Maybe he had dinner as well? Or read a newspaper. Or went to the bathroom, I wouldn't be at all surprised. I bet the revelations will just keep on coming.

Las Vegas gunman sprayed 200 shots at hotel security guard six minutes before opening fire on crowd

A hotel security guard was shot by the Las Vegas mass shooting’s gunman six minutes before he opened fire on concert-goers, authorities said on Monday, revising the timeline of the attack.

Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo had previously said the guard was shot after gunman Stephen Paddock fired at the country music festival and that the guard’s arrival in the hallway of the Mandalay Bay hotel may have caused Paddock to stop firing.

It was not immediately clear why the timeline of the shooting changed a week later and what the impact could be on the investigation.

On Monday, Lombardo said security guard Jesus Campos was in a hallway of the Mandalay Bay hotel responding to a report of an open door when he heard drilling from Stephen Craig Paddock’s room.

Paddock, who had installed three cameras to monitor the approach to his suite, opened fire through the door, spraying 200 shots down the hall and wounding the guard, who alerted other security officials, Lombardo said.

Head of FBI in Las Vegas Is Comey Appointee – No Wonder the Investigation is a Complete Mess!

The current Head of the FBI in Las Vegas was appointed by former FBI Head and now admitted leaker James Comey. Is this why the investigation is such a mess?

Aaron Rouse was interviewed in a report on November 4th of 2016 out of Las Vegas –

With an American flag pin on his lapel and an assertive smile on his face, the new special agent in charge of the FBI’s Las Vegas Division introduced himself. Appointed by FBI Director James Comey, Aaron Rouse compared his first days on the job back in September to drinking from a firehose, adding that it was a “good hectic.”

Rouse started his career in law enforcement 25 years ago as a New York state trooper, and he’s been with the FBI for two decades, working violent crime and then forming part of a fugitive task force in the agency’s Washington Field Office. He has held leadership positions in Florida and Texas, and before moving to Las Vegas was section chief in the Counterintelligence Division at FBI headquarters.

The investigation into the events and the motive behind the Las Vegas shooting last Sunday night is in flux. To date no motive is provided by the FBI and local police.

Last week a press conference was held jointly by the FBI and the local Sheriff in Las Vegas concerning the recent murder of at least 59 people in that city. The Sheriff appeared transparent in the information he supplied. But the major question that everyone wanted to know was – why did the killer do it? What was his motive?

At this point, FBI special agent Rouse took the microphone. Instead of providing any information relevant to the mass murder – suicide, he berated everyone there and the millions watching on TV. The special agent in charge of the Las Vegas Division of the FBI said:

Our resolve is firm. We will get to the bottom of this no matter how long it takes…we must focus on facts. We cannot give into conjecture. We cannot respond to every little Twitter feed that may indicate a theory. We need to be focused on the facts. You need us to be right. You expect us to be right and we want to be right….

Yesterday we found out that the killer shot the security guard before he fired on the crowd of people. This directly contradicts with the earlier report that the security guard found the room of the killer and stopped him from shooting on the crowd. As a result many more questions are raised like – Why the change in story? Why did the killer ever stop shooting on the crowd if the security guard did not stop him?

The FBI’s lack of transparency along with the corrupt and criminal acts by former FBI Directors lead all of America to begin forming conspiracy theories and to further lose trust in the FBI.

So now we find out that the FBI’s lead investigator into the worst shooting in modern US history was appointed by corrupt Comey. No wonder its a mess!

All valid but you seem to be missing the point which is that people that stockpile weapons for "no particular reason" other that to have more don't get looked at as suspicious UNTIL they go on a killing spree and there has to be a central registry to account for all of these weapons and yes that may infringe on peoples right to do what they want BUT it may also save the next batch of innocent lives that WILL be lost in the near future as someone tries to break the new record for shooting deaths ...

I don't know what the magic number is but it surely can't be more than 5 at which point it just becomes obsessive compulsion. I own 5, which may be 3 too many already !!!

In all seriousness, enjoy your guns, however many you own, and for whatever purpose you own them. Just don't shoot anyone if you can help it.

Guns are, for Shooter, like those fucking crotch rockets. You know, the ones with 400 HP and can go 200 MPH; they are "legal" for the streets and any damn fool with the money can own one, even if they have zero clue how to operate one.

If we aren't going to ban/restrict all the other dangerous toys out there, why do we need to ban or restrict guns?

Yeah, Shooter knows; guns are designed only to kill, crotch rockets and muscle cars are designed to transport.

But, at some point, aren't we really just arguing about a degree or two of difference?

I only "couldn't help it" once ... someone comes in my house uninvited and they are mine.

Cars and bikes aren't made for killing but yes they have that power, but so does a toothbrush when you stick it in someone's eye !!!

Don't know about two shooters but there were two guns shooting during the event.
    They didn't even sound similar.
Now with the FBI working on it we will never know the truth.

The whole thing about now the security guard was shot 6 minutes before Paddock started shooting into he crowd, when they originally reported he was shot about 10 minutes after he started shooting into the crowd, smells fishy. That's a hell of a shift in the timeline.

What the hell did the hotel security do after someone sprayed 200 rounds in the hallway?

Las Vegas shooting: Police in major switch of timeline
    • 4 hours ago
The gunman behind last week's Las Vegas massacre shot a security guard six minutes before the attack, police say, in a striking change to the timeline.

Police initially said the guard interrupted Stephen Paddock as the attack was under way.

The revelation raises questions as to why police did not pinpoint Paddock's location sooner and why they have changed the timeline now.

The attack left 58 people dead and was the worst in modern US history.

Security guard Jesus Campos was at first credited by authorities with distracting the gunman from killing more people.

But on Monday police revised their account of events to clarify that Mr Campos was shot in the leg and wounded at 21:59.

They said Paddock, who had placed security cameras outside his room, shot Mr Campos through the door of his suite, firing 200 rounds into the hallway.

According to police, the guard was investigating an alarm that went off in another room on the same floor when he heard a drilling sound from Paddock's room.

The gunman inserted spy cameras into the peep hole on the door of his suite, police have previously said.

Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo also amended the date on which police believe Paddock checked into Mandalay Bay.

Police officers who entered the Las Vegas gunman's hotel room describe what they saw.
They initially said he had checked in on 28 September, three days before the shooting.

They now say he checked in on 25 September.

Paddock sprayed gunfire from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay hotel on to a concert attended by thousands of people.

'Some things were bound to change'
Sheriff Lombardo said that police did not realise that the security guard had been shot until they arrived on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel.

That was the case even though the guard managed to alert the hotel's security team.

Mr Lombardo said new information had emerged during the investigation and that "some things were bound to change" given its complicated nature.

Police also say that the gunman, 64, was seen on numerous occasions in Las Vegas gambling heavily by himself the night before the shooting, which ended with him killing himself.

Paddock was dead by the time officers entered the room and it is not known why he had stopped shooting.

"This individual purposely hid his actions leading up to this event, and it is difficult for us to find the answers," Mr Lombardo told a news conference. Paddock's motives remain unclear.

Extensive research into the gunman's mental state found no explanation for such a violent turn of events, police say.

It is suspected Paddock scouted out other locations near open-air concerts in the weeks before the Las Vegas attack.
