  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

a toy called "Aquadots" is tiny beeds that are fused together with water. the dots contain GHB, the date rape drug. can you believe this?! kids have been hospitalized because of this. i keep seeing toys on the news being recalled, and they're all popular toys. last year, it was my son's red James train (from thomas the tank engine), and this year it's Dora the Explorer and Diego, because they contained lead. aren't these toys being tested? there isnt regulations on products in other countries like there is in the USA, so should we really keep getting products from other countries? if they go on the market and then get recalled when kids get sick (and not before), that's scary. the products should be tested the second they enter the USA. this is a huge safety concern, and makes me paranoid to buy a toy for my son that was made in another country. which is bad, because the choices are limited!

I think it's time we brought these toys back to the US to be manufactured...One mistake you can live with, but it's toy after toy being recalled!!! It would certainly scare me if my child was still that young...This last one has been the worst so far!!!

Man, I know everyone and their uncle is going to jump all over me for this, but I'm going to post anyway. But to me, a toy that some way or another ends up with GHB in it is pretty fucking funny.

It is time we stop being so friendly with these countries who continue to ship dangerous products to our shores.
When a product is found dangerous the manufacturer should be banned and forced to justify his entire product line before we would consider permitting them to begin shipping again.

We certainly could get the toys made back in the united states if folks here were willing to pay for it. The Bratz doll that's 12.99 at walmart would run you upwards of 40 bucks if it was manufactured here. Are you ready to do it? People already bitch incessently about the dollar increase at the gas pumps. Imagine the outcry if 80% of the stuff you purchased increased by 200%.

thats true shake. i work for a store, and our denim is made in the USA, and customers dont understand that thats why the average cost in my store is $120 for a pair of jeans. they're all hand made too. were the only brand that you're paying for the quality, not the brand name. but i still think that the product could at least be tested before it hits the store. it's really scary to see on the news that the toy you just bought your child could kill them.

It does have an upside. You employ more workers at higher wages, it pumps money back in to the system and eventually standards of living start rising up and people can afford again to pay the higher prices. The reasoning when jobs started being exported was that the laid off worker would simply find a new job. That's getting harder and harder and you get more and more people getting paid less and less. It's the perfect example of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

We have been taught to live in a throw away society. Clothes and toys are no longer passed down through generations, they are simply thrown out. We now expect crap and thats what we get. Kids don't expect their stuff to last either. We have been duped by multinational companies advertising techniques techniques. Their profits hit new records every year. Our kids as well as ourselves want the new trends in toys and clothes each season and the old stuff is so bad, that most of it isn't worth saving so it goes in the land fill along with its ridiculous packaging. A recent documentary here in Canada pointed out that if the packaging or processing, in the case of food, costs more than the product it can be marked "made in Canada" and apparently this is true in the U.S. also. It seems that very often the packaging and/or processing costs more than the product to the point that it appears that it is done on purpose so the buyer cannot even identify the place of origin of the product. Many of the countries do not ban things like lead or DDT for their own domestic use so we get screwed. The importers often know this and don't give a shit as long as the proffits keep rolling in. There are countries , like Japan who have tried to do at least some of right, and their products are now respected.
When I was a kid , back in the dark ages, everything that came from Japan was called "Jap Crap" with good reason. That is no longer true, so something can be done if our state, provincial and federal governments want to put their collective feet down hard!

As consumers, we have spent MANY years making sure our products were up to our standards. Why then are these countries not expected to do the same instead of poisoning our children?

(thanks for all that oldie, holy crap!!!)

i think everyone's always looking for the "cheaper" way out. the country's over populated, with not enough funding for anything, so every company always looks for the cheapest way to save a buck. no matter where it's from. and the company is always so eager to get the product out to make money, and it's always too late when they find the defect in it. whether it's GHB, lead, e-coli, etc.

the last time i saw something on the e-coli on TV was a few weeks ago. it was for frozen hamburg, and i thought it looked familiar. i opened my freezer and saw the box in it. i had just bought it a few days before. good thing i hadn't made cheeseburgers that week.
