Now I've explained this before but I will say it one last time, until the next time. I've been a member here in various disguises for three years now and I've done nearly 3,000 posts overall. I tend to post when I've got something to say, something interesting crops up or somebody posts something that gets me up in arms. I'm not someone who can post "ah but you said xxx on such and such a date". I don't even remember what I posted last week. (QUIT RAMBLING)

Yes sock master, sir. Well as I was about to say, I missed out on a lot of what happened on the forum last summer, even though I have never really taken much interest in the politics of the forum. Do you remember all the cliques that were here 2 or 3 year ago? Yes, there were cliques, generally formed of socks and their masters who would band together and launch a broadside against anyone who upset them. They tend not to last very long as either they get fed up or they get banned. I think it was Clarise who said something about "no matter how hard you try or however many sock accounts you hold, you'll give yourself away in the end."

Recently, however, we have begun to witness a situation which has never existed before, at least in my time here. The word "clique" has been bandied about here a lot recently and it has a highly negative ring about it, so I will refrain from using it. There was a group of "senior members" of the forum, some with official positions and others with officious ones who played a large part in the daily running of the forum. There were many like myself who took part in the forum when we could be bothered visiting and we were glad that there were others that were willing to spend their time and effort to keep things going for us. I won't say that there was total harmony but people had their off days, fell out with others and then were offering a round of drinks a few days later.

Now I don't know about all you others out there but when I wake up in the morning after a stinking argument on here with one or several others, my immediate reaction is not to say "let's wade into the bastards". I look at the link on my computer screen and say "fuck, what have they been writing about me while I've been away?" I know I've fucked up and that's why I come back and ask if people want me here.

That's why I just don't get what is happening here at the moment and then earlier on I said to myself "I've seen all of this before". Déjà Vu, anyone?

Remember back in the late 90s when we used to watch WCW Monday Nitro on TV? We used to get it here in Europe on TNT every Friday evening along with the ppv shows on satellite.

Rick Flair and the Four Horsemen, Hulk Hogan and the New World Order, Eric Bischoff being thrown off the stage and endless acts of treason as members moved from one side to the other. It was great entertainment and in a way we wanted to believe that it was true even though we knew it wasn't.

So what has all of this to do with the forum here? Well, just like the wrestling, I'm beginning to think that this war isn't real, that it's just something to keep the masses entertained. Why do I think that? Just read ELPs posts. In the space of a few months two people who were writing stories together have now become mortal enemas, sorry, enemies. We know that Heater was one of ELP's socks so he isn't averse to creating them. Is the ELP brand so powerful with it's CAW winner credentials and all the other medals that have now disappeared from his signature that he can't bear to give it up? If so, its a bit like trying to promote thalidomide as an anti-depressant for pregnant women. Any normal person would have started a new identity and abandoned that which is not only blown but reviled by most on the forum. But then is ELP normal? Well I'll leave that up to the post seekers here who can give chapter and verse for everything that anyone has ever posted. Why would any intelligent person, and no matter what anyone thinks about him, we must admit that he is highly intelligent, waste their time on a forum, where they have absolutely no future, taking potshots at others while being fully aware that no matter what they do, they cannot get rid of their enemies? None of it makes sense and suggests that ELP isn't actually who he claims to be and is actually the sock of someone else here who is using the present state of war for their own purposes.

Something round here tells me that things just don't add up. People are just not acting normally. I shall be delighted if others can prove me wrong and would like to hear other conspiracy theories you might believe in.

The saying is that Love Is Blind. Unfortunately, hatred can be just as blind.

Once the line has been crossed, the one with the hate must be the one to cross back over; no amount of reaching out will be able to counter a blind hatred except the removal of the blindness. Willful blindness can only be removed by the one who caused it.

I am sorry to see the chasm between you and your prior writing partner but maybe it is actually for the best if his attitudes are so volatile and vulnerable.

No matter what he was in the past, he has now become a troll and that change has been a one way trip whenever I have seen it on other boards. He is no longer worthy of my responses or my antipathy. I beg of all reading this who share my views of the troll to behave towards him as his trolling is due - shunning.

 

Then there's no possible doubt about it. I am your sock and you are mine. The only problem is that that puts us in the position of two mirrors facing each other.
