The House Ethics Committee announced Tuesday it has launched an investigation into sexual harassment allegations against Democratic Rep. John Conyers, after he admitted to settling a complaint with an ex-staffer who reportedly said she was fired for rebuffing his advances

Ahead of the allegations published in The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday, Oscar winner John Lasseter — who directed “Toy Story” and “Cars” and is known as one of the most powerful men in film — admitted to making staff feel “disrespected” and “uncomfortable” and announced that he’s going on leave.

 

There are reports that women in Alabama are mobilizing against Roy Moore. And if that is true Moore, Trump, Bannon, and all Moore's supporters are toast.

Women have had enough and are a political force to be reckoned with. The polls in Virginia showed Democrats with a 2 or 3 point lead. And instead Democrats won by closer to 10 points. And that is because polls cannot account for voter turn out. And the voter turn out in Virginia was massive and a huge part of that turn out was women who turned out to vote for women. And they elected women in record numbers.

But there is also a bigger loser than Moore. And that is Trump. What he said yesterday was so outrageous and contradictory it has actually taken some of the focus and wrath off Moore and put it right back on him and his own sexual harassment and assault. Just the very idea that someone should be believed because they deny it and the accusers must all be liars has enraged people, especially women coast to coast.

I hope you are right. The most recent polls show that the election is too close to call.

Roy Moore's supporters in the religious right may turn up en mass as an act of defiance. Those people feel besieged by a culture they do not like, so they have a tendency to circle the wagons when one of theirs is attacked.

Nevertheless, some of those people do have some integrity. Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart still have followings, but they never recovered the popularity they had before their sex scandals.

Roy Moore in the Senate will embarrass those few Republicans who still have a sense of decorum. Unfortunately, he will give Trump one more vote for his Make America Greater for the Republican Donor Class agenda.

 

Moore denies the allegations.
Whether believable or not, no matter the "evidence" presented by the media against him, the man has every right to his day in court.
And the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
At least, that is the way it is supposed to work in America.

 

Many people decide a person's guilt or innocence by their political party.
Wonder why they put political parties above morals?

 

What a laughable joke that Moore deserves his day in court when that is actually impossible unless the accusers or Moore decides to sue which neither are going to do. So the only applicable standard is the preponderance of evidence. Which is huge with more than nine different accusers and many corroborating witnesses.

But lets go ahead and apply this standard. So Bill Clinton, Harvey Weinstein, Al Franken, John Conyers, and Charley Rose, should all be assumed innocent? And especially Bill Cosby. He must be innocent because he actually did have his day in court and wasn't convicted.

I literally do laugh at the pretzels some posters will twist themselves .into just to try and protect Moore and Trump

 

There is no evidence to support the claims made against Moore. There is only accusations and hearsay...

However with Al Frankenperv, there is photographic evidence and with Slick Willie, there is DNA....

There is Moore's being banned from the Gadsden Mall for harassing young girls...

 

That was debunked by that Mall's current and old line management-----
but MSNBC or CNN would never had shown the interview in front of reporters....

 

That's fake news you know? Besides it's not evidence of sexual misconduct.... I've seen people handing out religious and political information that were banned from stores and malls...

Only thing it would prove anyway is he was banned from a mall...

 

The former manager of the Gadsden Mall in Alabama, Barnes Boyle, has denied ever banning GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore from the shopping center because he harassed teenage girls.

Boyle, who managed the center from 1981 to 1996 and plans to vote for Moore in next month's election, said he would have documented any such incident and does not believe the mall has the paperwork to prove any such ban took place.


"We did have written reports and things. But to my knowledge, he was not banned from the mall," Boyle told WBRC in Birmingham, Ala.

I did mention in an earlier post that if he had been banned there would have been written documentation of it to protect the Mall from a possible lawsuit. Particularly since Moore was as assistant DA at the time.
If there isn't anything written down then the rumor of a ban is just a rumor. The allegations of assault are another matter and should be treated with the same consideration as all other such allegations against any politician or celebrity.
Denials of wrongdoing are not proof of innocence.

 

Now see, right away the spew starts; if Shooter doesn't attack Moore, he must be protecting him. He must approve of child molesters and pedophiles.

Stumbler is using incorrect logic in his argument(s).

Shooter points out that Moore, under our legal system, is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
That does not mean or even infer that Shooter defends or believes in pedophilia or condones sexual assault or sexual harassment.
It means Shooter supports and believes in our legal concept of "Innocent until proven guilty"

The issue is that the man denies the charges against him, and under our laws, the man is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Moore, as the General points out, has not been charged with any crime, nor has he been sued. So, to the extent that Moore is being demonized by the media and by unsupporters, he is being treated wrongly.
The man is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

But then Stumbler, just to further expose how his mind works, suggests that the following should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Stumbler is incorrect;

• Bill Clinton,(found guilty of perjury and disbarred in connection with his sex case, and admitted he lied to America about his conduct)
  
• Harvey Weinstein, (He has settled civil suits several times when sued for sexual harassment)
  
• Al Franken, (admitted his guilt)
  
• John Conyers,(Denies wrong doing but has also settled law suits for sexual harassment)
  
• Charley Rose, (has also admitted he behaved poorly)
  
• Bill Cosby. Is in fact innocent under the law.

My opinion is the same as that expressed by @JoeDirty earlier in the thread. This guy had an unhealthy interest in young girls when he was in his 30's and his record as a Judge shows he has a tendency to side with the accused and not the victim in many sexual assult cases. Most of us cannot conceive of what it is like to be the victim of a sexual assault or a rape but times are changing and many people who perhaps did not understand that the ability to consent needs time to develop now realize this. A man in his 30's can manipulate a young girls in their teens and this can stay with them without them making it public. Then a horror happens...........a man they know to be a rapist decides to run for public office and they take the bold decision to say something!

This is just supposition but it fits the evidence just as well as the Judge's version however the judges version is that of one man and the victims are more than one person, furthermore and the kicker for me is that one of the victims says she was 14 yrs old and the Judge signed her yearbook!!

I hope the people of Alabama do the right thing and vote for someone other than the Judge!

Those are being shot down also-----the yearbook deal is a joke and they will not turn it over for examination but that one the girl claimed she worked there and an old time employee said she never did nor did she ever see Moore there....

A retired Alabama police officer said she was told to keep an eye on Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore because he was known to harass teenage cheerleaders at local school ball games in the 1980s.

Ex-Gadsden cop Faye Gray told MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell that rumors of Moore liking young girls were heard on a daily basis and she was even informed that he had been suspended from Gadsden Mall because he would often target young female employees.

“We were also told to watch him at the ball games and make sure that he didn’t hang around the cheerleaders,” Gray said.

“The rumor was that Roy Moore likes young girls,” she added. “It was not only in our department but at the courthouse, too.”

Mall officials told us they are not in possession of records that would identify who was banned in the late 1970s and 1980s. A Gadsden Mall spokeswoman told us:

We don’t have any records that date back that far.

When we called mall security, the worker who answered the phone told us the same thing.

What we have here is one person, who says he will vote for Roy Moore, and who probably has liked him for a long time, saying that he "does not recall" Moore being banned. We have a much larger number of people saying that they do recall Moore being banned.

It is impossible to verify one way or another, because records going back that far have not been kept.
