An exhaustive three-year investigation by the office of Whitewater independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr has reaffirmed previous findings that White House deputy counsel Vincent W. Foster Jr. commited suicide.

The report concludes that Foster was severely depressed about his work at the White House, took a revolver from a closet in his home, placed it in an oven mitt, and on the afternoon of July 20, 1993, drove to a Virginia park and shot himself. And it contains new forensic details that refute the conspiracy theories that have long surrounded his death – that Foster was a victim of foul play, or that his body was moved to Fort Marcy Park after his death at another location, perhaps the White House.

The American electorate is moving to the left on economic and social issues. Trump is the most unpopular recently elected president since political opinion polls began tracking the matter. Most Americans want taxes on the rich to go up, not down. A growing percentage of the American people prefer socialism to capitalism. Bernie Sanders is the most popular American politician.

All the Democrats need is someone like Sanders, but younger, and with a compelling message. Charisma and good looks would help too. The understudy for Sanders should probably be a man. The irrational hatred directed at Obama and Hillary probably does mean that white blue collar workers are not yet ready for a black or a woman president.

The Republican Party is fractured between traditional, affluent Republicans, whose only concern is tax cuts for themselves, and white blue collar workers who want their well paying (because of Democrat reforms) factory and mine jobs back.

The last election may have been the last hurrah for a political party that has been around too long, and is soon to join the Federalists and the Whigs.

At a Harvard University Institute of Politics event on Monday, Tony Fabrizio—the chief pollster of Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign—argued there is "no question" that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) would have defeated Trump in the general election had he emerged victorious from the Democratic primary.

"I think Sanders beats Trump," Fabrizio concluded. "I think Sanders would have had the ability to reach a lot of the less than college-educated, low-income white voters."

Fabrizio's comments are consistent with polls conducted in 2016 showing that in a hypothetical head-to-head match-up with Trump, Sanders would have prevailed handily.

More recent polls have produced similar results.

As Common Dreams reported in August, a Public Policy Polling survey found that in a hypothetical 2020 match-up with Sanders, Trump would lose by 13 points.

Polls have also consistently found that Sanders is America's most popular politician.According to a recent Harvard-Harris poll, Sanders is the only politician in the United States who "a majority of Americans actually like."

 

And her Ted Talk focuses solely on cyberbullying. She says nothing about her feelings about Bill, other than she loved him. You obviously are hearing things you want to hear, not what people are saying.

Tony Fabrizio is a hack! He's making assumptions based on Bernie during the primaries. All Trump would have to do is mention Venezuela repeatedly, bring up the fact that bernie was the only candidate on both sides who didn't show up to AIPAC and show support to the Jewish people (a massive blow to Bernie since he is a Jew), relate bernie's absence at AIPAC to his weakness on terrorism (one of Trump's strong points), talk about how a 90% tax increase would cripple the economy and rob people of their jobs because companies would scatter to other countries (instead of coming back like they are now), and to put the final nail in bernie's coffin, say that America doesn't want or need socialism in the general election debates. Trump would win. I mean, seriously, if Bernie was "SOOOO massively popular" why did he end up losing to Hillary? Even without the superdelegates, he was behind by 330+ delegates.

Besides, Tony Fabrizio was just filling a position. The real pollsters were always Kellyanne Conway and Matt Oczkowski after Manafort got booted.

At one point, he emailed Lewandowski “to discuss Russia’s interest in hosting Mr. Trump. Have been receiving a lot of calls over the last month about Putin wanting to host him and the team when the time is right,” according to documents.

A month later, he reiterated Russia’s interest in an email to Manafort.

In response, Manafort forwarded Papadopoulos’s offer to his deputy Rick Gates, writing, “We need someone to communicate that [Trump] is not doing these trips. It should be someone low level in the campaign so as not to send any signal.”

Papadopoulos’s proposed trip ultimately did not take place, court documents show.​
