If he builds in Jerusalem, he will be starting another war. If he does nothing he gets persecuted by the Dems. Thats an all around catch 22.

On several occasions I have stated my belief that President Obama should not have opposed Assad, and that Secretary of State should have not have opposed Gaddafi. Both are or were the kind of dictators I want to be in charge of Arab countries.

I want Arab countries to be ruled by dictators who are unpopular and incompetent, but cunning enough to stay in power. I think the invasion of Iraq, although the War in the Gulf, was a mistake for that same reason.

I do not want Arabs to have good governments. I do not want Arabs to have popular governments. I do not want Arabs to have democratic governments.

In the Arab world I fear the emergence of a charismatic leader who is also a military genius. Men like that have risen during unsettled times and changed the course of history. Think of Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan. Napoleon Bonaparte came close to being one of those men. He was eventually defeated, although not before filling Europe with corpses.

The kind of Arab dictators I have described would recognize the presence of such a potential Arab leader, feel threatened by him, and have him killed.

 

Good luck to the American staff who have to move to , live in and or commute to Jerusalem.

Yep , the Jews are (mostly) happy it seems , but that is no surprise.

Certainly not all are , and one of the main concerns is , that there needs to be a negotiated settlement , and until then , Israeli occupation has no international validity ,
(it is technically illegal) ,
and no rogue pronouncement will change that.

There's been no lasting progress in 50 years , and many retrograde steps , so this can't help .

The Palestinians basically want the Jews chased right out ,

and any time they have offered any hope of an olive branch , its been thrown back in their face , and they've been bitten on the arse.

I have no sympathy for the Palestinians . They've lost all the wars , after starting them , repeatedly , and that is how the world has worked for millennia ,
so the winner writes the book , within the rules in place at the time.

Currently the rulebook dose not recognise Israeli occupation ,
and that is also how it is in the current times.

If we won't to rewrite the rulebook , how far back do we go ?
