I’ve had incredibly bad sex with my husband of 26 years that could be classed as rape.
I have never nor would ever cry rape even though the law could class it as such....
Why?
It wasn’t rape... i consented right up until it turned to shit... by then it was too late... I was in mid act before I suddenly changed my mind...

Nature cannot be denied and outlawed. The very idea is absurd. The only way past the impasse of a sexually repressed society, is to disavow it's prescientific era superstitions and prejudices.

 

Greer has said stupid things before. The thing is, the term "rape" is usually reserved for penetration by a penis. Are there other kinds of sexual assault? Absolutely, and the law recognizes this. Sometimes punishment is quite lenient, as was the case with the Stanford rapist. But to say that some sexual assaults are nothing more than bad sex is ridiculous. Even bad sex requires consent. If the consent wasn't there, it's not "bad sex", it's sexual assault.

@Gemma Nature? How about will power? Men have the power to withhold. We aren't primal animals resorting to our baser instincts. We have laws in society and raping a woman against her will, is a crime. However, I agree that a night of bad sex, then regretting it isn't rape. But we aren't talking about that. At least im not.

@blackplastic neither am I. nor do I believe that any cases of 'regretted bad sex' actually get prosecuted as rape. barely any rapes get prosecuted. And when they do, it's not justice. there is no such thing as justice for rape. Just mild inconvenience for the rapist.
