I'm not sure if anyone has come up with this idea before me or not but I'm posting this just in case.

I have been thinking about the options for profiles on this site and have concluded that is might be a good idea to create and delete option. For example an author should have the right to delete comments on their own story pages. along with having the choice to delete their own story should they find that it needs to be corrected or simply desire to remove the story itself for other reasons. This might have a good impact and give this site a higher rating from the authors who have stories they wish removed without needing to send a request email to have their own stories deleted by a site administrator and such.

 

Huh, that's a great idea! I don't think anyone else has come up with it. Maybe you could send a message to the site administrator and suggest it?

 

I imagine the reason such an option doesn't exist already is that it invites abuse in the first 24 hours of a story's lifespan: If someone votes it down and you're unhappy about that, delete and repost it until the early votes start going your way.

Not hard to guess this would get out of hand pretty fast.

 

The option to delete comments has never been available, because it would allow the author to get rid of any bad critiques. Many sites still do not offer the option. Those that do monitor the author's deletions to see that they aren't padding the reviews with only good comments.

 

Hey, then this site should do that...and let the Mods monitor author's deletions. I heard all of you get such high stipends that you probably wouldn't mind a wee bit of extra work. Heck, might cause some of you to get time and a half pay, ya' know? :excited:

Hey Merc, just having a little fun with you.

What you have suggested has been bandied about in this forum perhaps a dozen times since I joined the site. There's just not a lot of incentive for the owners to make big changes since they don't derive any revenue from the Sex Stories area, nor from these message boards.

I, for one, would be fine if they introduced ads over in this section and the Sex Stories area if it would allow for some financial investment in upgrading the site. But that's just one voice.

I would love it if they had a report button on the other site, so we could get rid of the garbage posted there. Of course, then I might have to ask for a raise. Let's see 5% of nothing is....
