Threatening anyone with a chainsaw is gonna get them in a world of hurt. But it may very well be they are also victims of harassment.

You’re just pissed there’s nothing to pick apart in the story.

Listen, I don’t know who shat in your cornflakes this morning, but it wasn’t me. Take your bitterness and focus it elsewhere.

Did you ever read Crichton’s Jurassic Park?

One of the opening scenes is a child first seeing - and initially being charmed by - a Microceratus. The same size as a cat or a big squirrel, it had a frill and acted curious, chittering and appearing cute. Then more of them showed up, and the kid got a little nervous. The first Microceratus hopped up and got really close, making all kinds of inquisitive noises. The kid relaxed a little, reaching out to touch the creature. The frill on its neck popped open and it spat caustic venom in the child’s face. Then the pack ate the child.

I think about Microceratus a lot when I read those posts.

Statue of Canada’s First Prime Minister Ripped Down, Decapitated by ‘Abolish the Police’ BLM Supporters

Black Lives Matter supporters chanting “abolish the police” have torn down a statue of Sir John A MacDonald, the Scotsman who became Canada’s first prime minister, in Montreal.

Video footage uploaded to social media by Matt Wolf, a staffer working for Alberta’s premier, shows demonstrators gathered around the monument, already defaced with communist-style insignia, chanting “No justice, no peace, abolish the police” in the drizzling rain as they haul on a rope tied around the Glasgow-born nation-builder’s torso.

Sir John’s statue then crashes to the ground with such violence that it is completely decapitated, with the “lawless mob” cheering euphorically and an activist rushing forward to “teabag” the long-dead statesman’s head after it comes to rest.

    https://twitter.com/i/status/1299795410538565632

A group calling itself nobordersmedia shared images of the historic statue further vandalised with graffiti including the anarchist logo as it lay on the ground, activists standing triumphantly on Sir John’s severed head, and details of a banner which had been hung on the monument levelling various accusations at him.

“The racist John A. Macdonald statue in Montreal has fallen,” the group boasted.

“It was taken down minutes ago by masked protesters at the end of the #DefundThePolice police demo.”

Unlike many Western leaders, the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, both condemned the vandalism and pledged action to reverse it.
“Whatever one might think of John A MacDonald, destroying a monument in this way is unacceptable,” he tweeted in French.

“We must fight racism, but destroying parts of our history is not the solution. Vandalism has no place in our democracy and the statue must be restored,” he insisted.

However, the devolved left-separatist Scottish National Party (SNP) administration in Sir John’s native Scotland already turned its back on him some years ago, purging him from Scotland.org websites to appease activists opposed to the British Empire and its legacy.

Canadians have logged 8,000 formal complaints about airlines since pandemic began
    Social Sharing
More complaints logged since COVID-19 began than there were in 2018 and 2019 combined
The Canadian Press · Posted: Sep 01, 2020 11:44 AM ET | Last Updated: 5 hours ago

Given the large number of cancelled travel plans, the CTA says it suspects a large number of the complaints are related to refunds for flights not taken. (Luke MacGregor/Reuters)

The Canadian Transportation Agency says it has received more than 8,000 complaints about airlines since mid-March, an unprecedented figure for the five-and-a-half-month period.

The total exceeds the number of complaints from all of 2018-19 and comes amid a prolonged customer backlash over a move by airlines to offer flight credit rather than refunds for most trips cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Given that we are in the process of reviewing those complaints, it is not possible to identify specific issues raised in these complaints or to provide any kind of breakdown at this time. However, we expect a portion of these will relate to vouchers and refunds," the agency said in an email.

The surge in complaints lines up directly with a more than 90 per cent plunge in passenger volume at Canadian carriers, suggesting reimbursements or flight cancellations rather than in-flight experiences play a prominent role.

Canadian airlines have typically offered flight credit valid for two years after they cancel a trip, leaving many customers concerned they will not feel comfortable flying for health or financial reasons within that time.

Since February, passengers have filed a handful of proposed class-action lawsuits and three petitions garnering more than 109,000 signatures that call for customer reimbursement.

In contrast to Canadian authorities, the European Commission and the U.S. Department of Transportation have required airlines to refund passengers. The U.S. and European countries including France and Germany have also offered billions in financial relief to struggling carriers, while Ottawa has provided no industry-specific bailout to airlines.

The pandemic has devastated the airline industry, with billions of dollars in losses for Canadian carriers amid grounded flights and tight international borders.

Canadian airline revenues in 2020 will fall by $14.6 billion or 43 per cent from last year, according to estimates in May from the International Air Transport Association.

The complaints span mid-March — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued a travel advisory on March 13 warning Canadians against trips abroad — to Aug. 26.

The agency did not specify an exact number of complaints.

Wear A Mask During Sex To Avoid Coronavirus Infection, Canada's Chief Doctor Suggests
    KEY POINTS
    • Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada's chief public health officer, asks Canadians to wear face masks when having sex
    • She also asks they give-up kissing altogether to avoid spreading the COVID-19 virus
    • She said the safest form of sex is going it alone

Wear a face mask during sex. Really?

Dr. Theresa Tam, the chief public health officer of Canada, has made the unbelievable suggestions people should make love while wearing face masks and avoid kissing altogether. This warning is especially true when having sex with new partners, such as a one-night stand, but added the safest form of sex in this age of COVID-19 is to "go solo."

Tam's contentious statements made Wednesday include no kissing, avoiding face-to-face closeness, wearing a face mask covering the mouth and nose, and monitoring yourself and your partner for symptoms ahead of sex of any kind.

"Like other activities during COVID-19 that involve physical closeness, there are some things you can do to minimize the risk of getting infected and spreading the virus," she said.

Tam admitted there's little chance of catching COVID-19 from semen or vaginal fluid. On the other hand, sexual activity with new partners increases the risk of contracting the virus that causes COVID-19, especially if there's close contact like kissing.

Tam, 55, admits sexual health is an important part of one's overall health. The precautions she recommends, however outlandish they might seem, are intended to help. "Canadians can find ways to enjoy physical intimacy while safeguarding the progress we have all made containing COVID-19," she said.

If a person wants the intense thrill of sex but without the risk of being infected by another person, Tam recommends masterbation.

"The lowest-risk sexual activity during COVID-19 involves yourself alone," she said.

Did you read the article, anon?
Do you think someone from the early 1850's whose only crime is making what would today be politically incorrect statements about race should be erased from the very organization they created?
Or that the fact that Muir, later in life, rejected racism should not be taken into account?
Or that all of the contributions Muir made to this country should be erased because of something he was supposed to have said as a young man?

      Really?

Families of victims in N.S. shooting rampage say police left body in vehicle as it was towed

    • Cassidy Chisholm · CBC News · Posted: Sep 03, 2020 6:00 AM AT

The amended class action has also formally named the province of Nova Scotia a defendant in the case. (CBC)
Families of the victims of the Nova Scotia mass shooting have amended their proposed class-action lawsuit to add a new accusation against the RCMP.

They allege the RCMP allowed a deceased victim's body to remain inside a vehicle while it was towed from a crime scene so it could be collected and analyzed as evidence, "rather than ensuring that the body was first removed and cared for in the appropriate manner before the vehicle was seized."

Sandra McCulloch, a lawyer with Patterson Law in Truro, N.S., who is representing the families, said the vehicle mentioned in the amendment relates to Joey Webber, who was killed by the shooter while he went out to run an errand for his family on the morning of April 19.

Webber was one of 22 people killed by a gunman dressed like an RCMP officer during a rampage that started in Portapique, N.S., on April 18 and continued through several other rural communities the next morning. Two of the victim's families launched the proposed class-action lawsuit against the RCMP in June. It covers a range of criticisms previously raised about the tragedy, including police communication, staffing levels and notification of families.

It also alleges a vehicle seized as evidence was later released to a family with human remains still inside.

McCulloch confirmed the vehicle mentioned in the recent amendment is not the same vehicle that was allegedly returned with remains inside.

In an email Thursday, Nova Scotia RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Clarke said the Mounties have not yet been served with a civil claim in relation to the incidents of April 18 and 19, "but will review and consider any such claim once served."

Given the situation, she said the force will not be responding to allegations in any such claim.

Police: 5 found dead after shooting in Ontario home
Police say five people have been found dead and another with serious injuries following an early morning shooting in a home east of Toronto
    By
    The Associated Press
    September 4, 2020, 2:16 PM

OSHAWA, Ontario -- Police said five people were found dead and another with serious injuries following a shooting early Friday in a home east of Toronto.

A spokesman said multiple calls came in around 1:20 a.m. reporting the sound of gunshots from a home in Oshawa, Ontario.

Constable George Tudos said the dead include four men and one woman — two of them under 18.

Tudos said officers also found a 50-year-old woman in the house with a gunshot wound and she was sent to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Durham police said in a statement that the suspected shooter is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and no other suspects are outstanding.

Police initially believed there were four people dead and one injured, but later updated that another person had died.

Tudos told reporters that police were waiting for the homicide team to arrive to get a better understanding of what happened.

Carol Gibson, who lives down the street from the crime scene, said she was startled awake by the incident.

"The first shot woke me up, and then I heard about four or five more after that,″ Gibson said. “Then a woman screamed and there were two shots after that.”

Gibson said she had known the family in the house for around 20 years.

“They were a family that cared for each other quite a bit,” said Gibson. "If they weren’t playing baseball, hockey or shooting hoops on the driveway, they were out raking leaves and they did it as a family. A very caring family.″

Rob Mitchell, another neighbor, described them as kind and outgoing.

“They are very very involved with their kids and what they are doing in the community. It definitely doesn’t make any sense at all," Mitchell said.

Black man beaten, stabbed by group of 5 in 'reprehensible' Brandon assault: Police

Charges against 2 women in custody include public incitement of hatred after attack in Manitoba city
CBC News · Posted: Sep 04, 2020 8:06 AM CT | Last Updated: 9 hours ago

A group of five people yelled racial slurs at a Black man before he was stabbed multiple times in a Brandon, Man., skate park on Thursday, in what one police officer said was an "absolutely reprehensible" assault.

Two women now face several charges, including public incitement of hatred — the first time that charge has been laid in the southwestern Manitoba city, according to police.

"The racial part of it is horrible. It is absolutely horrible," Staff Sgt. Bill Brown, a spokesperson for the Brandon Police Service, said at a Friday afternoon news conference.

"And if that led to the incident, then it elevates [it], in my opinion as a policeman for 20-plus years. It is terrible."

Officers went to the Kristopher Campbell Memorial Skate Plaza at Ninth Street and Princess Avenue around 7:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, after a report about a group of five people assaulting the man.

I'm disgusted by it, as most people would be — all people, I would hope.- Brandon police Staff Sgt. Bill Brown
Kevin Taylor, 44, had tried to leave when the racial slurs began to avoid a confrontation, but the group blocked him and then attacked him, Brandon police Staff Sgt. Brian Partridge said earlier Friday.

The altercation ended with Taylor being stabbed five times.

He was taken to hospital by a witness before police arrived. He remains in hospital in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery, Partridge said Friday morning.

Brown called the incident "absolutely reprehensible" at the afternoon news conference.

"I'm disgusted by it, as most people would be — all people, I would hope — and also by the violence involved here, at 7:45 on a beautiful, fall evening, at a place where people take their children."

    Video shows attack
In a news release earlier Friday, Brandon police said a video of the attack shows Taylor being punched and kicked. At one point, he tries to defend himself and holds one of the attackers down. A woman then pulls out the knife and stabs him repeatedly in the side of his abdomen, police said.

The altercation ends as Taylor walks away, bleeding from his wounds. The woman who stabbed him had slashed the tires of his vehicle before the stabbing, police said.

A patrol officer later found a woman, matching the description of one of the suspects, walking a couple of blocks away. She had blood on her clothing and a blood-stained knife in her pocket, police said.

That woman, a 23-year-old from Brandon, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon, public incitement of hatred, mischief to property and failure to comply with a court order.

Another woman, a 20-year-old from Sioux Valley, was found nearby and also arrested. She was charged with assault, public incitement of hatred, public mischief and failure to comply with a court order.

Brandon police did not release the names of the accused on Friday.

The charge of public incitement of hatred was based on what officers learned at the scene, Brown said. He also said there were several witnesses to the attack, which is how officers obtained the video.

    'It's shocking'
Police are still looking for three other people involved in the attack.

Brown said investigators believe they know who two of the three are, and police will likely issue arrest warrants later Friday afternoon.

"For something like this to happen so close to home with an attack on a Black person, especially somebody from my community, it's totally uncalled for," said Eleanor Elk, councillor at Sioux Valley Dakota Nation.

"I don't know what was going through the person's mind doing this to a Black person.… It's shocking."

Elk has experienced racism in her life but never imagined someone from her community would attack another person, let alone another person of colour.

She feels terrible for the victim but also for the parents of those who participated.

Beverly Bucknor, Taylor's mother, says she never expected anyone in Brandon, Man., would be charged with public incitement of hatred. (Sean Kavanagh/CBC)
Victim at skate park with son
Taylor, a former mixed martial artist, is a father of four. He was at the skate park with his six-year-old son when the attack occurred, Beverly Bucknor, Taylor's mother, told CBC News.

Bucknor's "stomach was in knots," and her "thoughts were going crazy" when she first learned what had happened.

"I may lose my baby," she thought at the time.

Bucknor hasn't spoken to her son yet, but she's been kept up-to-date on his status and knows he's recovering, she said.

"That guy is tough. He's going to be OK," she said. "If he can get up and walk, after he got stabbed so many times, now you see what I'm talking about."

Bucknor has lived in Brandon for 17 years and said she has not experienced overt racism directed toward her. She never expected to hear that anyone from the southwestern Manitoba city would be charged with public incitement of hatred.

"When I heard it, I was in shock," she said.

    Community reacts
Emelio Brown, president of Westman Jamaican Community Inc., has lived in Brandon for six years. He has faced milder forms of racism in the city, he said.

"You hear words, of course. You hear the resentment. You see it at how people look at you," Brown said. "However, I've never seen anything like this."

This was a case where someone acted on their feelings, he said.

"Obviously, everyone has a right to how they feel — whether it's right or not. But if you're going to act on these feelings and these racial viewpoints, that's definitely an issue."

The stabbing showed that racism is alive in Brandon, he said. But it's also concerning because it happened in a place — the community skate park — where Taylor is supposed to feel safe.

Brown pleaded for people to educate themselves and those around them about anti-Black racism in order to make strides toward change.

It’s been over two years since Matthew Vincent Raymond was taken into custody by the Fredericton Police after two officers and two civilians were shot and killed. As Callum Smith reports, the events leading to that arrest are not in dispute.

The murder trial for a Fredericton man charged in the 2018 fatal shootings of four people has been put on hold until next week.

Justice Larry Landry of the Court of Queen’s Bench told the 12-person jury today that the parties need to discuss unexpected issues before Matthew Raymond‘s trial can resume.

Raymond faces four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Fredericton Police constables Robb Costello and Sara Burns as well as civilians Donnie Robichaud and Bobbie Lee Wright, on Aug. 10, 2018.

On Tuesday, lawyers for Raymond acknowledged their client shot and killed the four people but they said he is not criminally responsible because of a mental disorder.

The jury heard opening statements and reviewed some of the evidence that will be presented during the trial.

Jurors have been asked to return Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m.

Statistics Canada says 11 per cent of women were sexually assaulted at a Canadian university or college setting last year.

The report, released earlier this week, says about one in 10 students who identify as women were sexually assaulted in a post-secondary setting in 2019, compared with four per cent of students who identify as men.

The University of B.C., which was in the spotlight in 2016 because ofseveral sexual assaults on campus, responded to the report Wednesday saying “sexual violence is never acceptable” and that it is “enabled by social and cultural norms about sex, sexuality and gender.”

Alicia Oeser, director of the sexual violence prevention and response office at UBC and Shelley Ball, director of the UBC investigations office, said the university is “deeply committed to building a culture of consent,” where members of the university community have “a safe, supportive and respectful environment in which to live, learn and work.”

UBC created the sexual violence prevention and response office in 2017 in Vancouver and another office at UBC Okanagan. Both offices offer survivor-centred support services and prevention education programming.

The university is encouraging anyone who has been affected by sexual violence to reach out to the investigations office or 604-827-2060 and submit an online report.

Simon Fraser University has a similar support office for victims of sexual assault, while BCIT says students should call campus security at 604-451-6856.

A majority (71 per cent) of students surveyed in the StatsCan report witnessed or experienced unwanted sexualized behaviours — either on or off campus, or in an online situation that involved students or other people associated with the school.

More women (45 per cent) than men (32 per cent) personally experienced these kinds of behaviours, which include inappropriate verbal or non-verbal communication, sexually explicit materials and physical contact or suggested sexual relations.

The report found that the highest number of sexual assault victims were young women, and notes that the incidents of sex assault are more prevalent on campuses compared with the general population.

According to the Survey of Safety in Public and Private Spaces, which measured sexual assault among Canadians, three per cent of women and one per cent of men were sexually assaulted in 2018.

In 2019, 86 per cent of sexual assaults among women in a post-secondary setting were in the form of unwanted touching and the majority were perpetrated by fellow students, according to the StatsCan report.

Unwanted sexual attention in the form of whistles and “catcalls” were experienced by 27 per cent of women surveyed and six per cent of men.

Both women and men who experienced unwanted sexualized behaviours in a post-secondary setting felt negative emotional impacts, especially women.

For example, the report notes that 23 per cent of women felt fearful as a result of these experiences, compared with four per cent of men.

Students also experienced negative impacts on their academic life, including stopping going to one or more classes and changing their routines in response to what had happened, such as avoiding certain buildings on campus.

Only nine per cent of women and four per cent of men spoke with someone at the school about what happened, and a majority (74 per cent of women and 72 per cent of men) stated that the incident was not serious enough to report.

Students who witnessed or experienced unwanted sexualized behaviours considered some to be more offensive than others.

StatsCan says taking or posting inappropriate or sexually suggestive photos or videos of any student without consent was seen as very offensive by a large proportion of both women (59 per cent) and men (42 per cent).

Sexual jokes were seen as very offensive by a minority of students (seven per cent of women and two per cent of men).

Notably, women were more likely than men to consider unwanted sexualized behaviours to be offensive, regardless of the type of behaviour in question.

    Oh, now this is interesting.
Many may not know that some miscreant mailed Ricin laced envelopes to President Trump.
    Ricin is a poison.
A very lethal and dangerous poison.

Anyway, an arrest has been made.
Turns out, the feds think a Canadian woman, well known to authorities, is responsible, and they grabbed her as she attempted to cross from Canada to the US.
Oh, and turns out she was deported last year as an illegal immigrant, among other things.

Megan Rapinoe Insults Canada After They Handed Her Another Loss, but Canadians Fire Back
By Brandon Morse | Aug 03, 2021 11:00 AM ET

The U.S. Olympic women’s soccer team isn’t doing so hot as it’s getting handed loss after loss, the latest one from Canada. It was a tough moment for the American team, and the team’s “star,” Megan Rapinoe gave an interview that involved a couple of shed tears.

It also included a snipe at Canada.

“It’s terrible. We just didn’t have it today,” Rapinoe said according to ESPN. “Just too many errors from us again. I felt like the space was there for us to play and we just couldn’t get into it, too many touches or, you know, an errant touch.

“That’s football,” she continued. “They got, I think, one shot on goal, a PK, and from what it sounds like it was a PK. So yeah, it’s a bitter one to swallow. Obviously, we never want to lose to Canada. I don’t think I’ve ever lost to Canada.”

“So it’s a bitter one. Obviously, there’s still a lot to compete for. That’s what I told the girls and what we talked about in the huddle. It’s not the color we want, but there’s still a medal on the line,” she added. “That’s a huge thing and we want to win that game, but yeah, this is … this sucks. It sucks.”

Rapinoe’s swipe at Canada’s skill as a soccer-playing country ventured into bad sportsmanship territory, which is par for the course of Rapinoe who isn’t exactly known for spreading around positivity and fair-mindedness.

Canadians, normally known for being overly polite and nice, had a few things to say to Rapinoe in return.

As gracious in defeat, as she is in victory.

While it’s sad that the U.S. soccer team had to lose to anyone, many people aren’t exactly feeling sympathetic about the U.S. team’s losses. In fact, some are flat-out enthusiastic. Rapinoe’s behavior has been nothing but awful throughout her time in the spotlight, causing many to want as much humble pie shoved down her throat as humanly possible.

Rapninoe’s anti-American stances have tainted the team, and indeed the Olympics in general by making things more about the politics than the competition. It’s clear that it’s not about doing the best you can on behalf of your country, but doing what will get you more attention for yourself, and as such, many are quite happy about the U.S. team’s loss, especially in America.

But now we can throw Canadians into that mix as well. Not only are they happy that their team won, but they’re happy that our team lost and all because of Rapinoe’s garbage attitude.

Furious crowd forces Justin Trudeau to cancel campaign event: 'Need freedom'
Canada's federal election will be held Sept. 20

A campaign event for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was canceled over safety concerns after angry coronavirus protesters rallied against the liberal leader.

"I need freedom," read one sign held by a protester in Bolton, Ontario, on Friday. While others repeatedly screamed, "F*** Trudeau!," and people were seen waving their middle fingers at the prime minister.

The event was first postponed by two hours on Friday, and was eventually canceled over security concerns due to the rowdy crowd.

"Canadians have had a hard year," Trudeau told reporters after the event was canceled. "And these protesters have also had a hard year. ... I know and I feel the anger, the frustration, perhaps the fear."

"But we must meet that anger with compassion."

Much of the anger was in response to the Canadian government’s strict approach to vaccines and repeated lockdowns in the country.

Earlier this month, Trudeau said that people would be banned from boarding any plane, train or cruise ship in Canada unless they are fully vaccinated. All government employees are also required to get the vaccine, along with airlines and railways employees. He also announced on Friday that if he’s reelected, a $1 billion program would be established to assist provinces in developing vaccination passport programs.

His doubling-down on strict coronavirus policies comes ahead of the Sept. 20 federal election in the country, but not all Canadians appear satisfied with his approach.

The cancelation of Trudeau’s Bolton event was the third time on Friday alone that he was disrupted by angry protesters, including at St. Phillips Bakery when protesters jeered at him and held signs reading, "Trudeau Treason." He was also protested by anti-vaccine proponents on Wednesday during a trip to British Columbia.

"We’ve never seen anything like this," one Liberal volunteer told the Toronto Star. "We’re being followed around, and they’re really well-prepared … We’ve been seeing protesters from Markham to B.C. that are the same people."

Trudeau was also questioned Friday evening if he thought he’s helped politicize vaccines, and responded that Canada needs to rely on science.

"We have to stand strong for what we know to be true: that science is going to help us, that it’s going to be the path forward out of this," he said.

Canadians Get to Vote Against Justin Trudeau’s Migration Wave

Wages in Canada are almost flat, house prices are spiking, and the wealth gap is growing while Canada’s established political parties invite an accelerating flood of economic migrants.

But a Canadian politician has created a new political party to offer immigration reforms to Canadian voters in the impeding September 20 elections for 338 seats in parliament.

“The People’s Party of Canada is the only national political body that is for a lower level of immigration,” party founder Maxime Bernier told Breitbart News. “All the other parties are always for more and more,” he said with an accent that echoes his upbringing in Canada’s French-speaking province of Quebec.

Canada’s political parties and media suppress the public’s worries about migration, Bernier said:

If you are for fewer immigrants, it’s easy [for the establishment media] to tag you as racist, and they did that last election [in 2019]. This election, they are not doing that because we’re not a racist party, we’re a smart populist political party, and we want to have this debate because we love our country.

Incumbent Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has already raised immigration to roughly 341,000 people in 2019. The migrants are touted as skilled, but they range from helpless geriatrics who rely on free healthcare, to unskilled refugees who fill unskilled jobs, to productive professionals who edge out Candian graduates. Overall, the huge inflow has delivered one immigrant for every three working Canadians.

    Bernier continued:

Trudeau is a globalist, and his goal is to try to change the cultural character and social fabric of our country with his extreme multiculturalist policy and mass migration. When there’s a crisis somewhere, Trudeau is always the first one to say “Let’s bring in more and more people.” He said he is a citizen of the world, so it’s in line with his philosophy as a globalist.

    Immigration Economics

Canadian government officials tout migration — and the parallel inflow of many temporary contract workers — as a boost to the nation’s economy, but not as a way to help Canadians prosper.

“Immigrants contribute to our economy, not only by filling gaps in our labour force and paying taxes, but also by spending money on goods, housing and transportation,” says the government’s web page.

In 2019, Canadian parents produced 372,038 baby Canadians. But Trudeau wants to import 420,000 migrants in 2023, which would be more than one migrant for every Canadian birth.

Canada has roughly 8 million immigrants alongside the population of 3o million native-born Canadians. More than two in 10 Canadians are immigrants.

In the United States, immigrants comprise a smaller share, of roughly one in 10 Americans. They comprise about 30 million in a population of 320 million, not counting at least 11 million illegal migrants.

For many years, the United States has imported roughly one migrant for every four American births. President Donald Trump cut that inflow, but President Joe Biden is on track to import roughly two migrants for every four American births in 2021. The government hides this labor inflation by insisting that Americans’ homeland is really a “Nation of Immigrants.”

The massive inflows of immigrant workers, consumers, and renters tend to expand national economies and grow the governments’ tax revenues in the United States and Canada. Just as in the United States, the post-1990 inflow has been good for employers and investors.

But the inflow also helps to flatten wages and spike housing prices far beyond the reach of most Canadians and new immigrants.

In March, the Wall Street Journal sketched one Canadian immigrant:

Nikhil David, 32 years old, said he struggled to find a job in his field when he arrived in Canada from India in July. Mr. David was exempted from Canada’s border restrictions because he had been approved as a permanent resident before the pandemic shutdowns began. After working for several months at a grocery store, he landed a part-time job doing wellness checks and food deliveries for elderly people.

“It’s definitely a kind of risk coming here and starting from scratch,” said Mr. David, who holds a graduate degree in social work from a university in India.

Amid the inflow, Canadians’ median household income rose by just about one percent per year from 2005 to 2019. That is just 17 percent in 14 years, after inflation.

In contrast, the U.S. Census Bureau reported in September 2020 that Americans’ “median household income increased 6.8 percent” amid President Donald Trump’s low-migration economic policy. “It was a pretty banner year for households, and really across the income distribution, we got a lot of eye-popping figures in this release,” David Deull, the top economist at IHS Markit, told the Wall Street Journal.

Much of the economic pain caused by migration is felt in housing prices.

In the lower-migration United States, the median house price rose 45 percent, from $233,000 in 2005 up to $337,500 in mid-2020.

But in Canada, housing prices rose three times as fast, by 143 percent from 2005 to 2020, according to Statista.com. Prices jumped again in 2021: “The average home-sale price in Canada rose 26 per cent year over year in June … with sales activity up by 14 per cent,” CTVnews.ca reported August 10.

“Many young people across Canada are starting to realize that it will be difficult for them to live the same lives as their parents did,” thehabistat.com reported on August 4. It continued:

It is no longer a guarantee that by going to school and working hard, you could be reasonably sure to one day afford a home to comfortably raise a family in. This change in opportunity has unfolded in a single generation and is leading to national protests calling on politicians to address the housing crisis.

The price of a Canadian house is now 10 times the average income, compared to seven times the annual income in 2005, the site reported.

The two main establishment parties recognize the cause-and-effect, but they also refuse to roll back migration numbers. On August 19, for example, the Conservative Party announced its housing platform:

“We have a housing crisis in Canada,” said [Party leader Erin] O’Toole. “The supply of homes – to own as well as to rent – is not keeping up with our growing population and too many foreign investors are sitting on properties as investments. As Prime Minister, I will ensure we build and make more affordable housing options available for Canadians first.”

Trudeau’s Liberal Party promises to bar house purchases by foreigners and then to cut taxes and spend more to offset the impact of its pro-migration policies.

The same migration-inflated housing spikes are visible in New Zealand, California, New York, and the United States. In the United Kingdom, a team of experts suggested the immigration of 4 million has boosted housing prices by 21 percent.

The rising inflow of migrants comes as Canadian government economists recently relooked at the wealth of Canada’s 1 percent and shifted their estimate from 15 percent up to 25 percent. Another study says the 1 percent own 30 percent of Canada’s wealth.

A July 2020 report on the government study says the poor half of Canada’s population and of Canada’s middle-class now have a far lower share of wealth than in prior decades:

Recent research suggests the top one per cent’s wealth share may once again be increasing … In terms of its share of Canada’s wealth, the bottom fifty per cent has made essentially no progress, with their share since the 19th century never exceeding 10 per cent. Indeed, the recent PBO report estimated the wealth share of the bottom 40 percent in 2016 at 1.2 percent of wealth.

Canada’s wealth gap is now close to the United States situation, where the wealthiest 1 percent owns roughly 32 percent of the wealth.

    Politics

Amid the migration and resulting economic pain, incumbent Prime Minister Trudeau is promoting an authoritarian cult of diversity, Bernier told Breitbart News:

He says that diversity is our strength. I believe that what unites us is our strength. We must celebrate our culture, we must celebrate our heritage. We must celebrate who we are. But Justin Trudeau says Canada is the first post-national nation state with no clear identity … We must cut all funding for multiculturalism and celebrate instead what unites us.

On the first of July of this year, I was the only leader of a national party in Canada to celebrate Canada Day and to say I was proud to be Canadian, but these other leaders were not there. When you push mass immigration and for more and more diversity in our country, that’s what you get. We want to stop that before we have social tension like they are in other European countries.

Bernier quit the conservative party in 2017 after narrowly losing a race for party chief in 2017. He is now offering a classic populist-conservative answer — including opposition to deficit spending and inflation, as well as opposition to vaccination passports and mass lockdowns. “Inflation is a hidden tax … inflation is hurting poor people more than the rich people,” Bernier said.

“Canadians want to have a freedom voice, a c0monsense voice in Parliament, and they’re ready to have this debate about immigration, about [coronavirus] lockdowns, about vaccine passports,” he said.

The public — including new immigrants — is ready for a debate on the economics of migration, Bernier predicted:

They understand that we don’t have a sustainable immigration system. We have mass immigration and they don’t like what they’re seeing. So [our message] well received, but the challenge is the media don’t want to cover it, they don’t want to have the discussion. I’m the only one who is speaking about that.

But Bernier has yet to crack the media ‘s refusal to talk about the pocketbook politics of immigration. He was excluded from the media-carried campaign debate in late August, despite his outpolling the Green Party.

Bernier formed the party in 2019 and got just 1.6 percent in the 2019 election. Polls now show him getting up to seven percent of the electorate. For example, EKOS Research Associates shows the PPC part getting almost seven percent of the vote in late August.

The details also show the party is appealing to a wide range of voters. For example, Bernier’s PPC won support from 12 percent of poor people and from 12 percent of “upper class” people, as well as 8 percent of high-school graduates and 7 percent of people with post-graduate degrees.

Many years of Canadian polls show a rough divide about migration levels, despite the elite consensus for more migrants. In a 2020 survey, 52 percent of voters said that “Canada should focus on helping unemployed Canadians rather than looking for skilled immigrants for our workforce.” And GlobalNews.Ca reported in 1019:

Sixty-three per cent of respondents to a recent Leger poll said the government should prioritize limiting immigration levels because the country might be reaching a limit in its ability to integrate them.

Just 37 per cent said the priority should be on growing immigration to meet the demands of Canada’s expanding economy.

Many of the voters who are worried about immigration are tempted to vote with the bigger, familiar conservative party. Canada has a “first past the post” counting system, so the big parties can win many of the 338 parliamentary seats even when a majority of the district votes are cast for several other parties.

But Canada’s conservative party wants even more migration. It has even picked a foreign-born businessman and homebuilder to be its minister for immigration. The party’s 2021 platform promises more migration, saying:

Canada’s Conservatives are the party that ended racial discrimination in Canadian immigration, the party that streamlined processes for refugees and persecuted minorities, and the party that ensured that those who arrive on our shores have the greatest chance to succeed.

    […]

Immigration does not just serve newcomers and their families. It also supports employers seeking to fill vital skill gaps and assists the public through the provision of essential public services. Accordingly, Canada’s immigration policies must match Canadian priorities.

The conservatives’ 161-page platform mentions wages just once, saying. “A disproportionate number of disabled Canadians are working part-time or for low wages.”

Bernier tweeted his response on August 25:

When fake conservatives like [Conservative leader Erin O’Toole] run on a leftist platform, the message to voters is that conservative, small-government principles and policies are not worth defending. If you’re a conservative, don’t vote for someone who is actively discrediting your beliefs.
