While exotica was at its peak, Arthur Lyman had his only Top 40 hit with 'Yellow Bird'. It managed to get to #4.

 

The Five Stairsteps hit their only Top 40 peak with "Ooh Child" (#8) on July 18, 1970

 

Another ridiculous entry in the Top 40. The Jump 'N The Saddle Band hit #15 with "The Curly Shuffle" on January 21, 1984. Fortunately for sane people everywhere, there were no more.

 

Ken (Kenneth) Copeland (for many years one of many annoying TV evangelists) had one hit that peaked at #12 on May 6, 1957.

Another "faux band", White Plains was a bunch of unnamed studio musicians, Tony Burrows (a singer who sold his services as front man to a number of studio-construct groups) and an interchangeable group of back-up "singers" who lip-synched on tour. Blech.

Anyway, this hit #13 on June 27, 1970

 

Benny Mardones (who easily could have been Manny Bardones or Barney Nardones: all would have been just as forgettable) gave us a wonderful anthem on pedophilia (so what if she's underage? No one should stand in my way of busting your cherry).

This piece of shit actually hit #11 on September 6., 1980. Mardones never approached another hit. He blames it on "a world of drugs that sucked him in", but in reality, he stinks.

 

Cathy Carr went all the way to #2 with her only Top 40 hit, 'Ivory Tower' on June 16, 1956. She doesn't have much of a voice, but if you watch the video, you'll see that she has a nice pussy.

 

The Castaways first record, 'Liar, Liar' peaked at #12 on October 23, 1965. They went on to record three or four more records, but nothing more caught consumers attention.

 

Amazingly, Buffalo Springfield only had one Top 40 hit. It was "For What It's Worth", at #7 on March 25, 1967

 

Tin Tin had their only Top 40 hit with 'Toast and Marmalade for Tea' (don't remember that one? Well, neither do I) on May 29, 1971, when it peaked at #20

 

'Don't Stop the Music' was Yarbrough & Peoples only Top 40 hit, though they sneaked in the Top 100 a couple of other times. April 11, 1981 was the day the tune hit #19.
