h]http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/13/opinion/racial-history-behind-the-ferguson-protests.html

there is an issue with the witnesses statements because there was a female "witness" that originally made a statement that brown had reached for the officers gun and that is what started the struggle, brown ran and was then shot and she was supposedly a friend of brown and now we have statements that are saying that there was a struggle and that is when the shots were fired
but now we have groups of civil protesters and groups that are violent and people see the violent ones as equals to the non-violent ones

and no i do no agree with the level of militarization of local police forces but in this case for the first night it was needed and even on the second night there was still a need for a higher level of response than something as simple as a traffic stop
if the people of furgeson want to get the answers that they are seeking they need to get control of themselves and then they can go about replacing the police force and getting down to the truth and justice

I don't know where you are getting this bullshit ridgerunner but that is exactly what it is; total bullshit. I just watched Lawrence O'Donnell interview a female witness who saw both the struggle and the shooting. She did not know Micheal Brown and is not even from that neighborhood. And her testimony is almost identical to the testimony of the friend who was with Micheal Brown at the time he was gunned down. The officer was inside his vehicle. Brown was outside. The officer was trying to pull Brown towards him through the window (as he was reaching for his gun) and Mike Brown was trying to pull away from the officer. The officer shot Brown once from inside the vehicle before he could break free and take off running. The officer then jumped out shooting at Brown as he ran away and managed to hit Brown in the back. Brown turned around and raised both hands in the air saying don't shoot while the officer continued to fire at him as he continued to approach until Brown fell to the ground. That is murder plain and simple.

And the only group of people I've seen resort to violence were the Ferguson County and Municipal police who were the ones who rioted last night after one stupid kid threw a water bottle at them. I was actually watching it on a live feed and as soon as that one stupid kid threw a water bottle in the direction of the police some police officer screamed over a loud speaker "this is no longer peaceful protest. Disperse." But the protesters didn't have time to react let alone disperse because the tear gas, flash/bang grenades, rubber bullets and/or bean bag rounds were flying immediately and continued to fly in all directions for more than an hour. They fired tear gas and rubber bullets at people standing in their own front yards. They fired tear gas and rubber bullets at people who had no place they could go because the police had every thing blocked off. They fired tear gas and rubber bullets at a news crew. It was a violent riot alright but it was the police who were rioting and committing 99.9% of the violence.

Meanwhile, right now as I am writing this, I'm watching All In With Chris Hayes who is broadcasting live from Ferguson. There are more than 1,000 protesters out tonight. And the police (now that the highway patrol has taken over) are walking with the protesters and they are hugging and actually helping each other. Its actually beyond peaceful. Its more like a mass healing.

All the same story, all on the same Sunday night, and all after police provocation.

But to show what an idiot you really are you missed the one single picture of a black man trying to throw a Molotov cocktail last night. Which actually did happen. But again it was after the police struck first and had people cornered.

That is what happens when you attack people though. See if you can find anything from the protests tonight you phony.

you are a bleeding heart love thy criminal idiot to believe that these useless fucks are in any manner justified in their actions
even if the police did do anything to provoke them it takes a person to be inclined to ignorance and violence to do anything that would create a situation where you put not only yoursef but thousands of others in harms way
face it what they are doing is proving people like distant lover correct in their insistence that blacks are criminally inclined

No all that is being proven here is you are every bit as much of a racist bigot as Distant Lover is trying to blame an entire race for the actions of a very small minority.

And you know don't you that around here its the racist bigots that go around claiming all Native Americans are nothing but violent, thieving, drunks. How do you like wearing that label ridgerunner?

Of course if you're actually one of the close to 10,000 Native Americans who live around here they can point out that actually what the white racist bigots around here are seeing are the same few dozen drunks over and over again. But that sure never stops the racist bigots from claiming all Native Americans are violent, thieving, drunks, like you just did with the blacks in Ferguson.

You and Distant Lover should start your own club.

And all for one very simple reason. Racism. As soon as they took the racist and literally murdering militarized police force out of the situation all they had was a very peaceful demonstration.

    god you are an idiot
you are just like all of those assholes out in california that think that we owe anything to anyone
i dont owe shit to the blacks
they have the exact same chances as i did and they do not make the most of what is given to them and they cry racism
was it racism that was in play up until the mid 1980s when doctors were forcibly sterilizing natives?
how about in the 70s when they would take native children away from good homes and adopt them of to whites just because natives were "drunks and abusers" even when there was no evidence of it?
if the blacks want equality all they have to do is act like the rest
you cannot get special privileges and rights and not be looked on with hatred and suspicion
the blacks want to be allowed to commit crimes and still be handed everything free

for them to ever be equal they need to elevate themselves it is not our responsibility to fix their problems

Stumbler is right on this one you moron.... The Ferguson police are pretty much responsible for this whole mess. To make matters worse the St. Louis county police got involved with all this military hardware and tactics escalating the situation to where it is now.

The fact the police won't release any information like how many times Brown was shot makes it seem like a cover up from the start is taking place. Harassing and arresting reporters for covering the story lends credence to claims of police abuse and brutality.

You are a fool RR and don't you ever forget it....

do i believe that some officers over reacted? hell yes
do i believe that the public overreacted? hell yes
why they arent releasing some info is because it is still under investigation
but to say that this was all over 1 racist cops actions is absolute bullshit
its about a disparity in what qualifies as truth and justice

but to burn businesses and loot and destroy shit just because you are unhappy makes you as wrong as the rest
what is needed is time to investigate and as long as the tensions are still high that will not happen
but to say that it is all about race is bullshit
and since you want to see the criminals destroy things what would you do if a black cop killed one of your friends or family members?
would you riot. loot, start fires?

BTW, I noticed that you totally ignored my comment about Obama's statement, how come?
