I find it very curious that in all other discussion areas of this porn-supported forum you find tolerance, understanding and a general belief that we're mostly the same-- but with an extra quirk or fetish thrown in for spice. We don't engage in labeling and hate speech when replying to posters engaging in adultery, beastiality, scat/piss, incest, etc etc.

But here in GD we allow others to see our true selves by rushing to judge, personal attacks, rampant labeling of anyone who disagrees with you.

"They" say we should never engage in discussions about sex or politics in public but on this forum we can be civil to sexual degenerates but lunch virulent attacks on everyone we don't even know who has a different opinion on a single topic.

Why?

 

While I'm not certain if you are referring to mostly the political discussions, but politics breeds contempt. I'm sure a lot of that viterol spills over into other GD threads. But sex... Whole different ball of hot wax on the nipples.

I've also noted that in contrast to other political forums, people are not here to educate or enlighten themselves, instead people use this forum as a means to lash out at their "opponents".

 

Speak for yourself, the only folks that have very little tolerance to others opinions on site, are generally those that have very strong opinions about the political left.

In today's political climate, it's difficult to examine a so called conservative position, without making someone look stupid. This leads to hurt feelings and and a general hostility toward anything that doesn't toe the GOP party line. A lot of people assume a conservative and possibly racist, because I am middle aged white southern male. Then they hear me speak and think I couldn't possibly be a conservative, because I am so smart, but I don't sound like a liberal.

 

A lot of posters get angry at me because my many facts conflict with what they want to believe in.

Nevertheless, I shrug off even the most egregious insults.

Being right about everything is the best revenge.

When I post my "true" opinion in any racial/gender/political/religious thread, and it's upsetting, then it's just a "joke", okay?

But really, I have no real opinion for any of those kind of threads one way or the other, so I just come up with some hair-brain thought to post, right on the spot and it's usually something dumb like defending Al Sharpton or radical Islam and I just suck at debate and I shouldn't have touched it in the first place, so just know that it's a "joke".

I approach each thread with the same attitude. Opinions are like ass holes. Everyone has on and most of them stink. Although it does annoy me when these opinions and tyrants throw threads off topic.
