So on the way home I caught about thirty minutes of Michael Savage. I know he's a little more extreme than most right-wing talk show hosts, and it had been a couple of years since I had really listened to his show.

I couldn't believe the outright lies coming from my radio. Seriously. It's not a matter of disagreeing with him; it's a matter of falsehood, assumptions not based on fact, and outright lies.

Does anybody take him (and others like him, for that matter) seriously? Who is really the market for this?

It is so sad that so many people trust what they hear and see, rather than what they themselves read. So many people trust the almighty TV, it's like a drug, they dont check facts, they just assume that if it's on the almighty TV, it must be true.

P.S. he is full of shit, 98.99% of the time. He pushes HIS views whether they have any basis in fact. I'm not real smart, like many of you are, but I'm not just a dumb blond either.

the previous post gave all the reasons why I only turn the TV on to watch my 2 or 3 favorite entertainment show, and only sci-fi. No political bullshit in them.

 

Michael (Wiener) Savage is a hate-monger like Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin, only without the charm.

I'm kidding, they have no charm either.

My opinion of him was cemented one day when I was flipping radio channels and heard him ranting about how thousands of destitute Iranian villagers minding their own business deserved to die in the major earthquake there a few years ago. All because the people who run Iran don't like the existence of Israel. What a cold, callous BASTARD he is. If there's a hell, there's a special place for him to burn in it forever.

And yes, people DO take him seriously, and that's scary.

 

Ann Coulter should be pressed against the brick wall and shot.

 

I think religious superstition is partly to blame, its time we cosigned the concept of God, heaven & hell, to the dustbin of history along with Zeus and Thor. Perhaps then people might try to enjoy the one life we do have and let others do so too. People like you can help make heaven here on earth.

 

I may have one wing in the fire, but I'm a firm believer in God, heaven and hell. Tweleve years ago I was dying and they didn't think I would make it. Well, I'm back, it was a long, long struggle, but I thank God everyday that I'm alive and for giving me my life back...I enjoy my life to the fullest and I don't think my beliefs hinder me from doing that.

 

Him and Rush Limbaugh are butt buddies and send loving e-mails to Sen. Foley. Plus, they all have get the same Rx drugs

 

The sad part of it is that there are people out there that take him seriously. People like Savage scare me to death. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, however, they can cause a lot of problems in this already mixed-up world.

 

The lefties have their share of crazies too that people believe. I think its harder and harder to get a semi-neutral report. Its even hard to try to listen to the left, then the right, then come to our own conclusions because the facts are so vastly diffrent on the same issue. I have no idea how to undertand what is happening now. I like BBC, but other than that, i don't know. I just hate hwo on the same issue the left and right are soooo far apart you can't draw middle ground.

As for Ann Coulter, theres a book by an annoynmous author called I Hate Ann Coulter. Its a funny read and calls her out on her bullshit. Like the plagerism, hyprocisy, and all her other stupid things she does.

 

I don't actually buy this. The truth is, the left is much less represented, and those on the left with anything *close* to mainstream exposure are never as venemous, spiteful, and directly deceitful as those on the right.

I don't say that because I tend to be leftist. I say it because I've listened to a lot of talk radio (I don't catch the television news channels often, though) on both sides, and the actual discourse tends to be different.

 

I've heard people refer to, for example, Molly Ivins in this vein. But I don't think Molly Ivins is crazy OR malicious, and I've never read anything she wrote that wasn't supported by facts.

From childhood, the first defense of people who are caught lying through their teeth is: "Everyone does it." But everyone does NOT do it.
