What did Mueller walk back?

 

Mueller said the Buzzfeed story was not accurate. He didn't say it was untrue or elaborate on what the inaccuracy was. Buzzfeed says it's their story and they are sticking to it. They invited Mueller to say what was inaccurate but he hasn't responded. Meanwhile, at the White House...

 

And that is just it. This is a trainwreck no matter how it happened or who is responsible. And Mueller's statement instead of clearing anything up just created more clouds. The spectrum runs from just really bad reporting to what appears to be a denial/non-denial from Mueller's office.

Buzzfeed continues to stand by their reporting. The whole rest of the MSM is wiping the egg off their faces. As am I.

This looks like a false flag to me that Buzzfeed bought hook line and sinker. And set off a feeding frenzy.

It is interesting that this supposed false flag induced Trump to publicly commit a felony with a penalty four times more severe than the one the Buzzfeed story alleged.

Buzzfeed's story suggested that Trump had ordered Cohen to lie to Congress and cover up details of his Trump Tower Moscow deal. If true, and so far it has not been absolutely refuted by Mueller but only called inaccurate, this might carry a penalty of 5 years in a jump suit that matched Trump's skin tone.

Trump's reaction to the story was to make threats against Cohen's father. That's called witness tampering in legal circles and carries a penalty of up to 20 years in a federal slammer. So false flag or not, it couldn't have had a more satisfying effect from Mueller's point of view.

First, trump didn't threaten anyone; a 10 year old knows what a threat is.

Second, even after the Buzzfeed story was exposed as " inaccurate" the despicables cling to the faint hope that somehow their wet dream can still be true.

See, everyone else has already learned that when a story is based on "a source familiar with the situation" or "a source that needs to remain unidentified" it is almost certainly "inaccurate".

You got it. And to illustrate just how right you are we could ask the Trump supporters if Trump did not intend to threaten Cohen then why did he bring his father in law into it for the second time? But you and I both know that would be a total waste of time.

And just about the time I was ready to just write the Buzzfeed story completely off ol' Rudy gets drunk and goes on TV and says of course Trump talked to Cohen about his testimony. So what? With the what being the distinct possibility Trump did instruct Cohen to lie to Congress. So we can't just put the Buzzfeed story to bed yet. Especially when Rudy also admitted the Trump Tower Moscow project was still being negotiated from the first day Trump started to run until the night he was elected which is exactly what Cohen lied to congress about telling them the project ended months before that.

Then there is this. One thing I watch isn't just what people investigating Trump/Russia say but maybe more importantly what they don't say. Because its easy to forget that people in congress get classified briefings where they are told things that must remain secret. So they always know way more than we do. And they are just sitting on that information until the time comes when they can reveal it. But they often drop hints about what they know.
