It just cracks me up how many people on this thread say solar energy won't work. Until Trump suggests. And then its a great idea that will work. So maybe the next big innovation is if they figure out how to take glaring hypocrisy and turn that into energy. There seems to be an endless supply.

also keeps out rapists, criminals, murders, drug dealers, and I suppose some good people.

 

Sounds like a winner.

Stumbler, if the greenhouse gas predictions are accurate, the sun may give us a temporary break. You may have read about the solar scientists that claim they have predicted 30 year period without any sunspots. They have a physical gas phasing model that predicts the measured sunspots for the past 300 years, including the Maunder Minimum. Their model is predicting a 30 year period without sunspots (decreased solar radiation) which could result in a mini ice age. That may help delay the increases in global warming and give us some time to reduce our emissions to lessen our impact upon climate. Of course after the mini ice age, global warming would be back in full swing.

 

Do the models predict when this would begin?

Interesting. This is the first I have heard about this. And while I am a little bit skeptical it might actually give the earth a reprieve. How long is it supposed to last? And do the climate scientists agree?

 

Is this a model that might actually catch on?...............it would make the presidency redundant!

The lying Europeans never had any intention whatsoever of paying their share into the U.N Green Climate Fund any more than they ever intended to meet their obligations to NATO spending. They're a bunch of hypocrites who thought they could sucker the U.S. into not only paying its own share, but of paying for the inevitable European shortfalls in funding that will occur.

Geochemist Says Oil Fields May Be Refilled Naturally

A geochemist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts says she believes that hitherto undetected gas and oil reservoirs lying at very great depths within the earth's crust could stave off the inevitable oil depletion much longer than many experts have estimated.

Discovered in 1972, an oil reservoir some 6,000 feet beneath Eugene Island 330 is one of the world's most productive oil sources; it has yielded more than one billion barrels, or 42 billion gallons, and is still going strong.

Although the reservoir from which Pennzoil is pumping oil was formed at the time of the Pleistocene epoch less than two million years ago, oil now being recovered from the reservoir has a chemical signature characteristic of the Jurassic period, which ended more than 150 million years ago.

So...with their standard of thinking....if Plutonium is a ''renewable energy'', petroleum is as well.

Petroleum produces so many items that we need/want on a daily basis...Styrofoam, plastic products, tires, garden hoses...the list is long.

 

Makes you wonder where oil really comes from.

It is assumed it comes from ancient biomass, because it runs with coal seams and is full of fossils, hence "fossil fuels." But no one really knows. And to this day we haven't duplicated the creation of oil from biomass. Sure, we have synthetic oil, as a lubricant, but this is different from the real stuff from the ground, from which we distill gas.

So... what if the oil is only mixed in with fossil sediment, because it actually originates deep in the earth naturally and has to come up through the fossils to reach a depth that can be extracted by our technology?

Because I'm thinking sure, the earth is billions of years old, but there can't possibly be a mile and a half of biomass, can there? If oil is more than 6,000 feet down, where the hell did it come from?

I don't think anyone really knows, one way or another.

 

But that isn't what I wanted to post.

This "solar border wall"... I've always heard the solar panels work best when they get south-facing sun. Wouldn't that mean the solar panels would have to go on Mexico's side?
