The world conflict post. on the middle east. Or Castro or anything other that the origional direction of this forum. Should all these personal opinions be here? Do we hear from scholars of history? Or is this totally personal opinions?

 

Freedom of Speech

This is not about freedom of speech, this is about using this forum for its intended purposes and not wasting our time and space.
There are plenty of sites to voice your politcal opinions, I cumm here to get away from all of that for awhile.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this not the General Discussion forum? Does not the discription state "Anything that does not belong in the other forum"? Why should it bother you what other's want to discuss. You can comment with impunity on sex with family or sex with animals, but you can't discuss politics? This doesn't strike you as...well just stupid? The thread topic I started was quite clear in it's subject matter and if your not interested, why would you even bother to read it? You yourself stated in another thread that things were getting a bit dull around here.

I don't mind non-sexual topics... but I rather not read about the political and religious conflicts happening in the world. I know it's happening and that's bad enough but reading people tearing each other down more due to it I can't stand.

 

I don't mind ... some people don't go to any other message boards and this might be the only 'cross-section' of people they can discuss these things with in the comfort of anonymity.

As long as the thread title is explicit (for instance, I've learned to stay out of the ones that say 'shit' or the like), I've go no problem with them being here.

 

Never silence an opinion.

 

When an opinion can do more harm than good, it should be watched carefully. Remember, even Hitler had an opinion... and it hurt too many people.

 

I disagree with ShakeZula's opinions, but I think this is a great place to discuss them. Why limit the discussion on this board? You don't have to click on it; if you do you don't have to read it. I'm sure it's not taking up too much server space.

Like has already been said, if you don't like a topic/discussion, don't join in with it. What's the big problem. Same goes with people arguing.. If people want to flame each other, let them.

 

I agree with most here. I think it's great that there are threads other than the norm and that people can "attempt" and I stress attempt to talk like adults on here and have a good discussion every once in awhile. I think it's a good thing for people on here to care about more than sex and show it by posting a thread about it. I think the topics should be discussed more maturely but hey if you all want to act like monkeys and throw shit at each other, be my guest.

 

I enjoy reading and/or participating in topics that have nothing to do with sex. It just shows that we have minds that aren't in the gutter all the time. :wink: You also get to know people's personalities a little better when you talk about something other than sex.

there are two things you shouldn't debate: politics and religion. neither are based on logic so it's not worth arguing over.

 

I think they should not be allowed. Certain forums have a distinct topic in which people talk about. Such as news forums, growth and development forums, sex forums, personals, etc etc. This is a sex forum for talking about, asking advice, and overall discussion about sex. I believe in freedom of speech and everything but there are times and places for everything.

Honestly I like football more than sex and women. Football is my life. but I don't start topics about how the Bengals are going to go to the super bowl this year. It's just not the place.

 

I'm all for free speech, so let's not have any rules.

No, I am just saying hateful attitudes and opinions can escalate into seriously wrong issues. Note I didn't single you out when I first posted. but again it's my "opinion". I had family that was Jewish and killed by Hitler so I am not just invoking Godwin. Just stating my "opinions" same as you were.

Edit: Just one last note, I didn't take part in your thread ShakeZulu so please don't throw they "Don't like it, don't join it." I read it, got sick to my belly, not your fault... just forgot that certain parts og the Quoran was that violent.

 

I would argue that even those with opinions that are dangerous and deserving to be watched should still have the chance to express those opinions.

This probably breeds from a genuine distrust of the people usually set in charge of watching those (and deciding those) who "need to be watched."

Along with freedom of speach, you have freedom of choice. If you don't want to read the post or get into that kind of debate, then don't go into thoes threads.

HI: The vote on this came out pretty well as I expected. Years back I read Orwell's 1984, and said to myself,, well that is anit-communist. Now I am seeing it as what is going on here with our own leaders. PLEASE DO NOTHING TO TAKE AWAY ANY MORE FREEDOM OF SPEECH. I hope we recover from our loss of freedom before time has made it the norm..
