  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

I have an old ford F-150. The PATS messed up on me last week.
Auto mechanics were not able to bypass it. Even the dealership can't.
They want to start replacing parts until they get the right one.
I know there has to be someone who can bypass the PATS.
People steal them all of the time so there has to be a way.
    Anyone have any hints?

Bron Zeage might help. I think he's a mechanic.

I have already tried the car thieves.
Found out that the only way to steal a F-150 is to have the key.

Sorry, my experience is all in GM. The problem with trying to bypass these kinds of systems is they work by generating a password, which is recognized by the ECM, when the proper key is used. You're not just cutting and splicing wires.

Yes, I found that out after doing a lot of research.
The old pickup just isn't worth it.
I have a friend who has a boy who is 14.
I think I will give it to him to take parts off of it and use the motor and transmission on another truck.

    Wish it was that easy.
That might work if the PATS was working. It isn't working.

Bitch, read the post. The key is good. It is the system that is bad.

If the key or chip is messed up it is easy to start it.
      The PATS is the problem.
There are a lot of parts to the PATS.

The chip and the key works. It is the PATS.
The PATS controls several different parts of the ignition.
It controls the dash, fuse boxes, fuel pump, fuel valve, and igniters.

      I read that one.
It is to replace the key.
Nothing to do with what the key turns on.
My key and chip will work.
It is somewhere in the wiring harness, fuse boxes, fuel pump, fuel line, injectors, or dash that isn't working.
      Key and chip works great.

      Check the fuses.

      conroe4, Jun 23, 2017
    3. msman
      Already checked those.
There is a way to narrow the problem down.
I have already narrowed it down to the PATS.
      Everything else works great.
The PATS controls just about everything that allows a truck to start.

Perhaps you should replace the PATS unit... To figure out how to do that, google-it-mutherfucker!

You know about as much about a PATS as you do everything else. Nothing.

Found the part that needs replacing on my pickup.
Very simple fix. I only had to change the name on the title.
Someone I know came by and wanted to buy it. I explained what was wrong with it.
He grabbed his smart phone and went to work. Told me he knew an easy and cheap way to fix it.
He had a nice trailer so I offered to trade the pickup for it.
He wanted to come get it today but I said we would wait until Monday to give him a chance to research what he thought he already had the answer for.
He was sure he could fix it in a few minutes and drive it home.
We agreed to exchange titles Monday morning, if he still wanted to, and he had 24 hours to remove it from my property.

Nothing wrong with a good horse trade...contact Stumbler and he may make an offer on the "nice" trailer you take in on trade...bet it is an improvement over the cardboard box he resides...

Well, the first thing is, fire your mechanic.
Any mechanic who thinks the correct approach is to just start replacing parts until they find the right one is ............ not a mechanic. At least, they are either very lazy or very greedy.
A proper mechanic will figure out the problem, then replace the part.

Second, Shooter was unaware you drive a Ford. He also just learned you live in Mississippi.
Shooter won't hold Mississippi against you, but driving a Ford? DAMN!

I have a F-250 diesel King Ranch, but I sold everything I towed with it. 2012 with 33K miles.
We prefer driving the 2017 BMW X5 diesel.

I worked seismic on the King Ranch occasionally. Most every seismic crew ran Fords. The Chevy's
and Dodge's weren't nearly as tough as the Fords. We ran them HARD. My poor truck has only seen
      4 wheel drive once.

I will have to say I don't blame you. I just drive the old ford when I have to haul something.
Bad thing is I have another ford also. Explorer. I expect it to do the same one day.
I usually drive my jeep pickup or the vette but it is so hard to get in and out of the vette.
There is a man wanting to buy it for a show car and I am thinking of letting him have it.
I only drive it once or twice a month.

Dump it...like I did my Harley. It's too dangerous at our age, and damned uncomfortable.

I always wanted a Vette...a '73, and then when I could afford one, nah...

We are negotiating it now. It is a 77, show car.
Haven't had it long but I will sell it for twice what I paid for it.

The PATS sends a signal thru the ECM. Removal and or bypass of the PATS disables the vehicle. The PATS modual may be bad and need replacing which is spendy.

That's what I know about it. I'm not a Ford guy and I refuse to ever work on them.

    Buy a Chevy.
