I got to work this morning, shoved everything off my desk and on to the floor. I spread my new 65 team tournament bracket out onto my newly organized desk and dove into my research! WHO is the Cinderella this year? Who will this years Butler or George Washington be? Who are the chokers, PREtenders?

I entered one pool at work, cost $25. I will enter ESPNs and SIs to. prolly a few more... my brother will get me in his pool, too!

So, if anyone of you are college bb fans and want to offer your opinions of the upsets, upstarts, ...etc... post it here! I have never won a Final Four pool, but have come close soooo many times i want to take a baseball bat to my truck! Help me out this year.

I think Kansas, North Carolina look good...

A good sleeper is SIU. Another in Villanova. And i am really mad Missouri State didn't get in!

 

I'm trying to figure out how Duke got a 6th seed? They're not really that good this year.

 

I think this year was unusual in that there were, imho, 110-115 teams that could have made it. The ACC was loaded with teams, and the Big East was just crazy competitive. I was disappointed at the very few Mid-Major at-large bids, but that is a reflection of this years talented BB teams. I would have loved to see Drexel, Air Force and Missouri State in the mix, but this year with DUKE at a 6th seed, we have an unusual set of teams and seedings for sure.

 

I believe Ohio ST., Wisconsin and Oregon as well as Florida will be there in at least the Great 8.

 

DREXEL got left out, how ridiculous is that

teams to watch out for are VCU, Nova, especially Kansas, UNC (Wayne Ellington is a beast, saw him play when he was a Philly prep star), Winthrop, Davidson

and my Championship prediction is Ohio State vs. Kansas

 

I know... Drexel out and Stanford, Illinois, Arkansas in... what a slap at mid-majors.
Still, i would rather see a midwest team in than Drexel, just another eastcoast team, which get points from the selection committee just from being on the east coast.

The best game in the first round: Nevada vs Creighton. The winner takes out memphis. These are two sweet16 teams imo, too bad they hook up in the first round.

And i saw winthrop play Missouri state... they are excellent, winning here in missouri, who by the way beat Wisconsin, Siu, Illinois....... so winthrop is for real

and Drexel deserved to wi because of the teams they beat on the road, only reason they're not is because Old Dominion has a better conference record because their schedule is easier

 

hmmm Wright State and Pitt....I'm putting my money on Pitt, just because they're a very hard team to beat

No... i watched ohio state a couple times this year. they have deep talent BUT Freshman out-the-ass AND outside shooting problems.... watching them yesterday vs. Wisconsin, they hit some big shots, but the DANCE is a whole new level of pressure... Oden may take OSU all the way... would be neat to see him go against texas and Kevin Durant, who is a better freshman, and all-around best hoops player in college. Both of these guys should be playing pro now, but rules forbid.

 

picking the games 5vs12 (seeds) 6vs11, 7vs10 are fun, and nearly impossible to get them all pegged correctly.

But the extra points come from picking to ONE certain 4vs13 upset
and the occassional 3vs14 upset
and the rare but always brilliant 2vs15 upset!

 

yea, and I agree about Durant being more developed but I think Oden is the player with more potential and the player who has more of an NBA body, Durant is skinny as shit

I could see a few upsets going down early, it wouldn't surprise me if some of the top seeds got knocked out

there weren't too many upsets this year though, only a few major ones

 

Flordia, Ohio State, Michigan St(yes its not a typ-o) and Wisconsin will be my final 4

Of course...my hometown Ohio State i have winning it all.

Funny thing is, the buckeyes coach turned down an Xavier job to come to OSU
