Tell me why you think there is an upside. I myself can see the need for educated people who desire a better life here and come legally, but the uneducated?

Mr Smith 36, please read my brief essay in its entirety before adding me to your idiots' list.

Registered Democrats are probably more supportive of illegals than registered Republicans. Nevertheless, this is an issue that separates the elites of both parties from most Americans who vote for either party.

Elite Republicans are usually business owners, and executives in the older corporations: automobiles, steel, coal, oil, etc. Elite Democrats are usually well educated, well paid bi coastal professionals like Hillary Clinton. They are also executives in Hollywood and in high tech firms. Elite Democrats want to legalize the illegals. If they can't do that they went to blur the distinction between legal and illegal immigrants, by extending to the illegals as many of the rights of legals as they can. Elite Republicans want to encourage more illegals to come here, but they want to keep them from voting.

Toward the end of his life William Buckley wrote a column about Hispanic immigration. He probably expressed the way elite Republicans talk to each other when they don't think anyone else is listening.

Buckley said that Hispanic immigrants enable employers to hold the line on pay increases. This is good. They usually vote Democrat. This is bad. Previous waves of European immigrants initially voted Democrat. In second and third generations they became more prosperous, and many of them began to vote Republican. Second and third generation Hispanics usually remain in low wage jobs. Therefore, they are likely to be a permanent constituency that desires re-distributive economic policies.

Buckley did not quite say it, but he sort of implied that it is in the interest of Republican elites to let illegal Hispanics remain in the United States as guest workers who can be deported if they become politically problematic.

Democrat elites want more illegals. They want to legalize them because they usually vote Democrat. They are likely to continue to vote Democrat in subsequent generations for the reason Buckley mentioned.

Also, Democrat elites are compassionate, as long as their compassion does not inconvenience them. Illegal immigrants work for them as inexpensive servants, but they do not move into their posh neighborhoods, and attend public schools in those neighborhoods. Also, Hispanics often crowd blacks out of former black neighborhoods. In the San Francisco Bay area Palo Alto is full of rich Democrats. On the other side of Route One is East Palo Alto. It used to be a black township. Now it has a much larger Hispanic population. Hispanics force blacks out because they can usually pay higher rents. They also use violence. Whites are safe in Hispanic neighborhoods. Blacks are not.

For the record, I am opposed to sanctuary cities. I am in favor of deporting illegals and Dreamers. I am opposed to H1B visas. I am in favor of more restrictions on legal immigration. I like Orientals, East Indians, Ethiopians and Jews. I do not dislike Hispanics. Nevertheless, I recognize that all immigration depresses wages.

 

So then, you are the only one advocating illegal immigration..

However, I did not ask why the elites want more illegal immigration that is fairly well known and documented. My question is to the everyday man or woman on the street, why they believe the story the elite feed them? Not only buy their phony story hook, line and sinker but defend them parroting everything they say. They even defend sanctuary cities.

I know it's hard to believe that people who CLAIM to be educated actually encourage people to break the law. I'm actually astounded at their stupidity. I just want to know exactly what is the upside for them?

If Mr Smith was president he would push for deportation for every illegal alien. Why? Here is just one simple example the libs on here may understand. Not the main reason, but good enough as any. They are uneducated people that obtain fraudulent drivers licenses and kill and maim innocent citizens. While creating havoc for travelers driving on our highways. Just imagine the air pollution that would be eliminated if 12 million automobiles were taken off the roads. Imagine how much less time it would take commuters to drive to work.

Imagine you are traveling down Interstate 81 and you see a sign flashing that warns you of an accident 5 miles up the highway, the left lane is blocked, you were educated here so you would immediately merge into the right lane, as would everyone else, there would be no idiots in the left lane driving up to the accident and then realizing they must change lanes, but everyone is in the right lane so they have to slow down to merge into the right lane. Now that causes other drivers to slow down to allow these idiots in, which eventually causes a 10 mile back up.

Mr Smith finds it incredible that normal people defend these idiots. I'm just about fed up with stupid people, so why in the hell do we want to import more?

We want the educated immigrants that come here legally and can contribute to their community. Now if when Mr Smith was explaining how these stupid uneducated immigrants think when driving their cars and it described you...well you just may be a liberal. Liberals sometimes have a difficult time understanding the need to get out of the rain. Very unfortunate isn't it?

 

Republicans who are not rich are pretty solidly against illegal immigration. That is why Donald Trump won the Republican primary and eked out a victory in the Electoral College against Hillary.

A majority of non rich Democrat voters are Hispanics, Orientals, East Indians, and Jews. Hispanics, Orientals, East Indians, and many Jews are recent immigrants, or one or two generations from immigration. They want more of their ethnicities in the old country to move here. Many have relatives there who want to move here.

I am not sure about non rich white Democrats and non rich black Democrats. My guess is that most of them are opposed to illegal immigration. They voted against Trump for other reasons.
