Okay. I'll offer ONE suggestion for the sexstories side. It won't really address the trolls but might help the readers. Change the order on the front page. Put the "New Stories" section first, so that we can see which stories are new, regardless of what they are rated. And the put the 30 day Vanity list second so they can use their votes and promote their friends.

Just wondering if anyone knows why the letter combination 'script' is removed from words in the Sex Stories section. Even in the comments. I noticed this because someone commented on something being very deive, then when I submitted my story, subscription kept getting changed to subion. I had to change the i's to l's for it to make sense. It does it with any word this is in. Prescription becomes preion, etc. Just curious.

 

The challenge that comes to that is if someone edits and resubmits a story it returns back to the 'new stories' section. This is turn gives rises to the accusation (fairly or unfairly) of massaging reading views. I have a load of stories that I need to edit as have found typos etc in them but won't as have already had one run in over accusations of 'massaging' my reads and don't intend to go down that route. I have even written to the admin to find out if there is a way to amend in the background and just been ignored.

 

So basically because some abused it everyone that does it is guilty. I love the way humans categorize things, no wonder they haven't gotten of this rock in so long. I think the reason they have it go back as new, is so they can make sure you didn't change everything, to something that can get them put in prison, but there should be a way to not publish it to the new section. But, then again, you'll probably more than triple the load, how many people, myself there a couple times, edited just one sentence only to find one later, after it was published again.

 

It's an issue all-around. Something we all have to deal with. Numerous authors works being buried in the sand by re-submits. I can't say I'm not guilty of it, but only because my stories were being MASSIVELY downgraded by an unknown source and I had to put a stop to it.

Now, I just let it stay and if it gets downgraded then it gets downgraded.

 

I am the guilty one: I pulled my rocker series for the fourth time due to trolls down voting every part to the series bringing them to the 80s. After being flooded with PMs I decided to repost. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that I have caused.

 

That is really an easy fix. They need an "Edit" option. Just a little box to click that says it was edited, and not resubmitted. They can still do their review as if it was new, which they would be doing anyway. Then just repost it right where it is instead of as a new story.
EVERY other site can manage this, this one should be able to as well. That one little change would probably resolve a LOT of conflicts on here.

 

Trolls are only those who can’t do something themselves and when they find someone who can, they try to destroy their confidence and bring them down to their level of patheticness. Don’t let them. You are an amazing writer. Keep it up. Where are you going to be posting from now on? I am a big fan and want to keep up with the rocker and your new story. Awesome

 

PLEASE - do NOT feed the trolls. Ignore the trolls. Just post your latest chapters of your stories when you finish writing them, and finish doing any proofreading and/or editing post- the raw writing you feel that you need to do.* I have read, and re- read all eight ( 8, ) so far, parts of your "The Rocker" story. They are REALLY good. I hope you WILL be doing a "The Rocker, Part 9" REAL soon.

*Opps! NOT the most cohesive sentence there, but hopefully you caught the drift of what I was trying to say. Hey, what do you expect? - it's about 1:15 A.m, here, as I'm typing this.

 

There's nothing wrong with taking your time and proofreading a story to death before posting. Though that might just be my inner perfectionist speaking... I certainly let typos squeak by here and there, but as Julie said, it's probably not worth the trouble of editing and re-submitting because of the way this site sorts its stories. An option to edit past stories without pushing them to the top of the "NEW" list would be ideal, but that might be abused as well.

I don't know what the solution is. It's unrealistic to expect everyone to be 100% satisfied with their own stories; who doesn't want to go back and change something every now and then? But it's unfair to the readers to ninja-edit something after it's been read and expect people to re-read it in order to know what you changed before the next installation of a story is posted. If they didn't, then they might be confused with the direction of the story if you changed something fundamental. These are just my two cents from my personal experience. I'd like to hear more thoughts on a potential work-around to this overly-complicated system.

 

True, but if you're not changing sentences or words and just changing the god awful way the editor formats them I have no problem with that. I have gone and edited because

this happens.

There are so many good editing apps out there, ones that you can see how the sentences and paragraphs are going to look before you publish and transcribe your story exactly as you edited.
I mean this forum has a 10 times better editor, as proof just look at all the nifty buttons above the reply box, and it's for short comments, why can't that be brought over to sex stories.

 

A review button on the text input page would be helpful. This way you could review the story as you are editing it, keeping the editor open and opening the story as it will be shown in a new tab or window.

 

When re-reading stories there is always something I would like to change/add but afraid to for it will be reposted and I don't want to be one of 'THOSE' author's who is addicted to their names posted on the top 30 list.

That's why it takes me at least 2-months to do a new chapter because of how many times I re-read my stories. Even with that I still want to re-edit. Lol

 

I read a quote years ago, can't remember who it was from or where I read it, might have even been my own head : "It's not writing the story that's difficult, but knowing where to stop changing it and editing it, that is the true challenge."

 

Is it possible to incorporate images into narratives in this Forum, please?
