  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

They pulled up most of the tracks around here 30 years ago.
The driverless truck will happen first, but that is still a good ways off.
Most here in this forum will be dead and gone.
Right now the concern is all the unemployed people this so called progress will generate.

Ya they sure look pretty before they have a vehicle or person splattered all over their grille ... but they have come a long way in the last couple years and the Mercedes Future Truck 2025 has helped pave the way to further advancements as well. Uber had a couple "Ottomotto" trucks under investigation in California and Teamsters are up in arms about the whole idea of driverless trucks and all anyone needs is to piss off the "Mob" ...

The drone manufacturer I own stock in is doing research in that area as well so I will have to knock on some doors to get a look into what they are focusing on and how close to anything they may be.

Self braking and lane departure systems have come a long way as has "cruise control" and each car manufacturer is contributing a little in the way of research that if pooled together could revolutionize that industry sooner than later. Part of the problem is everyone wants to build a better mousetrap before the next guy !!!

I wonder what this one would feel like rolling over you ???

Fuck Uber! There is Zero customer service, and if a driver screws you, you have no recourse. They are independent contractors. And the rating system does not work!

How on earth could anyone expect to get away with murder or rape in an Uber? The driver is a known entity, the passengers are known entities... There's nothing anonymous?

The drivers are not known entities! There are very little background or criminal record checks done on them. The main problem is that there is no way of knowing if the person who shows up is actually the registered driver. They don't carry id and a lot of them share their cars.

I take Uber to and from the train station everyday. Sometimes I think a driverless option would be better than some of the drivers I get. I had an Asian lady Thursday, and nearly had a heart attack as she blew through the stop sign.

Oh, so Uber just contacts random people to come and pick you up, totally out of the blue? They have no clue who they are contacting... Ever?

I have had instances where the driver was not the person listed. They were just using the registered vehicle.

Well, I wonder how Uber handles that situation. I can't imagine that the owner would want to be responsible for the taxes for someone else.

So you blast them in your first post and then defend them in the next 2 ... WTF dude.

So who does the contacting, did you call a dispatcher like you would a taxi or does an app show you the nearest car and you call them direct ???

First of all, you missed the sarcasm. And second, it is obvious you have never used Uber. They choose the driver. You do not call the driver.

I use uber regularly. The app picks the nearest driver to your location... You then receive a message: Abdul will be 5 minutes in his silver prius....

As Abdul is wearing no identification how am I to know it's Abdul? And not his convicted criminal pal who is using his car for that shift?

Easy answer; I don't. An unknown entity if you will... contradictory to your above post. Have you ever used it yourself?

Actually, the app does not pick the driver. It located all the drivers in your area, and the first driver to accept your request gets the assignment.

Also, the app does show you a photo of the driver as well as the license plate of the vertical.

I'm not sure where you get this other driver who is pulling the shift. If that is the case, then the owner of the car will be the one getting the money, not the friend. And if the owner does give that person the money for the shift, he is stupid because it is the owner that will be responsible for the taxes on that money, not his friend.

And yes, I have used Uber.

Most of the Uber drivers are really nice people. I have had the occasional bad experience, but those are rare. I prefer Uber over taxis due to price and convenience.

I mentioned that I have never used them and am oblivious to how they operate but thx for the info bro.

I have a driver that carries a sidearm so I think I have my travels covered better than Uber could. He always asks me what movie I am watching that is so funny while I am on my laptop in the back seat to which I tell him "I'm not watching a movie, I am on XNXX". If only I had used him in July things would be different today !!!

We had a "surtax" of 4 dollars per ride in taxi's for almost 2 years so they could earn extra money to put a partition between them and the passengers and in the end all that money went into their pocket and the law stated that they only needed to shield their backside from a knife attack with these silly little plastic bowls that sit behind their seat that anyone can simply reach around anyway, fucking money grab from them that didn't do them any favors or earn them any sympathy from consumers.

The way most cities let Uber trample over regulations was a bitch move though.

I know that the taxi and limo companies are happy with Uber and Lyft, but it's a matter of economics and convenience. The drivers don't handle cash, so it reduces the risk of being robbed.

The taxi companies here are livid, I saw a video of an Uber driver getting punched out by a passenger a while back so they are still at risk of injury. You hear stories like that a few times a month.

The latest craze is kidnapping weed dispensary personnel and either ransoming them off or killing them like happened in Washington State last week.
