Well ZYZX, you are correct that I have never been clinically dead (and quite pleased that I have avoided it, beacuse usually being clinically dean means something really bad has happened!) I didn't realize that you weren't posing the question as more than an intellectual exercise, I'm glad that you made it back.

While I have no first hand knowledge of the experience, many, many years ago my grandfather was revived after having been clinically dead. I really don't remember all the specifics of how he described the experience, but for him, it actually confirmed in his mind his Catholic upbringing. I don't know how that dovetails with your comment about exposing religious lies. The same experience interepreted differently? The same physical experience manifesting as a different emotional/metaphysical experience?

As for the name, how about Houdini Day?

Thank you all for coming to my 2nd rebirthday or backday party. Hope there was lots of sex, but it must have all been with the cameras off and the doors locked. The staff said there no dvd's recorded. I had to OMG work so I missed the best part, and special guest couldn't come at the last minute.(Yes, it is spelled correctly.)

Wish you could get a souvenier picture of the implosion but as luck and Murphy's Law* would have it the camera quit working 3 minutes before the blast.


*MURPHY'S LAW: When the first tests of the rocket sled were made, about 1947, a Captain Murphy was in charge of body telemetry. Everything was checked and double checked before the sled was launched. After the brief ride, the playback showed nothing from the telemetry. They found that a critical component had failed just as the test started. This led Capt. Murphy to expostulate that anything that can go wrong will go wrong and at the worst possible time. This statement became known as Murphy's Law among technical people and finally to the general public. Especially explained for our members not in the Untied States of Amerika. Just think how it would been if Col. Pepper had been in charge. Pepper's law just isn't as sonorous as Murphy's Law. (This is true and Capt. Murphy was a real person until he died, date not known by writer.)

This really is a word that is needed more and more. I suspect other people with my experience will want to celebrate this anniversary also.

If Merriam-Webster deigns to accept them, I am reasonably sure that the earliest edition it will appear in is 2008. Meantime, lets try to get these words in as much general use as we can.
