My name us Donald. As a new person to this site I very much appreciate this topic. It has certainly clued me in. I had a very different idea of what happens here. I am learning and hopefully I can make a few friends. As I am learning the personal section is a joke. Again I want to thank you for this topic.

As near as I can tell by going back thru old messages, I have never initiated a PM, to women or men, never seen much point in it. Nobody close enough to attempt getting into their pants,....not that I would,....you all are crazy people!.....

Right on, good guide lines. I have been a member couple of years. I've seen and followed some to obseve. In general those guides are mostly followed I would like to think because common core value Respect, being urged to be used, earned and given. So knuckle draggers if your "Gamey-game" didn't work at the local bar or dance club it will not work here

I completely agree with every thing you say in the tutorial, but, as someone with a whopping 95 (this will make 96) posts, I would like to hopefully argue for an (occasional) exception from "make a bunch of posts first."

I like this site a lot. I've made a lot of friends here via PM, but it's not always easy to just plain plunge in and get involved in a forum. Any forum, even very good ones like this, have....I don't want to say cliques because that sounds negative and I'm not going for negative....established social groups of friends. If you're at a party, and there's clusters of people who obviously know each other all chatting away, and you know no one, it's hard to just start joining a conversation. Indeed, when people are in those groups already, some dude just horning in can be annoying, and no one wants to take the risk of being annoying right off the bat.

This is especially true for folks like me. I'm very comfortable in small groups or one on one. I enjoy gatherings of three or four people, couple bottles of wine, nice conversation. In a big group I just don't know what to say or do, and a forum like this is, let's face it, a big group. Coming in and posting 500 comments can be intimidating.

So sure: sometimes the ones who have been here (on and off, sometimes off for a long time) and only have 95 (soon to be 96) posts are just weird, lying, creepy dudes, but sometimes when we PM we really are just trying to get to know other people in a way that's more comfortable, and less rude. It can be hard to tell the difference. But if someone PMs you, or anyone on the site, with an opener that sounds articulate and normal (or as normal as any of us can hope for at a place like this), give them a chance. They might just be the kind of person who's more comfortable hanging out on the deck with a bottle and a few close friends rather than a party guy, and, sometimes, that's where real friends can come from.

In the mans defense a simple hello lets one know they are intrested. No reason to text a lengthy comment only to be ignored. If you are looking for proper grammar and spelling this most likely isn't the right place for you. Most men have a hard time holding their cocks and texting so a misspelled word isn't really the end of the fucking world.

Woman are perceived by their photos, headlines and recent posts. If you get an unwanted pm or post on your profile maybe you need to look within at something you might have said to invoke such crude remarks.

2- You shouldn't tell me if this is the right place for me or not, because you don't know me or what I want. For example, I don't want to have conversations with people who sound retarded and I don't. If guys feel that using proper grammar and punctuation is not important, it's their right, but I won't talk to them. See? Everyone is free to do what they want, even me. If they feel like they're wasting their time by typing a lengthy comment and they only say "hey", I have the right to not waste my time with them.

3- I have lots of fun here, you don't have to tell me to lighten up and have fun. I'm just having the kind of fun I want, not what some stranger thinks I need.

I wrote this advice to help men talk to real women here on this site. Some will follow the advice, and some won't. It's OK, I don't take it personally. I'm the one who decides whether a message gets answered or not
