Both Bing Crosby and Leonard Bernstein died of heart attacks on October 14th. Crosby in 1977 at age 72, and Bernstein in 1980 at age 74.
Crosby had just finished a game of golf in Spain. Bernstein died in NYC in his apartment at The Dakota, and had announced his retirement from conducting just 5 days earlier.
