Massive blast as vehicles collide on motorway in China

The cause of a massive explosion after two vehicles collided on a Chinese highway remains a mystery.

Incredibly, no one was hurt in the massive blast which occurred when a truck clipped a another that was on the side of the highway early Monday near Hangzhou in China's Zhejiang Province.

The incident was captured on surveillance cameras and the collision does not initially appear to be significant.

A truck explodes after clipping another vehicle on a highway in China.

"The explosion went off just at the collision. I didn't even see how it happened. I just heard a big boom and it had occurred," on of the drivers, named Zhang, told authorities.

The highway was closed to 90 minutes while early investigations show the truck was carrying steel products and the other vehicle had paper and paints on board.

    Here is the video:

Train driver is filmed eating his lunch as a woman is dragged along a subway platform and breaks her back when she gets stuck in train doors

One man is seen trying to free her from the door before the train starts to gather speed.

It is unclear whether she was able to free herself from the door before she got dragged into the underground tunnel.

Her handbag's strap is reported to have been too thin to trigger the sensors which automatically alert the driver someone is stuck, Corriere della Sera reported.

She is reported to have been saved when passengers on board pulled the emergency alarm.

The train's driver Gianluca Tonelli pulled out of the stop while eating a sandwich.

But Mr Tonelli, who is under investigation over the incident, has claimed he was not being 'reckless' by tucking into his lunch as he drove away away.

Horrifying footage showed commuters looking on helplessly as she is pulled along the platform floor

It is unclear whether she was able to free herself from the door before she got dragged into the underground tunnel

'I am devastated by what happened to that woman.' Corriere della Sera quoted him as saying.

'But in the video it can also be seen that I look twice in the mirror, I was not reckless.

'The lady made a strange maneuver up and down, the security system has not reported anything to me and I left. Now the most important thing is that she recovers soon.'

There seems to be a puff of smoke or something from the moving truck just before the explosion. It looks like it's just behind the cab.
They had to be carring more then just paint, and paper.

Californians are being systematically poisoned by a cancer causing agent in their drinking water. 6 million people are affected by the presence of 123TCP in their water supply.

State regulators are just today going to vote as to whether or not to make the agent outlawed ... WOW, take your time people, holy fuck !!!

They barely clipped as well and China is a backwards banana republic with some fucked up laws that allow shit like this to happen.

I used to blow shit up for the Army years ago and know how unstable explosives can be, but then again you read a lot of stories about fireworks factories going up in most of Asia.

Rascal rat has been stealing woman’s mail for months

    Move over Pizza Rat!

A rascally rodent stole a Brooklyn woman’s mail for months — squirreling it away in a nest under the stoop of her Bed-Stuy brownstone while she railed against the local post office for losing her letters, the exterminator who caught the thief told The Post.

“We don’t know if it’s male rat or a female rat — but we know it’s a ‘mail rat,'” said James Molluso, owner of Northeastern Exterminating.

Molluso uncovered 30 to 40 of the missing missives last week after the owner of the Halsey Street property spotted the vermin — ironically, while she was collecting her mail.

“I moved everything to see where the rat was going and right around the rat burrow was a ton of ripped-up mail,” he said.

“I later found out she had an ongoing thing with the post office, because she was getting late notices for bills. It turned out the mailman was throwing it on the porch and the rat was grabbing it and using it as nesting materials.”

The woman seemed a little sheepish to learn she’d been blaming the postal service for the wayward envelopes.

“You could tell she felt, ‘oooh, that’s where my mail has been going,'” he said.

The homeowner’s snail mail is likely safe from scavengers for now — Molluso put out traps and bait stations that he said should take care of it one way or another

Rats will pretty much swipe anything they can wrap their jaws around to build a home, according to Molluso — he says it’s not uncommon for the creatures to steal diamonds from jewelry stores to bling out their burrows.

“It wasn’t a surprise to me, you see all kinds of stuff,” he told The Brooklyn Paper. “Generally, its pretty much anything they can find.”

    The homeowner declined to comment.

Didnt she have a mail box? And the postal delivery guy should have known better then to just throw it any where.

There should be mailboxes inside the door. It sounds like the mail carrier was being lazy and leaving it on the stoop. NYC rats can get to be quite large too (12-16 ounces). There's a estimated 2 million rats in a city of 8 million people.

Acid attacks leave more than physical scars — and they're on the rise in Britain
A recent wave of acid attacks in London has alarmed Britons and drawn new attention to a crime once thought to be the exclusive domain of street gangs.

The U.K. has seen a dramatic increase in acid and noxious substance attacks over the past decade, with an increase of 30 per cent from 2015 to 2016 alone, according to London-based Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI). London's Metropolitan Police say the number of recorded attacks in the capital rose 74 per cent over the same period, from 261 to 454.

On Saturday, police charged a 16-year-old boy with 15 offences in connection with a series of five attacks in a 90-minute spree last Thursday that left at least one victim, a man in his 20s, with life-changing injuries.

Experts say that more and more, the targets are unrelated to gang violence.

"A lot of people work within that gang context and want to believe that that is the whole picture, but it isn't," said Dr. Loretta Trickett, professor of criminal law and criminology at Nottingham Trent University. "What we're seeing is a lot of people that have a grudge against somebody will go out armed with the acid."

In December 2014, Andreas Christopheros opened the front door to his home in Cornwall, in southwest England, to a man who said, "This is for you, mate," and threw sulphuric acid in his face.

His attacker, David Phillips, wasn't a gang member. He didn't even know Christopheros. It was a case of mistaken identity — he wrongly believed Christopheros had sexually assaulted someone he knew.

Phillips was convicted of grievous bodily harm and got a life sentence with a minimum of eight years. He successfully appealed and will get out in five.

"So when he comes out, he is a free man to do as he pleases — when at that point, there's no doubt I'll still be having surgery," Christopheros said.

The story is long but you can google the title if you care as the link has a guy with a kid so I can't post the link.

Semi and Hummer play a scary game of cat and mouse in road rage incident

A Hummer and a semi battling it out in a scary and dangerous case of road rage on a west Texas highway has angered the local sheriff and the video of the incident has gone viral.

Law enforcement officials told KWES in Midland the driver of what was described as a Hummer was angry because the truck driver threw a can out of his window, hitting the Hummer.

The incident occured on Interstate 20 between Midland and Odessa. Video of the incident popped up on Facebook and social media a couple of days ago. The source of the video, shot by someone following the two vehicles, is unclear.

“There’s no reason to be endangering the entire motor public on the interstate just because of the empty can or a can that was thrown out. It didn’t cause any damage to a vehicle,” Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter told the TV station.

The video shows the Hummer and semi-truck engaged in a dangerous cat-and-mouse game, with the Hummer refusing to let the semi pass.

Several times the semi moved into the passing lane but the Hummer cut it off by moving in front of it. The semi kept moving back and forth, from lane to lane, and the Hummer kept getting in front of the truck. The semi even tried to pass a couple of times on the right shoulder and the Hummer blocked the way.

The driver of the Hummer hit the brakes a couple of times, too, forcing the semi to also brake.

The sheriff said the Hummer driver was the one who called police, complaining that the semi driver had tossed the can, CBS 7 in west Texas reported.

“He could’ve got fined for litter, up to a $500 dollar fine for littering on a public roadway,” Painter told CBS 7. “But he didn’t do anything else wrong, other than try to get away from a crazy guy.”

Painter noted the Hummer driver was “committing numerous violations of the law which he could’ve gone to jail for.” He said deputies would have at least ticketed the Hummer driver if they had seen the violations.

The video of the encounter is making the rounds on Facebook, inciting scorn for both drivers, but much of it directed at the Hummer driver.

Shocking bodycam of cops trying to PREVENT a suspect from jumping off a bridge during arrest proves they did not 'beat him half to death' and THROW him off as girlfriend claimed

A police chief has rebutted false claims that his officers beat a suspect and threw him off a bridge, answering critics with his best weapon: body camera video.

Police Chief Jonathon Horton of Rainbow City, Alabama said he knew he had to act when claims about his officers mistreating a man began showing up on Facebook last week and spread quickly.

Jonathan Dawon Davis, 29, fled cops during a traffic stop Thursday after lying about his identity and outstanding warrants, and injured himself jumping off of a 19-foot bridge, according to police statements corroborated by the video.

But after his arrest, a woman who identified herself as the mother of the Davis' children posted that he was 'beat half to death' by Rainbow City police and pushed off of the bridge.

The woman, 28-year-old Samantha West, was apparently not present at the arrest and said the account of the beating was relayed to her by people she trusted.

The false claim sparked an outpouring of vicious threats against the officers of the Rainbow City police force.

Jonathan Dawon Davis, 29, fled police during a traffic stop Thursday, new video shows

'We'd received more than 100 messages threatening to do all sorts of things, rape and kill our wives and children and launch an all-out war on police,' Horton said in an interview Monday. 'It was pretty crazy stuff.'

While body cameras have come into use as a way to monitor police behavior, Horton decided to use it for another purpose: to show there was no wrongdoing on the part of his officers.

Horton posted a 30-plus minute video on the Police Department's Facebook page that showed officers talking to Davis during a traffic stop.

Davis was wanted on felony warrants for a drug-related charge and a probation revocation, and a misdemeanor warrant for driving with a suspended license, Horton said.

The suspect at first gave a false name and said he did not have a drivers' license or know his Social Security number, Horton said in a statement.

When officers tell him they know who he is, the man bolts and jumps off a bridge over a creek, the video shows.

Samantha West made the false claim on Facebook but later apologized, saying 'excuse me for being human'

The suspect then took off his pants and tried to run along the creek embankment into the woods, despite his injuries from the fall, Horton said.

When Davis refused to show his hands or get on the ground, police used a Taser, stunning him in the back, the police chief said.

Later, the video shows officers under the bridge assisting the man, who has a bloody mouth and screams in agony about a broken leg.

Horton said officers neither prompted the man to jump nor struck him, aside from deploying the Taser.

The woman whose original message sparked the threats later posted that all she had to go on was a loved one's word 'until the body cam was released.'

'I truly believed he was done wrong and we needed help. Excuse me for being human.' There was no response to a message left on Facebook seeking comment.

Davis was charged with using a false identification to obstruct justice, resisting arrest and attempting to elude, Horton said.

Currently hospitalized for a broken leg, busted teeth and other injuries suffered in the fall, he will be jailed later.

A different woman who was in the car with Davis was charged with resisting arrest for allegedly trying to hide Davis' identity from police, Horton said, and officers are researching whether charges are possible against West, the woman whose Facebook post prompted threats.

Horton said the wave of threats toward officers stopped after the video was posted, and he hopes the worst is over.

While police critics and advocates seeking better oversight of law enforcement have pushed for bodycam videos to help prevent abuses by police, Horton said video may actually help both his officers and police elsewhere.

'I'd hate for some guy to get radicalized and think it was true and take it out on some poor cop somewhere else,' Horton said.

'That was the real thing that pushed me to do it.'

A road rage incident in Washington has a woman in hospital with injuries to her neck and back after being shot in her vehicle. The suspect later turned himself in after a massive manhunt ...

T-bone crash in Toronto road rage incident, caught on video
Toronto police are investigating a bizarre road rage incident that police say involved an extended confrontation between the driver of a pickup truck and multiple passengers in a gold-coloured sedan.

In the video, a pickup truck can be seen accelerating into a sharp turn and colliding with a gold-coloured car that is turning into the oncoming lane. The truck collides with the back door on the driver’s side, where a passenger’s face was visible moments before the collision. Both vehicles spin out onto the dusty shoulder, and a woman appears to fall out of the passenger side of the pickup truck. The gold car then flees the scene, while the pickup driver can be seen getting out of his vehicle and watching the car leave.

Police say one individual was treated for minor injuries in connection with the incident. The pickup driver was not arrested, and police have not yet located the occupants of the car. The vehicle itself was found abandoned a short distance away.

    Photos
    [IMG]
A pickup truck is shown colliding with a gold sedan in this image from witness video captured in Toronto, on July 17, 2017.

Const. Adam Preuthun says investigators believe the crash caught on video followed another collision a short time earlier, that prompted a brief fight during which a rock was thrown. The car then left the scene before returning moments later, when the T-bone collision occurred.

“It was a road rage incident,” Preuthun said.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the first collision, which occurred Monday at approximately 9:15 p.m., near the Cherry Street Bridge in Toronto’s Port Lands neighbourhood.

“All I know is I was driving straight around,” Brendan Salter, who drove the pickup truck, told CP24. “Someone came and smashed in my window with a rock. I tried to get out, I guess (the) dude turned in and smashed into the front of my truck and disappeared. That’s it.”

The witness who recorded the video said three occupants from the gold car tried to enter the pickup truck after the first collision. “Three people jump out of the vehicle, right away start screaming at the truck,” he told CTV Toronto. “They surrounded the vehicle and one of the individuals ran into the passenger door of the truck, hitting it with his knee and trying to hit the window with his arm.” He said that individual also threw a rock at the window.

The witness said they soon gave up on getting at the driver, and got back into the car and made a U-turn. That’s when the second collision occurred, as shown on video.

No charges have been laid in connection with the incident.

Caught on camera: Dog thrown from car during Montclair road rage incident
    MONTCLAIR, New Jersey (WABC) --
A dog was thrown from a car during an apparent road rage incident in New Jersey, and the incident was recorded by witnesses and posted on social media.

The incident happened on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair last Wednesday.

The video, taken by two people in a car behind the two vehicles involved, shows two men fighting in the street. After an older man punches and shoves a younger one while shouting profanity, the younger man pulls the dog from the older man's passenger seat and throws it on the sidewalk.

He then gets in his car and drives off.

Authorities say the dog is recovering and was not seriously injured.

It is unclear what led up to the argument, but police say they have spoken to both parties involved in the altercation.

Montclair police said the New Jersey SPCA and local Montclair Animal Control have taken over the investigation and would be the one to pursue criminal charges as they deem appropriate.

Hopefully he gets sent to jail. Montclair is in Essex County which is the same county as Newark. Not a nice place. Let him do some time with real criminals.

Delta flight attendant breaks wine bottle over man’s head as he goes for exit in the air: FBI agent
A flight attendant broke a wine bottle over the head of a man who lunged for an exit door and fought with other passengers during a Delta Air Lines flight from Seattle to Beijing, but it didn’t faze him, an FBI agent wrote in charging papers filed Friday.

Joseph Daniel Hudek IV, 23, of Tampa, Florida, appeared in U.S. District Court, wearing a beige jail uniform and sporting a scrape or bruise below his right eye.

He was arrested Thursday night after causing the disturbance that forced the plane to return to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, authorities said.

Hudek did not speak during the hearing. His attorney, Robert Flennaugh II, declined to comment.

Hudek was charged with interfering with a flight crew, which carries a possible sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He is expected to remain in custody at least until a detention hearing on July 13.

One flight attendant and a passenger were taken to a hospital after suffering severe facial injuries, authorities said. Perry Cooper, a spokesman for the Port of Seattle, described the injuries as non-life-threatening.

Baby dies from viral meningitis contracted through a kiss
A newborn baby girl in Iowa died on Tuesday after contracting the HSV-1 herpes virus through a kiss. The virus, which is the same one that causes cold sores, led to meningitis, a swelling of the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord.

Mariana Sifrit was born on July 1 and was by all accounts healthy. Six days after her birth, her parents Nicole and Shane got married. Hours after the wedding, they said that Mariana became lethargic and stopped feeding, so they rushed her to the hospital.

“She had quit breathing and all her organs just started to fail,” Nicole said to WHO TV.

Once they arrived at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, doctors discovered Mariana had contracted meningitis HSV-1, a herpes virus that can be transmitted by an infected person even if they don’t have an open sore. Both Nicole and Shane tested negative for the virus, and Mariana’s doctors concluded that she likely caught the virus from a kiss. She was 18 days old when she died.

Dr. Marina Salvadori, a paediatrics professor at Western University and paediatric infectious diseases consultant, told Global News that although this isn’t the most common form of passing on the herpes virus, it is possible to infect a newborn this way.

“The vast majority of babies who contract herpes get it in the birth canal,” she says. “But it can also be transmitted by a kiss on the mucous membranes or hands” because babies have a propensity for putting their hands in their mouths.

Mothers who have recurrent genital herpes, but don’t know it, transmit it to five per cent of babies, while babies born from mothers who contracted genital herpes just before delivery have a 50 per cent chance of contracting the disease.

There are several types of herpes viruses, including chicken pox, and when the virus first appears, it makes the entire body sick. Once that passes, the virus continues to live in a particular cell type in the body — chicken pox lives in the back nerves, which is why it can come back in adulthood as shingles.

“Herpes lives in the nerve cells around the mouth, which can come back as a cold sore, but the virus is present in the saliva so it can be easily transmitted even without open sores,” Salvadori says. “I see it in toddlers who have cut their hand and receive a kiss from their parent — it shows up on their finger.”

She says to avoid passing infectious viruses on to newborns, wash your hands before handling the baby, and avoid kissing the baby on their mucous membranes (eyes, nose and mouth) and hands, especially if you have a history of cold sores.

“Small babies of six to eight weeks are very vulnerable and fragile, and they’re susceptible to these viruses,” she says. “If you must kiss a baby, do it on the back of their head.”
