The energy race will not be won with windmills and solar.

Surely you remember those grainy old films of wacky "flying contraptions," tried prior to Kitty Hawk, that would fold and collapse at halfway down the runway.

That is wind and solar.

 

See that's exactly my point. If it wasn't for those wacky flying contraptions we wouldn't have jets.

 

I have a good idea for all of the people who preach global warming while traveling around in a private jet.
Why not mount a windmill on top of that jet. That way your carbon footprint will be a little closer to that of the normal person you are preaching about.
We all know how much power windmills produce, you keep telling us. Should be enough to get that jet in the air.
If it isn't STFU.

That's great, kind of like food stamps huh?, Food stamps hit a record high in the U.S. too.

Point being, if renewable's weren't subsidized by the federal fucking government, it wouldn't be but 3%

But what I am saying is that no matter how far solar and wind advance, those technologies just don't provide the necessary capacity.

The only technology we now know of, that has the necessary capacity, is nuclear power. (Today's fission, and ultimately fusion.)

So, to go with the analogy, Three Mile Island was one of those crazy contraptions.

 

The people in Jackson elected a new mayor a short time back.
One of the things he plans on doing is putting solar panels on top of each street light.
One thing that might put a crimp in that plan, over 60% of the street lights in Jackson do not work.
Most have been shot out. Street lights were not bullet proof and I doubt the solar panels will be either.

And if we had working Niling D-Sinks to perpetually store energy, and if we had room temperature superconductors to transmit it continent-wide with no loss, from deserts converted into solar farms, it would work just great.

The only "green" type of power generation capable of producing the amount of electricity needed to meet the needs of the US is geothermal.

There are many people deciding for others that wind and solar are reliable sources of power.
How many of those people use only power produced by wind or solar?
As much as they believe in it they should be willing to use only wind and solar.
If they are not willing to do it why should anyone else do it?

Sounds like bullshit to me.

We already know that Great Britain is touting a bullshit number when they proclaim that "renewables" account for 40% of their energy generation. The claim is bullshit on many levels. One example: they don't count energy consumed for transportation. A much bigger example: THEY COUNT PLUTONIUM AS A RENWABLE!!!!

Our president has come up with an idea to build miles of solar collectors.
It would look like he would be a hero to those who want to see more green energy use.
Why haven't we seen those people who build their lives around green energy getting on board?
Don't they care about our world?
