I for one will be extremely happy to see your stories back. Sorry about calling you a hypocrite but I needed to have my rant and get it off my chest....and I need to know how “The Rocker” & “ soul mates” end.

 

Looking at the latest stories being offered by our authors it seems having only 'registered voters' decide your stories fate is the prevailing theme.

People have stated they don't care about the votes but in 'ACTUALITY' we care a great deal.

My concern is this: Your story has 3000 views with only 10 votes. Sure you may be 10 for 10 but what happens when you two negative views... The story plummets.

Not sure if my last offering of WaDaSM part 4 will follow this trend.

 

As a reader more than an author (my old account got banned and I lost all my works cause I was dumb cunt and only wrote them on the site) I look at a juicy 100% story and I think its gonna be something special, then it turns out to be just some ass whose afraid of letting democracy decide their fate. When I read one of these stories if its not worth a solid 100% I drop a downvote on that bitch. Call me an asshole if you want. I think it its just attention whores trying to game the system. I dont always do it I gave @Mojavejoe420 an upvote for his story because it was acutally worth it. thats just how I rate. If I think your story is a solid 9/10 and its at 85% I upvote. If I think its a solid 9/10 and its at a hundred, I downvote.

 

Interesting voting system. I'm not in total agreement with how @albertofatto gives his vote, but because I don't agree I still respect it. I think the top 30 of the month has become the 'Ring of Power' for most author's. We have become consumed by it to which it has become the only thing that matters. We crave to be on that first page, to be near the top of the leader board! We've lost site of why we have written in the first place!

If a story is good give it a thumbs up and if it sucks to you give it a thumbs down. I do however believe the voting system should be tweaked and instead of a positive & negative it should be a numerical system (1-10 score). That would be a fair voting system because I do agree with Fat Albert that some stories, while good, are not deserving of a 95-100% rating. I won't name any names, but that shit is TOTALLY true.

WaDaSM part 4 is 22-pages in, for those who follow it, but that only means it is 60% complete. It will be my Avengers ENDGAME as it will be last written work.

It consumes all who wishes to be up on top. I've been reading on this site since 2010- 2011. No story/ series is better that Game of Inches and I've read a majority of good to great authors on here.

It's not an opinion, it's fact! Tell me a story that is and we can debate it because I probably read it. Owning a Dominant Bitch is a close second. Therefore, like Fat Albert says those authors who try to 'skirt' the system by allowing only registered voters to vote on your story which the majority of those who vote would be your friends or fans of the series are doing yourself a GREAT injustice!

Perfect example, MojaveJoe's latest offering (don't mean to put you on blast) of Tales from the Loft has been read almost 90,000 times but has 96 votes.... Really?! Lol. And is at 95.8% currently. Is it a good story? Sure. Is it worthy of 96 percent? Umm- No.

Indelicated Doll has a new offering called Coloring Outside the Lines which is awesome, but is standing at 92.6% Maybe not a far superior story but superior nonetheless but because she has less of a following her story is rated less because she to has only registered voters.

Like I said before the voting system is totally flawed, but it is the way it is.

The more of a fan-base you have and allow registered voters the higher your story in most cases. As for the Rocker series, it is a good/ great piece of writing but you do yourself a great disservice by posting then deleting then reposting again only to delete it in the end.

I'm happy you found a site that you like and feel appreciated but you always come back home because this is Rome and there is no other place to be a gladiator than in Rome!

Clarification, Indelicated Doll has all voters. Not just Registered Voters. But you get the picture!

 

The worst thing is having people who pretend to be your friend and judge your story because they don't like you personally. There have been times where stories are judged for content and genre of the piece instead of the writing ability of the writer. Why would you want to read a story in a genre your aren't interested in. I would never read Stephen King and expect Louis L'Amour writing. If you like incest stories search for incest stories. Hope I made myself clear, there.

 

I think your logic might be a little flawed there, alberto. If a story is at 95% with 20 votes, that means 19/20 people voted it positive. If you think that story should be at 90%, then you voting negative puts it at 19/24 (since your user vote counts for four), and that puts the story at less than 80%. Far be it for me to tell you how to vote, you do as you please, but your philosophy contradicts itself unless you're in a perfect situation, like if (doing math... fuck...) there is 95% with 80/84 positives, and you drop 4 negative to make it 80/88, or 90%. That's the only time it works.

 

@albertofatto you've been exposed! Lmfao! It makes me chuckle that you pleaded to know why your story was downvoted and you are so hard on @DBuck .

I don't understand, maybe I'm old fashioned. Because if I like a story I vote positive. If not I try to leave a comment so they understand why it is harder to read than others. You are all acting like every one of us are more that just regular people trying to write a small story. In all of my time here I haven't met a Stephen King or Anne Rice grade of writer. We should all be trying to help each other get better, not trying to trash peoples work. That is just my humble opinion. Thanks

OK @Tcs1963, you left a negative on my story Queen Yavara Chapter 17. Since you haven't left any votes on the previous 16 chapters, I can only surmise that you didn't read any of them. But since you're obviously a man of your word, I'm sure you'll be happy to comment on why you didn't like it, because of course, "We should all be trying to help each other get better, not trying to trash peoples work."

 

Well, I've officially finished my story, Agent of Lilith. The final two chapters are posted and out of my hands. I'm simultaneously nervous and tremendously relieved - the former because I want my work to be well-received, the latter because goddamn it feels nice to finish something. I started writing AoL over six months ago, and I would like to think that my ability as a writer has improved in that time simply through practice, but also through osmosis. Having a space to talk and share thoughts with fellow erotica writers like all of you has been an extremely valuable resource, and I hope I've contributed something to the community as well. Here's to many more stories and constant improvements!

 

I agree with you and you did make yourself clear. Individuals not judging on the writer's skill, I have seen a lot on this site. I have seen many reviews of stories where it is clear the person reading does not like the genre. It seems very unfair to vote and/or leave a comment for that reason. Especially, when it is often VERY clear what the nature of story is. It happens with product reviews, recipe reviews. A classic one I read once was someone complaining that a recipe was too salty. The instructions in the recipe were "season to taste."
