I wish more people would be more encouraging to new authors on the site. But sadly many forget that this is a free site where we offer up our stories for nothing. Very few authors here will ever see a dime for anything they post and those that have usually have to pull their work from the site upon having it published.

The only true thing we will ever receive is the praise of our readers in the form of positive comments and votes. Unfortunately we also get the opposite as well. For this reason alone I made a vow to never tell even the worst authors that their work sucks or to down vote them.

We always should remember that the majority of posters are people that are submitting something they created in their free time without any compensation then a few positive comments and votes from anonymous readers. All the while navigating the gauntlet of troll voters and comments.

 

If I really love a story I will log in and give it 4 votes (when the site works). If I like it, I'll give it 1, and I do that frequently. I really have to dislike something to give it 1 down vote, and I'll usually leave a comment explaining why. It has to be pretty stinking horrible to get 4 down votes.

jab13 has potential. The down side is none of his stories are finished and none of them contain sex. They're great in my opinion. I hope he does continue them.

 

Note to darthel0101: All the author profile links are now fucked. I discovered this today when I couldn't log in. I went to the bookmark of my profile to see if my account was even still there, and it was an "unknow user" [sic] page. I was very sad for a couple of minutes (more for the loss of the user comments than anything, the stories themselves I have copies of), then I decided to search for one of my stories, and it was still there. I clicked on my author name and the profile is still there too, but my profile number is different (was 937448, is now 780068).

It kind of looks like there was a massive user account purge and then the user database shifted everyone down to fill in the gaps. I'm not sure what the highest number was before, but right this moment it's 887451. (Users that already had numbers lower than that, their profile URL now just points to a different user entirely.) Others were having problems logging in as well and I've PMed an admin about that. I'm guessing that account passwords got lost when the database shifted.

Anyway, just a heads up that it looks likely you'll have to redo all the author links in your list from scratch. At least there is a currently functioning alphabetical authors list.

Now, imagine if that alphabetical list actually showed all of the authors...then it truly would be a useful resource. In other words, you cannot find me using that list. Odd. Of course, you couldn't find me before the migration either. Perhaps if I only had a name...

Well, it has been some time since I visited the site and I am not sure that the changes appeal too much. I would think that many of my stories will have been removed or dropped off the bottom. It seems that many of those I viewed as friends have also dropped off or are no longer posting.

Not sure the changes are for the better, will have to spend a bit more time dipping into posts to decide if I like it.

I seem to have lost the habit of writing. Inspiration has leaked out of my left ear along with most of the creative grey matter, but who knows, it might come back.

Hope 2015 is a great year for you all.

I guess im not anywhere on the list, oh well I write more hardcore than some can stand. Ill just have to come up with some more soft core material, eventually ;P

 

Typically one gets on the list when they post here in the forum as well as the stories site. That's not a rule, rather, it's because here there are some interactive conversations, and you'll get noticed more by those who can a) leave comments or b) nominate you for the list. Just by posting here you might get noticed by the guy who updates the list. The hardness and softness of your writing will not affect your ability to make the list. Generally if you write well, you will be welcomed to it.

Post a story or two over here if you haven't already and see if you get some comments. If you do, comment back. Comment on other writer's work here and you'll make some forum friends. You might also check out the CAW, listed in a separate thread here. It's a writing contest and there's just a little less than two weeks left. Maybe you can crank out a story for it?

(nods head) since I started posting more in the forum I've gained a few people who don't like the story side or didn't till now one member wants me to stop for a week so they can catch up with the 62 stories I've written. LOL

New to writting stories on here. Started writing "The Sexcapades of Aurora and Dylan". I have many more ideas but don't get a lot of comments. I was hoping for some inspiration. I definatly would not consider myself a writer, but it has been intriguing to put the stories in my head in writing. I will have to see how well the first 2 chapters are received and go from there. May not be on the recommended list yet, but eventually hope to be.
