Currently, the KKK is representative of a faction of the republican party. David Duke is just one example.

 

Pointing out that the Klu Klux Klan was originally a Democrat organization is nearly as ridiculous as claiming that the Nazi movement was left wing.

In an article published in 1928 in the Yale Review Walter Lippmann said that in the South the centers of the Democrat Party were the Klu Klux Klan and the evangelical churches. Obviously that has changed.

Col. Sanders appears to be a kindly plantation owner. If I was a slave I would rather be owned by Col. Sanders than Simon Legree.

Also, the plantation system survived the end of slavery. The former slaves became share croppers.
