    You can now get verified on forum.

    The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

    I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

    Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

    Okay, let me explain to you all. I went to the doctor and we discussed the surgery. Yes, he'll do it. He showed me some before and after photos and I'm super excited. But he wants me to lose at least another 20 kg, more if I can. He doesn't want to operate in December, which is what I had hoped for, because he says I'll just crash diet to lose the weight by then. The problem is that I've already lost 24 kg and it's really been going very slow lately, which is normal. He wants me to wait until next year this time, which I'm not prepared to do. So we sort of settled on maybe next year April, though I have a date to see him in November, if I DO manage to lose the weight in a healthy way.

    My biggest concern was my insurance - he says they pay for the surgery, but not if somebody is at all overweight. I'd need to get my BMI under 30, which is hard because of how short I am, plus I come from a family of people with a big bone structure. He admits the BMI system is not flawless or foolproof, since it doesn't take a holistic approach. The insurance does pay for a small part of the surgery - a full R4000, meaning I'd have to pay the other R16 000 out of my own pocket. ($1 = about R10). I'd also have to pay a big part of the anesthetics, but they pay hospitalization and theater. So that's better than what I expected, but not as good as what I'd hoped for.

    All in all, I'm just bummed it won't happen this year. I so wanted to get it over and done with NOW. I feel like the kid n the middle while the other two throw the ball over my head to each other. I keep jumping to catch it but when I get close, they cruelly throw it higher. Right now, I am eyeing my bread knife and wondering how badly it will hurt if I try it myself.

    But it's all good. I can do this. I know I can. In the end, a extra 3, even 6, months, won't make a difference when I'm all hot and cute, so that's what I'm aiming for. I have to keep my eyes on the goal and if the goal moves a little bit further, well, I'll just have a little longer to go. Thank you for all your support. This isn't a life-changing thing, like being diagnosed with some sort of terminal illness, or dealing with the death of a loved one, but knowing I have support from you all makes it much easier to keep to my diet. You're the best!
